Visiting the Empire State Aerosciences Museum
    Glenville NY
My wife and I took two of our three grandsons to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum. The youngest one is just a year old the other two are three and five. Now, you won’t see them in the video; their parents decided they didn’t want them to have a social media presence, certainly not on CZcams. So, you might hear them, and there might be a fleeting glimpse of them walking around, but you won’t know who they are, or see their faces.
However, we had a lot of fun and visited the two exhibit halls, finding they had a lot of hands-on exhibits. The boys really liked them. The video isn’t about our entire time there, just the C-130 tour and the flight line. There is a lot more there and it’s worth the visit.
The Empire State Aerosciences Museum (ESAM) started in 1984 when four aircraft and flying devotees, Carl Battaglia, Ernie Tetrault, James Delmonaco and Steven Israel, who came together to create a museum with the purpose of inspiring and educating the public about the marvels of flying. [1] “What was once a small collection now includes over 20 planes in our Airpark, exhibits and interactive displays in 2 buildings, a simulated reality vehicle ride, and a research library with more than 10,000 books, over 5,000 photographs, and over 6,000 other archival documents.” [2]
In 1984, when the museum first started it occupied offices on the south end of Schenectady County Airport. In 1993, with the help of volunteers, and the funds from The Great Northeast Airshow, ESAM increased to 9 buildings on the western boundary of the Schenectady County Airport. The buildings were perfect for telling the story of aeronautics, since they were a significant feature of New York aviation history. ESAM’s large hangar and outer buildings were initially part of the General Electric Flight Test Center From 1946 to 1964. [3]
The impact of the Empire State Aerosciences museum is that it: promotes interest in aviation, in particular among the residents of New York State and visitors of any age. Additionally, it provides a repository for historical artifacts, documents & aircraft assisting schools by exposing students to aviation technology and careers. Finally, it provides a meeting location for aviation enthusiasts and other groups. [4]
I hope you enjoyed the video. It was a great time, and our grandsons really liked it. I think you’ll like it too. Please don’t forget to hit the like button and if you aren’t subscribed yet, please do!

There's a lot there to see. I just did the C-130 and the flight line but the exhibit buildings are packed with history and it was rather cheap. Just $11/ea. Thanks for watching. . .😎
