If you're using Turkish airway you must be very careful and smart. The airport is so large and you can't ask question because the workers mostly don't speak English. Lots of people miss their flight at Istanbul airport
Dubai Airport is a state on its own. Not only walking, u need to take train inside the airport to your gate. You need not less than 4 hours dear.

My sister booked to travel from Nigeria to the Uk via Lufthansa. There was no mention of transit visa while booking until she got to the airport for her fight. There was no mercy at all. She lost money, save the taxes as the ticket was a non-refundable one. It surely is a new thing. Africans should beware and avoid these airlines as much as possible.

Very informative video, thank you. I agree with you that one can get cheap BA directly from UK to your country if you book early. Another way to get cheap BA tickets is to buy Reward flights using Avios. I paid just 250pounds plus Avios for a return trip to Nigeria, but I booked like 6 months ahead😅

@NanelleGriselda You are mistaken, transit visas are not required as long as one is not exiting the airport terminal, regardless of the time interval or wait time. (It could be less or more than 24 hours, it just doesn't matter inasmuch as the passenger is not exiting the terminal) I spent more than 48 hours in Changi International Airport, Singapore.

I left Cameroon to the UK with Royal Air Maroc. My experience was good so far. One stop at Morocco and then continue with another plane which was still Royal Air Maroc. I had 1 hour at Morocco for transit but I didn't miss the flight.

Ethiopian airline showed my husband pepper🌶 last month, after booking he get to airport the said he can't fly with transit visa. And it took 3wks before the refund the money. British Airways is just the best.
My husband n I purchased flight tickets with Kenya airlines to the UK. The flight was going to transit in Paris(2hrs). We could not travel becoz his passport required him to have a transit visa(Cameroon passport) while mine was fine(south African). We had to purchased other tickets with Rwandair to Heathrow... Always check b4 paying for your ticket and make sure u buy a flexi ticket so u can get a refund just like we did😜

Royal Air Maroc doesn't require a transit visa if travelling from Nigeria to the UK, their services are seamless and topnotch.
KLM took my money (in fact stole my money) I asked them before booking if I needed a transit visa they said no. I called 4 times for same question and I got same answer. Only for me to book, got to the airport and they said i needed a transit visa just like that. I tried to explain that I did call them but to no avail. I called customer care and explained that I am still at the airport but nothing was done. At the end of the day they lied that I didn’t even show up at the airport because I should have stored the name of the person that told me that and videoed myself at the airport if I was to claim my refund as I booked refundable ticket. This was how KLM stole my money.

Kindly note your information can be highly misleading. African passport does not exist. Each African passport has it's own restriction. There's are over 55 passports with different passport index or visa free requirements. Some African passports are stronger than others. You need to be specific. Are you referring to traveling with a Nigerian passport? If so be aware Nigerian passport has more travel restrictions compared to many other African countries which means you may or may not require transit visas if transiting anywhere else other than your final destination. Kindly be aware guys. African passports do not exist. Kindly call the airline or check the website ticket specific instructions per country when booking flights to get accurate information before the day of travel. In addition you can check the immigration information on a particular transiting country specific to holders of your passport for instance, Qatar and UAE provides visa info

Sorry but do your research extensively. With transit visas, There is an exception to those trying to use these European airlines and I quote, Passengers are exempt from the ATV requirement if they have a valid residence permit/visa from the US, Canada, Japan, or any European country. Your b1/b2 USA can allow you to use klm.

@bolu101 read properly. I said residence permit/visas. That means any kind of Japan, Canadian or US visa or residence permit to these countries. That clause didn't specify which, so it means every visa. It didn't mention the UK, so anyone coming or leaving the UK, with or without a uk visa or non-EU, flying through this territory will also need a transit visa. This is an EU travel laws. Because of the brexit, non-british and non-EU travellers to the uk and from the uk wouldn't enjoy this benefit
