Sandy Beach at the Blow Hole got me once. I was sitting way up on the beach and a freak wave came and took me out. Lol it didn’t roll me or anything I just floated out on my butt. lol
The Lifeguard clip looked like Big Beach on Maui. Those waves crash literally on top of you and yes the stories of people getting permanently paralyzed are 100% true

Yep, Mother Nature has a sick sense of humor. I used to teach Scuba Diving in SoCal, and when you enter/exit the surf zone you watch and respect the power of the waves (even the small ones). And that one lifeguard was right by diving into/under the wave, that's how you keep from getting rocked/wiped out.

I noticed that too! Getting out of that wave break area takes a lot of practice and the locals make it look so easy which makes it even funnier when tourists get stuck and can’t get out.
Honestly that's one of my favourite things to do with waves. You fall backward into it at the right time and angle your body so that the force of the break actually pushes you back to your feet. It feels really cool

As someone from the Caribbean, which has much calmer waters, you learn and are taught not to fear the ocean but to have a deep respect for it. A lot of people that aren’t familiar don’t realize it’s immense power.
@@user-wh5ir4fo4r I think Barbados and Aruba are the MAIN surfing areas because they have most consistent larger waves. St. Maarten, Galion beach and Plumb bay are good too but honestly elsewhere if there's no storm the water is very calm and peaceful 😊 I love it there.
I miss Hawaii so much. Only lived there less than a year and also everyone hated me because I wasn't Hawaiian, but damn if I didn't love that place. Rather than the beaches, I loved hiking in the mountains
