I saw your video of the mansion we helped the electrician in the basement when the house was being built delivering supplies I was in the poolhouse when it was almost finished delivering supplies for the workers I never saw the inside because the wood trim was being milled for all the trim and railings and doors thank you for the inside views of the mansion I made the hay and fixed the equipment it made me sad 😭 to see how everything looked i hit my save all I have are good memories now because everything will be gone thank you if I had not seen your video I would have never seen how beautiful the inside was 😍😍 I know Mr McGinley spent a long time getting things done the way he wanted them

You'd cut down hundreds of trees to build another structure, and use up lots of a special rare type of sand for the concrete. It might be less messy in the long run if you want to redo the wiring, but I'd take on the hassle for the sake of the environment.

It’s not always that they don’t want it. They might not have been able to afford to pay a mortgage and taxes on a property and home like that. Sometimes things are sold to pay it off cause the people left behind can’t afford it.

@@MikeY-nh2we I love old houses. They have some cool built in things you can't find anymore. My favs are coal cellers. Which make fantastic storage for onions and potatoes. Drawers and cabinets in the steps, built in China cupboards. All the new houses just don't have the same charm.

It's terrible to teardown a home that is usable when we have so many homeless people but it's not actually such a bad idea that Wildlife is getting a break for a change, this is rarely done actually. Couldn't they sell the house and carry the house away in parts? You'd be surprised how often homes are moved but I understand this one is rather large.

Well let's face it, it's not like any homeless person will be dropping $20 million on a mansion. We also cannot force private property owners to pay millions each year to turn their mansion into a homeless shelter, run it, pay for upkeep, etc on their already $20 million property. I have always wondered though why our government always tears down schools after new ones have been built when they are set up nearly perfect for a homeless shelter as they currently stand. All that would be required is funding for upkeep and basic running it. When you look at just the billions upon billions in tax money we give away as aide to other countries each year, we could easily make it happen. Just my small county tore down 5+ schools at once a few years back. Just using one of those as a homeless shelter here would have easily made a major dent for years and years to come.

This clip is a bit misleading, the kids sold the house to another family almost 20 years ago who had to borrow money to buy it. They didn't keep up with their loan repayments and the property was foreclosed on. It sounds like its going to be a wildlife sanctuary of some kind.
My parent's house was totally demolished , all of us siblings had bad memories in that house . One sibling wanted it renovated but the process was found to be too costly because of neglect. Good riddance.
I lived there as a house sitter for 1 1/2 yrs while the owners spent time in wisconsin and florida. It really was something. They also had horse stables and race track. Some good memories since I had the house to myself most of the time. Never will forget those 750$ bottles of champagne on new years eve. Such a wadte.
I HATE seeing abandoned properties ...meanwhile, how many people are living on the streets? A lot of properties end up in ruin simply because owners/landlords want too much money for rent.
