- 1976 Pontiac Trans Am For Sale
Matching Numbers
455
4 Speed
3 registered owner car.
Numbers matching.
Much documentation since new, including purchase order, dealer invoice and PHS
documentation.
1 of 7099 Trans Am.
Low optioned car. Car was specifically ordered with the following options:
455/4sp, rear defrost, center console, and dealer installed am/fm.
Car shows 19,000 miles +/ original owner became wheelchair bound, and car sat
with only maintenance drives for over 25 years.
Car was sold to me by the second registered owner who bought the car from the
restorer/dealer who sold it to him without a warranty as to the mileage.
Original 455 runs great and is tight and clean.
Full documentation of restoration in 2008. Repainted original Firethorn red Paint
is strong. Car is detailed and is very clean top, engine compartment and bottom.
1,000 miles since restoration. Lots of $$ spent on NOS and best available repro
parts down to hoses, vacuum lines, brake lines, etc.
In past year, finishing touches including hi po water pump (got it running cooler),
completely restored and replated Qjet, new radials.
Keep in Touch,

Man what a beauty!!!
Very nice!
And the Tips are way high up, but damn, its the nicest 76 I have ever seen
Holy Moly! What a stunning car, thanks for sharing. I guess it did not take long to sell this-LOW mileage at 40 years old. If this car was a woman, who would she be?
perfect.
My Dad has the exact same one except no bird on the hood.
I had a 76 but didn't realize this was a engine option. Mine had a 400 with a 2.71 rear end, one of the most gutless wonders I ever owned. That drilled out shaker opening is not factory.
Actually believe it was a 2.41 gear, yeah the torque of the 400 helped but that was a serious highway only gear and used with automatic only. With the 4-speed manual the car would have either the 3.08 or 3.23 and the 455 cars all had a 3.23.
And the clock is not workin> love the car
I want this car
how much did it sell for ?
I love the color. Is it a factory color?
Yes, that would be Firethorn Red.
Never knew 76 had a 455 option
The 75 did too.
Wrong beauty rings on the wheels, those are for older Pontiacs. I own a original 1976 TA 455 since 1979, so I know.
beautiful car but mufflers were hanging really low.
That's why the factory used a transverse muffler behind the rear axle for ground clearance.
Trim rings are wrong. I ordered one new that year. Those weren't factory.
Yep that's the old style, the new styler had a smooth edge and had more of a brushed finish but many liked the older style better.
75 was the LAST 455 HO
The 76 is not a HO. I have this exact same car, color too. Bought mine in 1980.
And neither was an HO in reality. I guess Pontiac took so much ribbing by putting 455 HO decals on the shaker in 75 that they dropped that gimmick for 76.
Man! Why cars have to look like shit today?
