I lost my big toenail as a child, it never grew back normal. My sister would always call me "dead toe" and i would never wear sandals, hiding my toe from friends, boyfriend. years went by i always got my nails done, i finally asked my manicurist if she could put a nail on my toe, she said yes she did it all the time, i started crying when she did it for me, i balled my eyes out. I know how she feels. I put the nail on myself now, never embarrassed again. What freedom. 😊

Have you not seen the numerous Botched by Nature episodes that these two have done? There’s a ton of examples of them performing surgeries for well-deserving people who were either turned down my other surgeons, botched further by other surgeons, or need the very specialized care that these two can offer that not all surgeons can. In a lot of these cases, money isn’t the issue but access to competent doctors is. Also, we can’t make assumptions about the house someone is in since there’s a ton of times where these “house visits” on ANY type of reality show are staged to look a certain way or the family goes to someone else’s house for the visit if they don’t want their house shown on tv. For example, if it was me, I’d probably rent an Air BNB or something since my house is super small and not what I’d want to show on tv without doing a bunch of updates first.

And for Dr Paul to speak up and tell her that he has the same deformity was so human. Not many doctors would do that. Dr. Paul & Dr. Terry are so special when it comes to dealing with people. They understand how body deformities, whether caused by surgery or there at birth, can affect our ability to thrive in life, can affect our self esteem, self confidence, self worth and most of all, our mental health.

Before seeing this new approach to the hit show, 'Botched,' I saw a trailer where Dr. Dubrow discussed how the first season of 'Botched' brought in dozens of hopeful people from around the country, and after the third year of their program aired, submissions skyrocketed into the *hundreds of thousands.* They talked about the hows and whys they had decided to help these often sad and traumatised people get the best treatment they had to offer because they deserved it irrespective of their income.
But after watching several patients in the new approach to their show, I have noticed that so far, Dr's Dubrow and Nasser have visited *only* upper middle-class neighbourhoods, visiting people who, it is obvious, could most likely afford the services of these two high-end Beverly Hills surgeons out-of-pocket.
There are *so many people* who have visible deformities and *don't* live in fancy houses. The previous seasons focused on people who were in the most need, and we're willing to put themselves under the scrutiny of every day Americans, possibly their own neighbours, and deal with the obviously embarrassing problems on national television if it meant that there would be an answer to their prayers.
I am working on being the compassionate humanitarian that I try to be every day. It is sometimes challenging to remember such things in today's political climate, but every good deed is most often returned multiple times over, but I just can't seem to get the thoughts out of my head about all those people who *can't even afford to go to a doctor for basic, general medical care.*
There are people who have missing eyes, legs and arms and don't get visits from high-powered Beverly Hills surgeons. How is it that a single toe out of alignment with the others on the foot cause this much drama for the doctors? Weren't they taught growing up that there's more to life *and love* than what you look like? If they were not, I apologise for the presumption, but it *must* have been learned in the time *between* childhood and today.
How could doctors such as yourselves who treat some of the most severe cases of visual deformities in the world, talk about a wonky toe as if it was growing out of your foreheads? You are sending the wrong message by picking out (seemingly) minor deformities ~ (and please know that I have nothing but the utmost respect for the poor woman in this particular show who has been hurt for most of her life because of this issue) but by creating a show about such a seemingly minor disability when there are millions of people who must live with horrible burn and surgical scars, missing limbs, eyes, ears and jaws, not to mention the most common condition of having a huge skirt of skin known as a panniculus (a flabby abdominal apron left behind after tremendous weight loss). The number of people with the last condition has many millions of sufferers who are unable to get relief because most insurance companies refuse to pay for their removal, (no matter what they say, the surgery is *not just for cosmetic purposes)* despite the tremendous amount of pain, discomfort and sheer humiliation of having these stomach flaps that frequently *drape down to their knees.* Don't *these* people deserve a little happiness after turning their lives around by losing massive amounts of weight or are *they* doomed to suffer because "they should never have gotten fat in the first place?"
This is a wonderful show, but the people who are being visited *in their homes* can obviously afford to *pay for* the services provided by these doctors. Why are *they* being visited instead of the people who *don't* live in million dollar homes?
In this new series, the patients live in homes most of us would never even be able to visit, myself included. I had the bad grace to hurt my back, and now live in a wheelchair after 26 years of working as a nurse. Without proper health insurance, I will probably never get the opportunity to live in conditions so comfortable.
There are *many other poor people* in this country. Why aren't these two fine doctors putting *them* on camera? I'm certain that you will receive just as much hospitality as possible, even if your much less prosperous patients can't afford to cook a full spread for you to indulge in. Many of these underprivileged, disenfranchised people who would *love* to have a visit from you doctors.

My sister was born with a toe that crossed over the top of the other four - it was longer than her other little toe. However the surgeons did a fantastic job - and although there was a lot of scaring, otherwise her affected foot looked normal. My elder sister brought home a friend when I was 7 years old and I had just realised what had happened to my sisters foot - I told my elder sister's friend about my sister's operation and my sister got so upset which confused me. I told the friend about it because I was so proud of my brave sister coming through such a traumatic event. I still feel guilty. Imagine teasing someone to deliberately just to make them feel bad. We all have differences that make us unique - why this lady had to put up with teasing and pain is so unfair. I am so glad she got the help she needed to regain her confidence.

Her feet are so pretty in comparison to mine. Not only do I have Milroy’s, Disease (extremely rare), but some of my toes slant sideways under the other toes, causing pain from toenails digging in to the bottom of the other toes. My toenails grow upwards as opposed to outwards from my toes, which makes it even worse.

My adult son's 4th toes are the same size as his 5th toes. I told him that he has double little toes. He didn't wear sandals for years. I didn't realize that I hurt his feelings. I have apologized multiple times. I think they are cute but I'm his momma.

I understand what she meant by praying at night and expecting your tires to be normal in the morning. It's never happened. I've thought about surgery for it too.

Remember the x-ray of that area? It was infected all the way to the bone. Second, they needed to take the amputated toe to pathology to test it for any other illnesses such as cancer, virus or bacteria.

I understand feet issues!! My mom wore a size 10 and her foot was wide. I would hear her say negative things about her feet and I could tell she was self conscious despite all her other talents and intelligence. Finally she had surgery on both feet. Her feet were no longer wide and she seemed happy. Years later she had a procedure done, by a young Podiatrist because her 2nd toe was longer than the big toe. The Podiatrist claimed she could “fix it” but the toe no longer lay flat!!! It was shorter but it sort of stands up higher than the other toes. The Podiatrist botched the surgery and my Mom is so self conscious about it. She’s never had anymore surgery on the toe but she’s embarrassed. I feel awful for her because she is a beautiful woman still at 87-turning 88 soon!
I’m so happy you had surgery on both feet🥰 plus they are very pretty🥰

My second toe is quite a bit longer than my big toe. It never bothered me, but my mom hates it. As far as I'm concerned the only issue is it's more likely to get stubbed.

Bad surgery on feet can lead to future problems for
    knees, hips and column.
I respecfully suggest that a foot surgeon specialist is needed.
Do not allow, any shorting, removing of toes, neither removal of tendon if by any chance raise over the joint
