I love this bike because it is the most German machine to come out in years. On paper, it makes absolutely no sense. Every other manufacturer is going water cooling in everything they make. Every other manufacturer is going with inline twin cylinders. Here is a classic design. A design that made BMW motorcycles what they are today. And it might be just a few years model, but it is a great big bad double middle finger to anyone who thinks the BMW air-cooled twin is dead. And the designers made it beautiful. People who would never buy any BMW are looking to buy this amazing bike. When it cranks, it's like the Harley Davidson but in a BMW only way. It moves side to side like a living animal. And when it moves away, the sound is unmistaken. On the road it is smooth as it can be. Hell Yes, BMW. Keep surprising the world and showing the world, how German's do great things.
For sure a bolt bike to make in 2022. No only for the reasons you mentioned but also design, it resembles the bikes that took Germany to the far east of Europe and to northern Africa.
The big 1800ccm engine when pinned sounds a lot like the oil cooled 1200ccm boxer.
