  • This pattern contains singles, doubles, drags, accents, flams, varying dynamics, moeller technique and is perfectly even, with the leading hand swapping each round.
It may not actually be the hardest rudiment based pattern, but it's one I'm proud of creating and it certainly exercises many different aspects of stick control.

Nice comments below and in line with my own reading of the notation. A double paradiddle with accents on counts 1 and 3. The second eight note of each paradiddle set is played as a double stroke and the accented count 3 stroke is flammed. The name given by the creater is cool and playing up to speed is really where this becomes tough. Love the challenge and offering. Agree also the description of the second stroke of the paradiddle phrase as being "cheesed". It certainly sounds that way when up to tempo, the squeezing of that double is almost like a drag rudiment

That, sir, is a Drag Paradiddle #1 into which you have inserted an accented Flam. I did a quick check of 500+ hybrid rudiments and I don't see it in there. Very few named hybrids start without a flam, drag, or cheese on the first note... so I'm inclined to think it isn't one already, though I could have just missed it in my scan of the notation. Interesting thought. Perhaps you can name this one.

Thanks for the comment and your thorough scrutiny 👍. We have named it the Swiftlet Diddle. To play it with the correct dynamics at speed seems to be quite the challenge.

@@musoversedrums8961 it is challenging and now having some comfort with it I'm realising a greater utility to it as it inspired me to revisit other standard rudiments I've learned but now seek opportunities to further ornament them with extra embellishments other than strict accents. Nice creation here
