Everyone is saying to just make the tree bigger, but that might break the scale a bit. Perhaps changing the tree type to more of a coniferous pine tree like you have in the village would allow you to go taller without looking oversized.

I think when you get around to opening up your museum you should have a 'I Spy' style activity sheet for visitors to try and spot each of your stories. You've put a lot of work into them and it would be a nice addon to your museum to try and draw visitors attention to all that's going on in the city by having them try and see how many they can spot.

It would be a little hidden from the front view but it could add a little bit more opportunity for storytelling. • @user-hk5by4xt6n
    @user-hk5by4xt6n Před 8 měsíci +12

I think you should defiantly add the rocks by the cliff, gives it a sense of depth, and breaks up repetition, for the factory windows, try adding some planks to act as "boards" just one per window, maybe two on the big ones, enough to give it a truly abandoned effect, but not enough to obscure the view, I also think you should add a hole to the roof that has been patched with a tarp or a metal plate, and maybe a hole in the wall which has hastily been filled in. Both of these add to the buildings illegal's feel and that it is hiding something. That said, I just feel as if there is something off about the factories location, that it should be wedged between two buildings in a shady corner, not by a ledge overlooking a plaza, that would be valuable real estate in real life and the factory would have long been torn down. My suggestion if to move the factory away from the plazas and build a more crowded industrial area. but do keep it visible because it is a cool feature! Do keep it close to the docks though.

My idea for the story is to come up with a few stories to evolve over time. So visitors have a reason to come back and spot the changes..
Example: show the criminals making money, then making some sort of mistake or have a snitch talk to the cops, then hide some undercover cops nearby that people can spot as they spy on the criminals and then eventually the police ready to take the criminals down… etc!
For the moon you can have experiments that turn bad and break free, heists and runaway cowboys in the west… etc!
Long term stories could be a ton of fun, especially if you post online when the story changes, and give out hint cards to visitors to look for the stories, and then maybe just post the stories online just before you change them so people who didn’t visit can keep up/catch up on the stories.
    That’s just my idea.

regarding your question at 6:00 in the video about whether to add the tree, I think anything you put there will look like it's growing out of the roof of that building from certain angles. So maybe if you put a sidewalk cafe or an outdoor restaurant on that part of the street (with some umbrellas, people sitting around, a few potted plants, etc), at least from some angles it will just look like that building has a patio on the roof.

Maybe instead of a tree you can put a small water fountain / statue to break up the landscape. Also I would recommend instead of adding more rocks on the shoreline you can build a few of those concrete wave breakers with spikes. Hope this helps!

The added rocks sticking out of the water by the diving cliff are perfect! They fill the space in a way that makes the area look more interesting, it adds a vertical variety instead of the rest of the harbor, which is all the same height. It's also more realistic that bluffs and cliffs on a coast have.

I stumbled upon this channel a while back, and I am always so excited when the CZcams algorithm recommends a new episode. I love your passion, I enjoy hearing your thought process and how you are willing to break down and try something new, and the CreAtIvity to think of so many ways to visually represent such complex things! I am not a LEGO person at all to be honest, but I love seeing how you take an ambiguous problem and artfully "solve" it with time, effort, and creativity; all while using LEGO bricks, which are what they are, and it's up to YOU to use them in their intended and unintended ways. I also enjoy hearing about "illegal" builds, because it makes sense how they may not be "proper" and yet they work in the ways you build them. Please keep it going!

I like the additional rocks, the only edges of ocean I’ve been too with rocky cliffs always had a few rocks popping out of the water further ahead.
I think keeping it as a tree trunk behind the houses on the upper level is the right call, the last thing someone wants is a root growing through their exterior wall. Maybe to help break up the monotony of the stone work continue some gardens behind the houses, or maybe some bushes/hedges for privacy if the houses have windows up there.

    1. The windows of the factory could be blacked out/boarded up or some other way to block it for more realism, in such a way it's pretty clear that illegal stuff is being hidden. Then the doors open to reveal what is going on.

This town is getting every week more amazing!!
    I love 2 things of today's progresses:
1- Police is going after the weed when the money and the kingpins are in another facility and will probably get away with it. So real.
    2- Weed. 😅
For plants of that height I would technically suggest you a amber-ish light @ 4000-2800 Kelvin color simulating HPS bulbs, because the purple-ish colour of last generations LED systems generate less heat, can be placed closer to the leafs and absorb less power but are still unable to penetrate below 50-60 cm resulting in many undergrown buds on the lower branches.
I know, it's a Lego diorama, but I know you like to be accurate as possible. 😊

Since you mentioned that the upper part of the city lacks vegetation you could add in a rooftop garden. It doesn't have to be anything big, just a couple small potted plants. I think having a few small steps to go from the street to the rooftop would be cool.
Loving the city so far! The factory is a nice addition. When you add the police raiding the place maybe you could add a guy trying to climb out of a window to escape them? Or you could add a small scene where a police officer is chasing a criminal.
