Over the past year, I have been building a gauge 1 replica of Henry the Green Engine from the early live-action seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine. This video showcases the development process from a 3D design in Tinkercad to the final product, using laser cut acrylic and genuine parts to make it as authentic to the original model as possible. NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with the Thomas and Friends brand and all model work shown here is my own. This video showcases design and construction methods of a TV film prop, which while it can be enjoyed by children, is more so targeted at adults that grew up watching the live-action Thomas the Tank Engine television series. As such, this video is aimed at a general audience.
Dude, this by far the BEST Henry remake on youtube, and possibly anywhere, the shades of green, the lining is clean, the faces are great and every bit of him looks exactly like a carbon copy! You should be proud of your work, this is absolutely splendid

Are you sure this is a replica? I literally feel like I'm staring at the original perspex model, yes I know it's not the original model. But that's just how damn good it is.
Orginal models from season 1 to 3 were 1 Gauge 1:32 Scale with custom made bodies like the uploader made while the chassis was Märklin ie the wheels and electric motor.

@@merlinandmurdoch7837 During Season 5, they were planning to scale up the models to Gauge 3.5. Thomas and Percy were built in that scale. Eventually, due to budgetary reasons, the team decided to stick to Gauge 1. However, in the Jack and the Pack episodes, Thomas & Percy’s Gauge 3.5 models were used

That’s because in its based of the Season 5 Model and in Season 5 they forgot to paint the Cylinders.

this is such a beautiful model! i absolutely love your recreation, and it looks just like the original prop! congrats on getting it to look so good!
With people like you, the classic Thomas series can be revived once more.
This is very nicely made, looks almost identical. There are a few subtle tells, though. One of which is that the front windows of the cab are identical, instead of the one on the right-hand side slanting up a bit higher such that the top corner of the lining pokes up above the Belpaire firebox.
Dude that Henry model is fucking amazing! It looks just like as if it was Britt Allcroft’s prop model from the early series of Thomas! I love it! Now I’m inspired to make one someday when I make some money to build one

Would love to see models of any non-televised RWS and magazine/annual characters and CGI only characters in that style. Yes, I know that such work is expensive.
whoever disliked this are fools it is so spot on the amount of work into this and the fact it fully functional im very impressed i would use this in the show for sure the only thing that needs changing is the color of green on the cylinders thats it

Incredible remake of the model!
That’s incredible you need to make Thomas though, make it run working on or off lamp posts. Whistle sounds, and a nice background for it, make the eyes move with a different controller, make it move back and forth fast and slow and fix up the white paint in the mouths and your good to go 😅

A very nice job. Henry has always been one of my favorite "Thomas & Friends" characters, because he seems to be the kindest of the big engines, his color is green (my favorite color), and for the fact that my paternal grandfather's name was Henry.
