- Instead of using awkward light stands, here is a better stand for mounting photography and video backgrounds up to 10x10 ft.

These are called “tank traps” and we use them on stage for Pipe & Drape - similar to the photography backdrops but a continuous length. You could buy the tank traps separately and use them with other poles or stands you already have 🙂
Before a steamer, I was using a spray bottle with a portable hair dryer (way back when...). Thanks for the episode Mr Markus.
Straight to the point. Thanks Markus!
hehe I love all the new cartoon people being clumsy in the start and end of the videos! :D Really fun!
Yeah, the cartoon characters was funny, and made me laugh a bit 😂...he he 😅
I do like that it is square all the way down. Thanks
Thanks for this. I purchased one but assembly was confusing. This was much help! Work from bottom up!
Always enjoy what you find and come up with! Thanks for doing all your videos!
First? Keep rocking, Markus
my vacuum robot would like these stands!
Love IT! Thanks 😁👍
I only have a few backdrops and I have plenty of storage space so I roll mine up like a rug on 3 inch PVC pipe. No wrinkles.
Yahoo I just ordered one good find!!
Great find Markus - thanks for sharing!
Omg, katesbackdrops is a gold mine! Thank you for that!!!
Thanks Marcus, I didn't know about those stands and I don't like the flared legs either...😊
What a cool way to hold backdrops without worrying about constantly tripping over the legs. I am ordering one of these today !
Whoa!!!
Thanks for sharing. What a great concept in the world of backgrounds-backdrops.😎😎
super bro
These stand have some great application.
Thanks for the tip on these Markus
I have that exact same tapestry hanging on my bedroom wall. Lol
Cool stand. Thanks!
Perfect! I love it!
there is a whole sub culture dedicated to wrapping fabric artistically for events. they use those stands
wallcarpet is great to clean with dou p from SEBO origin for oreint as else florr carpet. More intensiv collor.
What a great option for a backdrop stand. Looks easy to set up too. I'm kn Australia so hoping it would ship here.
Thanks for the tip. We have large backdrops for Halloween and I was looking for a better way this year. Now, we'll have more space and not trip!
Thanks Markus!
Great tip! Thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing this. I have been looking for something like this. Cheers brother.
Can't tell you how many flared feet I've photoshopped out at a custom lab I worked at in S.F. And cords. And lights. Then came Oprah's 50th birthday party into my lap.
Nice find... always like watching your finds , BTW that backdrop is amazing any info on it ? did you paint it..
This is awesome
DID YOU PAINT THE
BACKGROUND? Know
You have the Skills to…
Thanks for the Tips 🎉
so you could even take your own digital mattepainting go to a copy-shop/printing house and have your own indivdual background for your next film or photo project
Waiting for the 1x1 steel bar giveaway.
i would take a steel bar i could use it for when there is a zombie apocalypse in exactly 3 months 6 days 10 hours and 34 minutes
Any results photography?
I like your video with the handycam giveaway!
The Heavy Duty Frame Stand specs say it can hold up to 15lbs. So this might be perfect to hold a sound blanket/or in my case the cheaper route for a combo Sound Treatment-Backdrop, a U-Haul Quilted Furniture Pad (72" by 80") Weight of the U-Haul pad 5.5lbs. So actually one could hang two blankets-side by side--if all they cared about was sound treatment. Anyhow, looks like it'll be great to try this DIY approach to backdrop and sound treatment for video and photo shoots. 😎😎
The vertical stands maybe, but not the horizontal expanding rod. For that I would use an aluminum square rod if you're using heavy blankets
@@MarkusPix Thanks for the advice.
thats cool i have been using something similar on a smaller scale with slimmer flat feet - i do like that background i cant see if on kate backdrops does it have a product name!?
🌟🌟🌟!! 🙏🏼
💎💎💎💎💙💙💙💎💎💎
Markus, Right after watching this video, I ordered the background stand. It just arrived and is now set up. I've been hoping for such a stand for decades, and until now had to be content with one that had legs that splayed out at the bottom. This stand is PERFECT, sturdy and secure. THANK YOU!
Hope you enjoy it!
Would the poles with heavy sandbags work with the paper seamless roller hangers? Could they hold the weight of three seamless paper rolls?
I think they can just hold one at a time since they are not heavy duty pro poles
Thanks Markus!
Question: How would you approach it for 20 feet across? I'll look around for a 20ft cross bar....just curious what your awesome mind might think of for that situation...I love your content btw...truly one of my FAVORITE on all of CZcams. Cheers!
A third stand in the middle
Those would be good for me to not get my wheelchair caught around the feet of traditional frame stands when I get a studio happening
Good god I hated having to set the green screen on those thin light stands. Especially on location under time constraints. I don’t do that work anymore, but I kinda want those stands in case I get inspired to get the camera out. Those velcro clips look handy, too.
These days your green screen doesn't need to be fully flat in color, they can be wrinkled, in shadow, hell, they can even be dirty from an outdoor shoot and they will still go transparent with with just one or two steps. I mean, even conference calling software like zoom can produce a pretty good green screen effect in real-time live video with any relatively solid background
Was wondering what you thought about the Westcott X-Drop Pro? Too proprietary?
Yeah that's basically for just Wesctott backdrops. I get all kinds of cool ones from China etc that are all different sizes that won't fit or are bigger than the Westcott squares, and to get a real smooth surface, it's better to be able to stretch and clamp up and down the whole pole
yea I hate how I have to fight with the flaring of the legs plus them falling over easily.
So how do you match the color to the background?
@MarkusPis how are you doing, thanks for making this and all of the amazing videos you’ve produced over the years I greatly appreciate your hard work. Now I wonder if you’ve ever heard of the Impact Deluxe Varipole support system. It’s far better then this setup.
If you look to the left and right of the scene, you can see a varipole on each side holding up lights. They are too thick for clamps to go around and if you have a really high ceiling, they are useless. But they are good for certain things for sure
@@MarkusPix oh okay I understand
i have a t shape background stand with a green screen (all in one piece) from long ago. i didn't know that you can get a square background stand... but i didn't look before i bought it. anyway, can there be any way to save the t shape stand? or is it a lost cause.
🇹🇹 🇩🇰
I have no understanding about Cameras, and all those stuff, equipments, etc. I'm just here for so 🤪🤣🤓
Always nice to see Markus🤠👍💯
Hey, thanks for the video! Do you still like this backdrop stand? I am thinking about getting one. Thanks!
Yes. Sometimes I use an aluminum square rod for anything 10ft wide or more
I hate the flared legs.
