We finally got my mum her dream dog a miniature dachshund!. meet Greta!, here is our first day with at home with her! i dont know how any body gets anything done with a new Puppy at home, because all we wanted to do was snuggle her and love her all day!
it was so much fun!, i am secretly going to steal Greta for myself when mum is not looking. i have 4 dogs but whats one more and mum wont notice!.

My most beloved dachshund was named Greta. She was a longhair silver dapple and lived to be 15 years old. My little soulmate. I still miss her!

A cocker collie and mini dachshund here. My other two are 8 and 7, but the Boss is one now. He moved in sorted out the other two oldies and Stan the Man is de Boss! They are fearless, sassy and stubborn.

Congratulations! I’ve had doxies my whole life, there’s just no other breed that comes close to a dachshund. Prepare to laugh your tails off, pun intended. They have the best disposition, personalities and humor, lots and lots of humor. Just be very mindful of their backs, no jumping whatsoever, preferably not even steps is recommended, put ramps everywhere, couch, bed, every exit, car. Don’t let them stand or even pick them up like a baby under their armpits or stand on back legs.One of my last had IVDD, 2-1/2 months living at ER vet, daily hydrotherapy treatments and $4k dollars later and that was price in 2009. I don’t regret a penny, I do however regret how unknowing I was regarding them and this disease. Get a book on doxies if you haven’t already and research IVDD. They are prone to get this disease due to their long body and bad backs. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope that you have years and years of happiness.

We had our 2 brothers for 15 years, just had to let them go. We are hurting, but loved everyday we had with they, joyful, loyal, and yes, laughs never stopped.

She's absolutely precious. Both of the dachsies we got after our first who was a foundling (he was a standard red, then we adopted a "tweenie" red and miniature dapple with some time between each of them) got ignored by their older brother(s) for about a month before they were accepted. Hoping this finds both people and pups well at your end.
