TEKKEN 3 - chickens - reversal escapes

I prefer to call chickens ESCAPES. Counter is rather a hit, kick, punch, stab or anything that interrupts foe's moves.
You can say any escape that takes away opponent's damage is a counter, but it's not always true. Not every counter doas damage - KING's or ANNA's push for example.
Many multi-grabs/throws can be escaped with additional damage, but some don't.
Even simple ANNA's uf+3 and NINA's WR 3 can be countered roughly for 25 / 18 damage. - Hry

Wow! that's insane. I knew about most of the chickens, and reversals, EXCEPT Anna's chain throw!!! WHHHHAAAAAAAA?????
The reversal escapes were great, they were harder to pull off in Tekken 2. I've experienced that a couple of times when I had Tekken 2

4me is Poul and Nina - reversal walks in easly.
I think "GREAT!" started with T2 (if not sooner?) and is announced when you win with little life left. It was also alternate way of getting Roger/Alex - quoting gamefaqs:
"On stage 3 win the last round with 5% energy or less left"

basic left grab+front escapes left hand reversal
basic right grab+front escapes right hand reversal
double hand and double leg attacks that can be reversed are escapable by one of these commands

King's side step 2+4 multi starter is also reversible, I did not include this in "chickens..." clip but it's shown in "secret moves.." for King. check it out.
Anna's animation of multi-reversal was her grabing reversal from cat stance since Tekken Tag.

I read this movelist but I never performed or seen anyone "reverse" these moves, however if you escape them opponent recieves 10 points of damage...
I rely on HIT ANALYSIS in practice mode, if character flashes green there should be a window for input.
Sometimes it decieves in cases of buffering, like Gun Jack's HCF (half circle foreward) etc.
please can you tell me how to make them do those reversals in practice mode because i'm doing gun-jack vs jin and i cant make jin reverse my attacks so that i can chicken please reply

Bro how to set practise cpu to reverse our attack?
Assuming you're using some PC emulator I'd try Xpadder or JoyToKey. Set 2 player buttons to keyboard, then map the combined reversal combination to a single button on 1 player joypad or stick. You can also set a macro for constant auto-press of this combination. Go to practice mode, enable training dummy as "controller" and you're good to go.
For maximum comfort, quick-save this in emulator so you can easily return to this anytime.

No, it was only in PSX T3, with TTT this animation served as auto throw reversal from cat stance
It's not present in T6, and I'd never call it useful anyway ;)

Hey please can you perform all the reversals which are listed in Catlord's Tekken 3 or TekkenTag's Movelist. I can't seem to do most of them. For example
f,N,D/F+2+3 Standing Achilles Hold {2}
1+2,3,1,1+3 Scorpion Death Lock {2}
1,2,3,1+2 STF {1 Escape, 1+2 Reversal}
1+2,1,3,1+2 Indian Death Lock {1+2 Escape, 3+4 Reversal}
Please can you perform the reversals mentioned above in the brackets.
You're welcome. Remember that King's side step 2+4 can also be parried and reversed :)
Very neat, some of these animations I have never seen before. Wonder if they stopped at a certain Tekken. Fun trivia in case you didn't know. Marduk can RP counter during tackle like Paul in Tekken 4 but only against Paul. And Paul only vs Paul (PS2). Tekken 5 Marduk loses it but gains cross leg hold counter. Tekken 6 Marduk gets both. Tekken Tag 2 Marduk loses the RP counter. Tekken 7 I dunno yet.

What does QCF and 1 2 3 are can you tell them in terms of triangle, square, circle, etc
1 = LEFT PUNCH (SQUARE)
2 = RIGHT PUNCH (TRIANGLE)
3 = LEFT KICK (X button)
4 = RIGHT KICK (CIRCLE)
f = front
b = back
d = down
u =up
f,b,d,u - mean: tap/press
F,B,D,U - mean: HOLD
FC is Full Crouch
WS is While Standing, get up from crouch
~ is press very fast
CD is Crouch Dash = f,d,df
BT is Back Turned
SS is Side Step L left or R right
CH is Counter Hit
QCF means "Quarter Circle Forward" - "down" "down-front" "front"
QCB is Quarter Circle Backwards - "down", "down/back", "back"

@@magician1515 General rule is 1+3 is escaped by 1, 2+4 by 2 and 1+2 grabs require 1+2. There are exceptions to this rule and many multi-grabs require specific input. Best source for general knowledge about the game is still gamefaqs but many guides are incomplete or slightly inaccurate. I tried to upload my knowledge there more than once but got rejected (mods are complete morons considering Tekken3 is TOO OLD TO FIND SOMETHING INTERESTING). 72 dmg - raczej sporo... ale to moim zdaniem najtrudniejsza rzecz w T3
możliwy jest input b~DB lub d~DB ale nawet przy "czystym" db+1+4 masz mniej czasu na wciśnięcie niż choćby reversal 3+4 na Kinga db+1+2
nie wyobrażam sobie zrobienia tego przez przypadek, nic dziwnego że do tej pory ludzie znajdują coś nowego w tej grze :}

I don't feel like coward too but it doesn't say that. Since this move needs some reflexes and technique, I personally think that it refers to the opponent who can't counter you.
Don't try this with PAUL, he can't do that :)
BTW, some characters (LAW, XIAOYU, BRYAN) can parry sword attacks (b,b+1; db+1; uf+1+2 copters) but not QCF+1frontflip blade.
Also: P.JACK has invincibility frames doing his b+1+2 shield. He will push back sword attacks from upclose but ignore collisions from mid distance (again NOT QCF+1).

O.K. with nothing to do with the fact it's a great video, would someone explain to me why did people give the escapes, reversals and glitchs of that kind the name "chicken"? What does it have to do with anything? And for anyone who rates my comment "bad", I'm asking that to understand the name of this topic.

Chickens are ONLY reversal escapes.
When you perform it the announcer's voice is clearly saying "CHICKEN!", personally I don't feel like a coward saving my character from damage :)
Same voice appears in tekken force mode when you "consume" an extra energy item visually represented by frying chick...
i remember this kid coming into the arcade bragging about counters being so easy and making tekken cheap. i chickened my way to victory and the kid left raging. if you get a survival record it puts a chicken by your name.

Well, you're chicken cause revers-reversal must be done very quick, so you just do it right adter the attack, cause you're afraid that youe opponent will catch it. Simple?

So the "CHICKEN!" call is in order to call me a coward becasue I don't want to get dammaged? What a S.O.A.B. announcer. But I have noticed that sometimes in a K.O. or a "PERFECT" round he shouts "GREAT!" instead. What's the deal with that?
