The 2017 CX5 is selling like hot cakes, as well as the 2017 CRV Touring...Rav4 sales are down, although they have a soled reputation
The Rav4 is dated with cheapish interior materials. It's long in the tooth and needs a total re-design. That said, I love my 2017 CX-5 Touring. Awesome vehicle. Best vehicle I've ever owned. I used to be a "Ford guy", but after owning the CX-5 I doubt I'll be back. Ford does make great vehicles though. Who knows. If the Ranger comes back and it's affordable...who knows. Mazda should bring back the small truck they used to have to rival the Tacoma, Ranger, Ridgeline...ect.

I'm not sure how they can rank a car lower than average after only a couple weeks of being released (which mine is doing great). I was speaking to the companies as a whole. He mentions Honda having legendary reliability, but their new platforms are not living up to that.

Motive X7 I have no issues with it. I have almost 1000 miles on it. The only complaint is the Soul Red Crystal paint seems thin. I have a couple chips already.

Nice review! We were recently shopping for an crossover SUV and the Mazda was in our short list but decided to go with the Kia Sportage. I think one of the biggest selling points was a panoramic sunroof. It just makes the vehicle feel so much more open and roomy inside.
The one thing I really loved about the Mazda was the dial to control the radio/info center. Not having to search for buttons us definitely a welcome addition which I wish the Kia had. All in all, pretty happy with the Kia.

Why didn't you buy a high end Tucson, with the turbo, and 7 speed DCT?...I DO love the new Sportage front end, though.
I'm interested in getting one of these but at the same time I want the mazda3. Both are very similar but one has the better HUD and more space, but I also want to modify a few things here and there too
Have you heard the reports or rumors of Mazda introducing a 7 seater version later this year? The seats will probably be useless but the extra cargo space would be primo.
I have not actually, I don't think there is really a need for it in their model lineup. That's what the CX-9 is for.

Heard that Apple car play and Android Auto will be an option soon as a retrofit to the current vehicles.
Apple CarPlay is supposedly coming in a software update in the next couple of months or so

Sure, the new 2017 Mazda CX-5 doesn't look all that different from the 2016.5 model that my mom has, but what's wrong with that? It was already the best looking & driving compact crossover out there, but they made it better where it really counts.

When you are at the rear of the vehicle with the lift gate open, you pull the handles located right there in the rear cargo section to lower the rear seats.

Like 99% of this car. Just the screen looks small and awkwardly positioned.
looks small compared to the competition and will strain my eyes...they should have made it wider instead of squeezing it in the middle
I thought the same thing until I saw it in person. While it's not the biggest screen it is super high resolution and when sitting in the driver's position it is in a nice area. I especially like how smooth it operates compared to the Honda system.

Do you know if turn lights inside front and rear lamps are also in LED technology? Does it have auto dimming side mirrors just like the rear mirror?
No, the turn lights aren't LED technology. Only Headlights, daytime running lights, and brake lights are. Side mirrors aren't auto dimming either.
Thanks for answer! What a shame, even HR-V has auto dimming side mirrors and about LED turn lights, I really like the idea where the same LED light is used for daytime running light and turn light (by changing the color) like in some new German cars.
Another missing feature from those "cool ones" is opening tailgate with foot movement and no one even mentioned this in all reviews I watched. Everyone is excited about power tailgate while in other new cars they are one step ahead.

Too bad about the engine options. a little more beef would be nice. I will say the new crv did impress me with its interior and it has a turbo 4.
CRV has a CVT instead of a real transmission like the Mazda.
don't let Honda turbo fool you its the same power ratio as the N/A 2.5L mazda, and needless to say the mazda engine is more reliable

Fernando Bustos-Escobar Hey Fernando! The CX-5 comes with heated rear seats in a package that you can get on the Grand Touring models which is the Premium Package. There is also many more features as well such as a heated steering wheel and active driving display with road sign information.

Don't like the front end with protruding hood lip. Also hate the info screen on top of the dash. They should have left it where it was. Deal breaker. The 2016 model looks much better.

Maybe it will take some getting use to, but the headlights and the wheels are ugly compared to the 2016 model.. not sure what they were thinking
if only it was AWD I would have considered the buy. FWD kills any transmission.
