DCS Cinematic: F/A-18C strike mission (Top Gun Maverick style but more realistic scenario)

- Just a quick mission i put in just to toy around with the idea of having a mission almost similar with Top Gun Maverick, but we wont be pulling high G or fly through multiple SAM sites or even fight 5th gen enemy fighters. I decided not to include any music so that you guys can enjoy the pure sound of fighter jets.
I think this mission would be close to real life strike mission but i'm no military expert. This again demonstrated the power of in game mission editor. Sit back, Enjoy the flight!

This mission was awesome! Thank you for sharing--seriously it is well done. The timing, etc is awesome. I will say, I havent beat it yet because Im knocking off the rust with the MAVIR. I cant quite remember how to track a moving ship on the IR side. Anyway, unsolicited tip for the mission would be to fill out the briefing. I wasnt sure how long it would take me, what exactly was going to happen, etc. But do with that what you wish lol. In any capacity, it was a sweet mission once I understood how the AI was going to fly!

@@jacklindsay1825 thanks! Glad you liked it. that's how i do cinematics, i just place everything in the editor & let the idea flow. Sorry for the lack of briefing because i didn't intend to share it as a playable mission initially since i want to move on & do next cinematic. I start to share the Miz file after received lot of feedback who want to try the mission that i uploaded as cinematic & they don't mind the lack of briefing / dialogue etc.
The mission is open for improvement for those who want to work on it.
Guys, there will be another mission that is very interesting to try. Wait for my next video coming soon!

Exactly, those are fixed SAM sites, juicy targets. But it won't be a cool movie if there is no SAM dodging scene. Overall im still happy with it, great movie.

Now this is the first DCS vid that’s actually worth watching that I’ve seen in a long time, too many idiots think their one hour vids have something to bring to the table. Anything that’s longer than ten minutes is worthless unless it’s a training video.
nah those 1+ hour long videos are nice, observing is always a good way to learn in my experience

Hey bro how did you controlled screen in the movie that you made like that? Does it needs VR?
Only using track IR + combination of key bindings for external shots. Some actual are free camera then use my mouse to "chase" the jet or anything im aiming at

Might be a stupid question but how do you get the destroyers to launch tomahawks?
It's okay. No question is stupid, you just need to add task to "shot at point" for the destroyers. Under the "shot at point" task, you can select the weapons, range, number of rounds etc.
You can download the Miz file & open the mission in the editor to check it out.

Rodz88, please can you tell me if I should buy supercarrier and the f18. I love carrier ops but can’t realistically do it without the deck crew. I have the f14 but I want something more modern (the f18) what’s you’re thoughts.
If you are a big fan of naval aviation like i am. Yeah get it. My first module was F18 & AV-8B, follow by supercarrier and finally F14. It makes my DCS experience complete. F18 & supercarrier had seen many updates which is awesome, so yeah worth it. Get them under the Maverick bundle or wait for summer sales.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Due to the multirole & amount of weapons it can carry, most of the time i will flying the F18
Same mistake as the movie, you didn't use F18 Growlers to jam enemy radar. You assumed Tomahawks took out 100% of SAMs.
