Daniel admitting he did a poor filet job, but can we agree they did him dirty by having him filet a $350 dollar fish without a proper knife?!
I was surprised they didn't give him a fillet knife. Even a fishmonger could make a bad cut with a bulky chef knife.
He probably didn't think to ask for one.
adding to the point. i didn't even know you're supposed to use a different knife 😂
@@Bella-qw4dw lol
I grew up in the Deep South where fish is a very important part of the meals and using proper tools to prepare the meals is just as important. Daniel must likely didn’t know to ask for the correct knife
Everyone talking about the bad fileting, but can we just agree that Dan's plating in the dish was immaculate? That's one of the best plates I've ever seen on this channel.
I love their chemistry together. I don't remember seeing a Chef compliment the plating as sincerely as Yuji did.
Yuji is always a delight; very respectful, polite, and encouraging to the challenge participants. ❤
I don't know how it took me this long to realize Chef Yuji's restaurant is in the same city I live in. Just made a reservation and I can't wait.
Comment on your experience there.
How did it go? Was it as amazing as expected?
@@coderpunksanonymousgroup8304 It was very delicious! The restaurant is small, it only seats 12, so it was a nice intimate atmosphere and the food was served quickly. We got both types of ramen being served (the menu was not long - it also changes every day, it seems) as well as an appetizer. There was a lot of flavor depth to every dish. The vegetables were extremely fresh, all of the ingredients were great quality. A great meal, definitely recommend!

u gave him a $350 fish for his first time filleting a fish poor guy 🥲
And a veggie chopper ..
Yuji is such a boss. Love to see how he utilizes every part of every ingredient!
I came here to say the same. No waste!
He is amazing!!! He uses every part of everything in such ingenious, creative and delicious ways.
Well at least Daniel admitted to his filleting skills. Goes to show how hard it is
I LOVE YUJI SO MUCH BRING HIM BACK MORE OFTEN
I was really scared when he was butchering that fish... but when the pro was surprised by the quality of plating (which actually looked really nice!).... priceless.
Chef Yuji and Daniel are both delightful!
I love how impressed the chef was with the presentation. Like you could tell he had a genuine reaction to that.
That plating on Daniel's dish was so beautiful even Chef Yuji was impressed. Overall, two mouth-watering dishes!
Daniel is back! Yay! Also, we should always have mad respect for the skills of fishmongers.
Daniel's an artist when it comes to plating.
Es la actitud alegre, jovial, honesta y siempre positiva de Daniel lo que le convierte en una estrella.
Chef Yuji's rice burger and especially the kakiage was so clever. Great way to get texture and extend a smaller portion of salmon.
Dan gives so much jake peralta vibes i looove it
I've seen so many videos of these but everytime i wish we could also see them do the original recipes they had planned
OMG😮 the way Daniel butchered that salmon 😢 it was already dead, but it died again 😅
😭😭
It is actually completely irrelevant. He did not present the raw fish for sale or consumption and the end product was beautiful.
So did I.
He did his best
I love the pro chefs enthusiasm!
this is a half thousand dollars! you trust me with this?! got me
That fileting of the salmon physically hurt my heart.
Yay!!!! Another video with Daniel! ❤😍. Also his plating came out so well in this episode
Best series, thx!!
ngl considering the effort they already put into this series, they didn't get ol' Rose to guide Dan on how to fillet or even just let him watch a youtube video on how to fillet so that he doesn't get blindsided
Love seeing chef Yuji!
These two are always my favorite to watch 🥰
Fileting a fish is A LOT harder than it looks.
Both sound and look Delicious!
Yay for Yuji and Daniel
Just by the title... salmon, chef Yuji, nice, then Daniel shows up. Great combo.
DANIEL IS BAAAAACK. Happy ❤
My two favorite chefs! I love Daniel's enthusiam and determination. And Chef Yuji is just so skilled and so informative. If Uncle Roger were to see Chef Yuji cook, he would have Uncle title for sure
He even uses his favorite brand of Rice Cooker
Orange caramelized teriyaki sauce? YUM!
:D:D Welcome back Yuji, welcome back Daniel!
The whole time Im looking at Yuji I can see tears in his eyes
I had never fileted a fish before. I'll stick to prepared filets. The last thing I need to do is butcher the presentation appearance.
Yuji Daniel combo always great ❤
Yuji is amazing. Daniel is some of the fakest humans i've ever seen do a show. A honest expression does not seem to exist for that guy.
@@gravity00x meh, being less cynical is more fun! You should try it :)
For first timer, not that bad
The dishes turned out great!
Totally out of topic, but Uncle Roger would be exhilarated dancing to the music of his favourite rice cooker brand...
It been a minute since we seen Daniel 🥹🥹
He’s busy modeling and making music.

THE 99 REFERENCE I LOVE IT
I really wanna see you give the same set of ingredients to two pro chefs, without any instructions, and see what amazing dishes they come up with
Great video
I think these guys could become friends lol legit.
Yuji singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 🥹 Japanese rice cookers are the best 🤭
You're a wizard chef yuji 🎉🎉😮
WHY ARE THE PRDUCERS LETTING HIM FILET WITH A CHEFS KNIFE AAAAHHH
😱
love chef yuji
Can u please meke an episode where both chefs use their own recepies
Can we get one video where the two chefs don’t switch ingredients? I wanna see what they actually do with what they prepared for
Wholesoming all over the place
That fish would pay my car note, no pressure
"My rice buns are ready" made me giggle. I'm immature like that 😂
The rice burger reminds me of Mos Burger
Daniel: I'm sweating 🥵
Me: ok, continue 👀
That poor fish lol
I think Daniel did great job filleting the fish with the type of knife he used I probably would of use a long skinny type knife 🤷♀️
いちほまれ is the successor to こしひかり. Just need to get it in the studio for the next one
daniel giving jake peralta energy
LMAO he watched the clams for thirty minutes
Daniel is either 30 or 45 and it bothers me that I can't tell.
Well done Daniel, you tried. 👍👍👍👍
I don't like this style, where both of them cooking is shown at the same time. I would prefer one after the other :)
Where can I get a $4.50 piece of Salmon in NYC? 😮😅
@ChefJamesMakinson review this, but try to talk abput freshness and quality of the ingredients
¡Por supuesto! Ese cuchillo fue una horrible trampa de Epicurious, ¿será que no tienen dinero suficiente?
Hello 😊
is that a watch or what... i need to know
We only get to see Dan 1 or twice a year, what’s his day job?😅
Manila is my favorite flavor of clam
Looks like baby elephant rice cooker, aka unce roger approved
a $500 salmon, someone is ripping u off - I know, I know, I live in the PNW, but a $500 salmon does not exist.
It was all of the ingredients together that cost $500, not just the salmon. Still, the salmon was really expensive at $350
@@HeyExclamationPoint just due to the amount, I'm gonna hafta say that fish now has even MORE similarity to the proverbial "$300 screwdriver"😁
They didnt wanna give him a fish filet knife!!!!!

Leave Dan alone!😮😮😮
Yuji looks like Dave2d
Daniel with gray hair. That's it, thats the comment.
Daniel san, show me, filet the fish
What was the oven temp? 300F or 300C?

What recipe even needs 300C? My oven goes to 250 max.

I just can't watch after seeing Daniel trying to fillet that fish. It was just too painful.
You dont fillet fish with those knives 😢😢
kumquat.... im an adult, im an adult.....
Nope couldn't do it 😂😂😂😂
I am so happy that there is no Scientist who talks bla bla at the end. Just two dudes appreciating their food. This is so wholesome and better.
i dont even like fish
i'll take my salmon with adobo seasoning, lemon and butter thank you lol
Yuji holds the record for the most amount spent on a dish.
You used the wrong knife!
It was brutal to watch that filleting 🥹🥲😭
Where’s Lorenzo
a romanesco is 18$???? what? in europe its like 2€
More click bait title. $350 WHOLE salmon, vs a $5 pre pack farmed fillet
the knife????
daniel is a b99 fan.........?
Can we talk about how handsome Daniel is?
Daniel broke down the Romanesco worse than he did the salmon… no offense… kinda… sorry.
He looks like Theo James
You need a filet knife
That fish not worth 300. Lol
I believe the caviar also raised the price
They actually claimed the fish was 350usd. After this dude butchered it, I wouldn't have paid 10 bucks for it.
