He really sells the shit out of it. Whatever he's performing. Saw him in Manon Lescaut at the Met last year and he did a fantastic job ... especially for having learned the role cold to cover for Jonas Kaufmann who canceled at the last minute.

Was listening to Pavarotti doing the same piece and this was in the recommendations on the side so I thought of checking it out despite the fact I don't know Alagna and never heard him sing before. Well, I'm very impressed; even right after listening to Pavarotti, I was thrilled by Alagna's rendition. Bravo!
@@nikolatesla2441 no sé si sea percepción mía, pero el caruso aunque es expresivo y tiene una potencia y color increíble de la voz siento que se le adelanta un poquitin a la orquesta. Alagna está super super acoplado al director, los matices y las agógicas, aparte de que si está super expresivo, como que se hace uno con toda la orquesta, cada vez que veo esta interpretación me conmueve muchisimo.
My goodness me, what a performance this was!!!! Granted, I still prefer Mario Lanza from his film For The First Time as my all time favorite, but this stands nicely against any other candidates for second (Pavarotti, for example). The singing here was top notch and the acting was rather simplistic but very believable and nowhere near a distraction from Alagna’s rich and full-bodies voice that magically sustains each and every note from beginning to end while still retaining a really effective contrast between different dynamics! I always liked Alagna, and I liked this performance! Well done😉
Roberto is my favorite tenor. He has such a strong voice - unbelievable. I heard him live in Berlin 16.09.2019 Cavalleria rusticana Deutsche Oper Berlin and this was really fantastic.
