No, he wined his way into her life. He wined until she dated him, wined so they got married. Wined again and she got pregnant, when she clearly didn't want kids. He's the worst.
@@tfphonechickPenny would be a broke failed homeless woman without Leonard. Through the course of 12 yrs, they heal each others' scars and insecurities and fulfill each other.
I missed the part where Leonard apologise to Penny, while playing his cello. One of the best Leonard-Penny moments.
My favourite is when Penny punches Sheldon in the nose for trying to steal the Lord of the Rings ring while Penny and Lenard are sleeping.

Kaley and Johnny apparently quietly dated for a while in real life. Although they eventually broke up, at least they're still close coworkers and pals.
I've never done dating, though many couples in real life remain friends even post breaking up.

The best couple on the show, rivaled only by Sheldon and Amy. I really loved how they both grew as the show went on, and helped each other to become better.

Best couple on the show, I like how they grew as a couple over the years.
Leonard isn't anything like the guys Penny was used to dating. She knew those guys weren't above cheating because that's usually how they met.
Leonard & Howard both want kids & choose long-term partners whom they wrongly assume feel likewise.

Penny, much like Kaley, is NOT girlfriend/spouse material. Penny is a TERRIBLE girlfriend/wife. She is one of those women who basically can’t be happy, and those are the WORST kind of people. Penny treats Leonard like shot, and she VERY likely to cheat on him, especially considering the business? Kaley is a diva and is DESPERATE for attention. I used to like her, but after season nine, just like Penny, she became simply…unbearable.
I thought they should have broken up and stayed that way. The only reason they stayed together was to keep the show going and to keep the audience watching. The relationship didn't make sense after their initial breakup.

@@cupcakeadventures8770 No, she's essential to the show & is an entertaining character with some likeable attributes. However, she & Leonard aren't suited as a couple. He's infatuated with her because of her looks. She settles for him as a safety net after the many flings she has with attached guys end.
On paper that would make sense but when you look at real relationships, often times the couples are complete opposites and shouldn't work but for some reason they just do, Penny might not seem like she's that into him but people have different ways of showing affection and Penny might not be that lovely dovey but she still cares for him deeply.

@@andrewq159I'm not going to say that you are wrong on this. It was also been brought up briefly in the show about their concerns of how different they were. The thing was though besides their differences. Leonard showed Penny that he was willing to work with her on their shortcomings. By being with her no matter what happens. Leonard didn't value Penny base on just her looks. He value her on her being just a generally beautiful person on the inside as well. As for Peeny she knew who he was but excepted because unlike the other men that she was with before him. Leonard treated her as someone special that she up till now never been given that before by anyone.

It was terrible that Penny got pregnant. Shows won't let couples be happy without children. Women who don't want children are made to change their minds about it on too many movies and shows. Penny should have remained insistent on not having children.

Anything from season 9-12 shouldn’t be on here. Everything from those four seasons is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. They completely ruined the vibe of the show and made their relationship unbearable to watch.

Penny doesn’t love Leonard, and if she does, the writers did a terrible job of showing it. Much like Penny, Kaley is a terrible partner. I feel bad for baby bastard Matilda. 🤦♂️. I predict that her and this Tom fellow will split sometime between this year and the end of next year.
Statistics indicate that promiscuous people (Penny), that get married end up unsatisfied with their partner, and so far, Kaley has failed to play a woman that isn’t slutty, drinks a lot, and genuinely cares/respects/love the man she’s with.
Furthermore, a woman like Penny with the job she has, is VERY MUCH likely to cheat eventually. I mean, in the D&D episode she demonstrated how much of a slut she is when she became the slut from the season two Christmas episode “ the bath item gift hypothesis”, when she pretended to like something she dislikes/hates, to get close to a married man. I wish Sofia Vergada were there to beat the shit out of Penny for what she did to Leonard (you know, back when she and Joe were still together).

To be honest Leonard and Penny's relationship was really toxic.. it's like Penny just settled and to be honest Leonard deserved better ... my favorite sitcom couple will always be Chandler and Monica.. their love was genuine.
Unpopular opinion but Leonard is my least favorite character and penny could’ve done way better.
He always looked down on her just because she wasn’t an academic but she was really smart and becomes a successful saleswoman without any help from Leonard.
He always judged, objectified, and belittled her. Not only that, let’s not forget that he cheated on her and just tells her right before they got married.
I share that opinion. Leonard was not a good match for Penny for reasons you described. He laughed at her for seeing a psychic. Penny would have been better off with an idiot. The idiots she dated would not have laughed at her, condescended to her, and they would have related to her struggles in community college.
For those of you who were disappointed by this series, how Penny was never a well developed character, and how it ended, let me recommend you this:

WAY BETTER than the actual show. It takes place THROUGHOUT the show, but has real and better character development for Penny. It's like 95% from Penny's POV, and it also gives her more depth by showing/including her family from Nebraska as well as her family. It definitely made me feel better about how disappointing the last five seasons were. The show should have just ended with Leonard and Penny getting married. Also this story puts Penny in moments where she wasn't. (Vegas and Camping Trip where the guys were Tripping while Camping; she gets high too). Also, there's a huge twist that makes the show honestly look dumb in romantic story telling. There's also more Penny vs Sheldon in it, to the point that Sheldon messes with her job and she messes with his schedule. Penny also doesn't become unlikable in it, and remains her "before she got married" self to the end. Her fate in this story is also a lot better. And Leonard's proposal is WAY better in it. They also show Leonard interacting with her family more often (they also show him asking for her parents blessing, which is a very well written moment) and he even tells Penny he's jealous of her for having nice parents. Leonard also gets REAL character development in this story too. He grows up and acts less nerdy but still remains a nerd (for example he missed half a day of Comic Con to take care of Penny when she gets a headache. That's what I call maturity. And when Raj uses the whip sound, to make fun of him for taking care of her, Penny gets all mad for them making fun of Leonard and she even mentions his problem with Emily and the Iron Maiden 😂. When all he's doing is something thoughtful). What's best about this story is that while they do act like their sitcom selves, Leonard and Penny develop more realistically like REAL PEOPLE. READ IT! Also the author is German, and I think he's a physicist, because he writes science dialogue that's offscreen. Penny also comes to hate Beverley a lot. She also stands up for him when someone flirts with her and denigrates him at the same time, because she knows he never was able to do it his whole life. It’s really beautiful. At one point she even calls him in her mind, her soulmate.
Penny and Leonard plan a REAL wedding, and they exchange actual beautiful vows, and makes it clear she wants to have a genuinely happy life with him because he at one point in the story says that “life will go by and all that a person will have is a regret of not doing something”. Leonard is a little philosopher in this story. He even tells Penny he’s thinking about changing his name to “Leonardo”, cause it get rid of the word “nerd” in his name, but ultimately doesn’t.
Penny is actually really smart in season seven and eight; she comes up with a way to trick Sheldon into giving them the apartment. You see the author writes a reason why Penny is uncomfortable with Leonard moving in with her. It is because of her asshole ex who cheated on her before she met Leonard. Penny thinks that her and Leonard also being neighbors is “convenient and practical”. So when Sheldon gets hospitalized in season four for weeks , Leonard in a very “Chandler Bing fashion” asks Penny to move in (in this story they don’t break up like in season three, and their relationship starts off WAY differently) with him as a trial. He’s smart and tells Penny he knows the real reason. When they get engaged she tells Leonard they can’t live in her apartment, so it’s either A trick Sheldon into moving out or B, find a new place, and “make it our own”. Sheldon is more intolerable and unbearable. When Leonard does move out, they basically show no real sympathy. Penny even tells Amy that it’s HER job to prepare Sheldon for when they get married since she’s his girlfriend “by will”. Excerpt:
Amy waved it off and looked at her. "Are you determined to live with Leonard after you're married?"
"Of course." Penny scrunched her face in confusion. "He'll be my husband, why would I not?"
"Well, I heard the secret of a successful relationship is separate apartments." Amy hesitated, clearly uncomfortable."
"Amy, did you tell Sheldon yet that he has to get used to the idea that he won't be living with Leonard anymore?" Penny asked her friend.
"Well..."
"Dammit, Amy!" Penny huffed.
"I haven't gotten the chance yet to approach the subject." Amy justified her recalcitrance. "I'm afraid he'll run away again."
"Amy, let me be clear." Penny said. "After Leonard and me are back from our honeymoon, we will live together. Whether it'll be here in this building or somewhere else, I don't know yet but Sheldon will not be living in the same apartment."
"Fine." Amy huffed.
"Go back a minute, clothing has an expiration date?" Bernadette interjected.
"Yes, it's called fashion." Penny nodded as Amy picked up the red dress from the top of the keep pile.
