Car looks and sounds amazing dude. I went with the q300 on mine and those 4 inch burnt tips look amazing. I do more highway driving so I took my Ets catback off. That was full 3 inch system with no mufflers or resonators. Plus the new exhaust law here in Cali sucks so I have to lay low.

@@JotaJotaSTI Just put some new wheels and tires on the car this weekend. Next plan is to wrap the roof black and add some other accents. Really want to get the subispeed carbon steering wheel and a nice shift knob.

This video the exhaust really has that rumble, compared to others where it doesn’t rumble at all. Slightly worried I’ll get it and it won’t rumble at all, have you done anything else for the car to sound how it does.

The borla bolted right up. Used the same spring bolts. And the stock 2.5 inch gasket for the 3.0 inch borla cat back

@@JotaJotaSTI It’s awesome. I get thumbs up. Has nice tone. I did have to play with the hangers. They didn’t line up quite right. Other people stated theirs was no issue. So maybe mine got mishandled and dropped or something. Bent the passenger side hanger. I fixed it tho.

Wow, that drone at 2000-2500 is loud. Love the sound though... maybe some sound proofing in the trunk will help dilute that drone?

Aside from air intake and the R400 what else have you done? I've got the '17 STI as well and just ordered the exhaust online. Wondering if the sound of your turbo was from stock boost?
Just cobb intake, accessport, and r400 exhaust. I have an AOS also but that doesnt change the sound of the car. Thanks for watching please like and sibscribe if you havent already!

I would check on invidias site but I believe I mentioned the socket sizes in the video and some wd40 to help take exhaust off hangers easier.

Thank you! No its not stock, the launch control is part of the Cobb Accessport.
The left (look at the car from the back) side tip looks quite close to the plastic surround. Just installed mine and it sits similar as well, did you manage to find a way to move it out a bit or did you notice the plastic surround melting?
I was able to adjust it by moving the hanger around

I would think if you have someone pull the exhaust back since hangers are rubber you should be able to slide them in. Those are made to hold more than enough weight.

I had mine installed about a month ago and sounds like a diesel truck when at idle , watching this video I notice that you put 2 gaskets on the adapter which I didn’t do

If you are connecting to the stock downpipe you will need an adapter since the stock dp and the r400 are different sizes.
Just ordered my r400 exhaust !! Whoop I’m excited .. how easy is it to install can I do it my self? Also dropping 1000 on new tires
Yea the install is easy just a few bolts. You may need something to prop the exhaust on to help you hold it in place as you bolt it on though. Nice what tires are you going with? I may need some soon also.

When you order it just let them know its stock to the 3inch invidia. I don't remember off the top of my head but I believe it was 2.5 inch to 3 inch.

It’s always recommended to get fresh gaskets when changing exhaust
How did you get the left side tips to be flush? I have exactly 1 centimeter from the plastic AFTER taking it to a shop on my 2020 series white STI.
You just have to keep adjusting the hanger

I noticed that the Q300 sounds a lot better in person rather than videos. I’ve been lookin into the R400. How much louder do you think the R is from the Q ?
Honestly havent heard them side by side. I did notice the r400 was louder in person than what i thought it would be.

@@raminramin85 yeah I ended up with the r400. It’s not that loud in my opinion, but the q300 is wayyy quieter. My buddy got the q300 on his 19 STI. We drove my car first, and after hearing the r400 we drove his car and his q300 sounded stock. If you’d prefer quiet, I’d say the Q would be your best bet!
I'm about to switch from the Q300 to the R400. Much nicer sound. Q300 is somewhat on the quieter end
I agree both are nice in their own way
as a fellow owner of also a 2017 STI, and I also have Invidia R400, the audio is still not doing the exhaust note justice, and that's just how "loud" it is.

If you are connecting it to a stock downpipe yes since the pipe sizes are different. You may have a small leak if you dont.
@@JotaJotaSTI Tommy Kentner boss i installed my r400 last weekend. At my boost meter it say 19.5 peak boost which i hit once. Now i dont see numbers close to that. Only hitiing 13-16 boost around 3-4k rpm. Is that thing normal? Also i feel slower after installation of the exhaust.

I don’t believe you need to but I highly recommend you get it makes installation much easier and leak free

My exhaust came out side ways with the left rear down and angled to the right the left side to high up to the right touching the diffuser
It took me honest like 3 hours to the the alignment perfect but I was working by myself so it made it much harder what you can do is take it to a muffler shop and they will aline it perfectly also if the pipe is touching anything it will burn it so be careful
How did you adjust the height. Mine are kinda saggy
You may need some stiffer hangers. You just have to play with it.

I was stock also. No tune or anything. Just the adapter that I mentioned in video to connect stock DP to exhaust.

Would I need to tune my car for a catback install?
Nope
Instead of using wd40 just throw some rubbing alchohol on there and spare yourself the pain of having petroleum on rubber which will break it down. I use rubbing alchohol all the time removing mountain bike grips and putting them back on. It's great because it evaporates fast and wont react in a negative way.
