Pass more!!!
Allow one, maybe two, people to bring up the ball. If not the defense can blitz the ball handler and no one is open down the court.

Don’t only screen for the person with the ball
@jaylenboyd104 offball play in general. Like if someone standing roght in front of u. Move a lil. Don't cut constantly. Spacing. 3s or more than 2s
The biggest defensive tip that no one knows about is, if you half hold the defence button you won’t fully lock on the the player your marking. The button (L2 on PS) is pressure sensitive, the advantage is that you can recover quicker from angle changes allowing you to stay in between the player your defending against and the basket

@@luckyzcorner Just cause you know how to do it doesn’t mean you can do it🤣 That’s just one of the aspects of 2K that I know others don’t about,I’ve got others if you wanna hear them, like how to soft lock the game on any of the 2K events, such as End point, etc

People say i am a trash PG because i dont dribble my life away in random rec. I take 2 three dribbles if i dont have it i pass but these people be standing around not cutting like they dont want to play actual basketball and just want me to dribble my life away.
Exactly…your doing the right thing
There's a happy medium between dribbling your life away and making a pass after just 2 dribbles. Being able to move around draws defenders to you and creates more opportunities for your teammates to get open. You're passing it off too early.
I hate the "dribble god in training" ahh PG's they never hit me on wide open cuts or when im wide in the corner after the cut.
They probably have catch and shoot builds or weak finishing. Be nice if 2k let you have a suggestion on teammate player types.
If you have a bunch of catch and shoot teammates with low passing you’ll have to put fear in the defense, either beat on a drive or be a threat from 3, forcing them to double/ hedge.
Sold my PS5 about a month ago, had a 84 WP 61 % from 3 in rec.

I could completely sympathize… avg 13 ast a game in my sleep and get thrown off the pg cuz I prefer to “pass first “as a pg get my teammates involved and not resort to overdribbling the shot clock away for the purpose of “iso” basketball… Imagine wanting to play actually 🏀

1. Mic OFF.
2. Personal Music Playlist ON.
3. Pass The Ball.
4. Create Space For You & Your Teammates.
5. Play With Your Teammates, Not Against Them.

@@luckyzcorner I'm not saying communication isn't important or can't be fun, but until the toxicity goes away, I will speak for those on the behalf of the 2K community that are humbled and just want to enjoy the game that my habits are the way to go until things change.
That's how I play mic on mute and the TV on mute. My music in the background.
@@hansolodolo1672 Best decision ever made until the 2K community gets their act together which is probably never. Too much immature squeakers roaming the earth playing this game. Take one shot and miss that one shot, you already suck. Ugh. Toxic at the highest level it's ever been right now and 2K is to blame as well because of the microtransactions. You can buy straight to level 40, doesn't get much toxic than that. I've heard people brag about being level 40 so quickly, I'm like are you serious? Mic stays off, bro.

Man I’m with you but people don’t understand. The first 6 season I been trying to play my role on random rec as a pass first point guard. Avg about 6 assists 12 points and 60% fg and 3pt. Averaging about 8 shot attempts per game. But it wasn’t fun bc I noticed about 70% it was me sacrificing my fun to get people involved who don’t understand “playing your role” they would either ball hog and dribble for 20 sec out of the 24 sec possession and pass when they get boxed, people who took 25 shot attempts and made only 9 or something, You got center dribbling the ball up doing dumb 💩. That’s when I realized man F this shit I’m gonna start looking for my shit first. And ever since I been avg 20 ppg, 60%+ from fg and 3pt. I get people open with my scoring now. Obviously I’m not a douche who left right the whole time to Chuck shit up but I put myself first now.
Yea it’s no fun as a PG when you are the only person on the court w/ vision. You’re getting your teammates the ball in good spots and no one is returning the favor
I know exactly what you mean. Rarely do I ever get the ball back after I pass it up in the half court. Even if I’m wide open. Most folks will just try and go 1vs the world. You ain’t lyin at all.

What roles? Everyone wants to shoot 40 shots, score 100 and mind you half those shots contested as FUCK. Turn your mic on to say anything and it's gg. I'm a solid 200 games in and have only ran into 2 other players out of the HUNDREDS that pass and make the right play instead of dribbling out the shot clock. 24 is honestly a good game, the Randoms get worse every year and I don't understand how.
I just wish 80% of players knew that there isn't only an offensive side but a defensive side to the game also. Whether it's friends or randoms it's like everyone doesn't play defense but saying I'm back on offense though like bruh really

On #4 I leave my icons up the entire time, but I learned to shoot in any scenario with my right stick. I'll take it down sometimes because sometimes you get those extreme cutters, so I'll throw an up, but other than that, I've always thought icons should be up to hit an open man within a split second or it's too late a lot of times. I've never done the 5th one. I MIGHT start doing that lol

I was with you until "roles" as long as everyone can do everything roles is out...2k would have to go back to archetypes limits for people to accept roles more👈💯
No build can do everything stop with this bullshit you can't make a player who 84 close shot 94 dunk 90 standing dunk 91 layup 92 mid range high 92 3pt 91 pass accuracy 92 ball handle 90 swb 88 interior 94 peremiter 91 steal 92 block and 93 rebound 86 speed 83 acceleration 92 strenght 82 vert and 99 stamina when you can make builds like this yes bulds can do everything until then the builds can't do everything
@rares-ti7vb speak for urself I make 1 build every year that does literally everything idk wtf u talking about gang and I'm pg lmao doing everything don't meant high attributes in every category and if u need that ur absolutely trash my build can finish layup very well dunk on ppl WITH animations step backs spin jumpers middys 3s long 3s free throws pass well and throw dots break ankles and quick and my interior defense is SURPERB and I'm 6'4 and have lock down perimeter defense can steal the ball (not how I like to play defense personally) i prefer to lock up 24 seconds I block and snatching block and get rebounds well cuz of my physicals and are fast and strong with decent stamina wanna y I can do that because I know what's enough
In my opinion I'll agree roles should be based on on skillset because ive ran pg with sgs that can run the offense and vice versa and locks who can actually get a bucket/ make a play this role shit makes 2k wildly boring it's basically highschool basketball no versatility at all and tbh thats the community's fault in my opinion they love 2k not basketball
@@GODLY_WU Yes you don't need high stats everywhere but what I meant was that the build still has like 2 things or 3 things that he is good at still having like 1 or 2 major weakness. Yes your build can do everything because you learned how to use lower stats to your advantage but your build can't do everything at a high level at the point where there are no roles. My point was that a build still has like 2 things he is great at or 3 things that he is good or decent at and its up to the player how he plays. A build has to sacrifice something to be good in other areas.
@rares-ti7vb That's where the user comes into play which balances out it shouldn't ever be build anyone can do everything on it'll turn into 2k21 next generation and I definitely can play at a high level and have before I realized 2k proam scene comp scene in general is terrible and no basketball is played it's just 2k shit but yea u can definitely play at a high level but ur skillset matters just as much if not more than the build the reason ppl mess up they're build they like to ride the meta in hopes to be decent ik my personal strengths and weaknesses and make my build around that because what's a major weakness to u can still be done for example I have a 30 something steal and still get steals...good positioning and timing was all I need thats a weakness my build got that I can cover and vice versa surface level it seems u can't do everything but tbh it depends on what u find enough for each attribute I don't need a 90+ 3 to go 7 for 7 from 3 but alot of these other guys do it's very simple the meta got mfs not being used to thinking
