Except for the point where chekuthan said we do not need to give over respect to Mammootty or Mohanlal, rest of his points were illogical 1) a good actor is one who does any type of role irrespective of age of gender. Let actors experiment with their boundaries, if it is good the audience will accept it. 2) to review a movie or to discuss about the fine details of a particular movie, one has to experience the movie. Otherwise it is not a constructive criticism. 3) Malayalam movies are made for the malayali audience, not for Pan India or worldwide. At Tom cruise movie will not be accepted by majority of the malayali audience. all movies are region or language specific.
I don't think he is right when he said Mammootty or Mohanlal shouldn't get so much of respect. See I understand, they are just actors but characters they portrayed had played a significant role in our life. Yeah, we get a lot of learnings from our Parents and Gurus but at the same time, these characters also help us to understand what's right and wrong. Character played by Mammootty in Valiyettan, Mohanlal in Varavelppu, don't you think, it inspired us in our real life. Out of the 10 friends I have only one friend heard Mammooty's name, but never watched any of his films. That is the truth. Mallu fans are ignorant. Even great actors can be found in Korean films. If you've seen movies from all over the world, Mohanlal is nowhere near it. It's the same as asking a Malayalee if he knows any Bengali actors or films.

1) a good actor is one who does any type of role irrespective of age of gender. Let actors experiment with their boundaries, if it is good the audience will accept it.
2) to review a movie or to discuss about the fine details of a particular movie, one has to experience the movie. Otherwise it is not a constructive criticism.
3) Malayalam movies are made for the malayali audience, not for Pan India or worldwide. At Tom cruise movie will not be accepted by majority of the malayali audience. all movies are region or language specific.
I don't think he is right when he said Mammootty or Mohanlal shouldn't get so much of respect. See I understand, they are just actors but characters they portrayed had played a significant role in our life. Yeah, we get a lot of learnings from our Parents and Gurus but at the same time, these characters also help us to understand what's right and wrong. Character played by Mammootty in Valiyettan, Mohanlal in Varavelppu, don't you think, it inspired us in our real life. Yeah, that's actually a craft of scriptwriters and directors but to portray it so beautifully on screen and building up that effective impact in us needs to be appreciated and respected. Not only Mohanlal and Mammootty, every single actors needs to get respected.

Cheku is right. I have friends from Maharashtra and UP. They never heard about Malayalam actors. Out of the 10 friends I have only one friend heard Mammooty's name, but never watched any of his films. That is the truth. Mallu fans are ignorant. Even great actors can be found in Korean films. If you've seen movies from all over the world, Mohanlal is nowhere near it. It's the same as asking a Malayalee if he knows any Bengali actors or films.
