easiest rule... at 100 power and 86 angle with 0 wind , your shot on most weapons will land on the edge of the circle around you .... and its around 64 angle with 100 power with shoot off the map unless you are on the edge ... dont use the shot tracer to align your shot unless you know the next weapon you are using shoots exactly as the one with the tracer
if you wanted get better-ish on this or at least learn using angles.

Basic Angles You Should Know about shellshock (without wind):
Single shot wepons
100, 88 = half of circle
100, 86 = edge of circle
100, 79 = half of map length
100, 66 = whole map length
100, 24 = whole map length
Multiple shot wepons (Stream, Counter 3000, Three-Ball)
37, 37 = edge of circle
64, 46 = half of map length
88, 47 = whole map length
Boomerang
100, 66 = edge of circle
100, 46 = half map length

Maka took 64 from his own attack and then 40 from the post-mortem attack.
So Maka was left at 3 hp

Not all weapons shoot the same.. STOP shooting 100 power......use more angle and lob especially with wind ..will carry it further ... you only want to use 100 power with 0 wind or in a direct shot , but depending on how far it is , you still have to adjust for drop
