#Rocksmith #Metal #Guitar - Hudba
*EASYY*
*Smash like on video because guitar is life*
More rock Smith please. Have you found the lag while playing? Cause you smashed it bro 🤘
Meanwhile, im not smash like on your video.
I SLAP IT
I've been playing rocksmith since its release. It has helped me tremendously once you get used to it
That was so much fun lol...dont over do this one but keep it goin please
Bruh you were supposed to be on "Learn a Song" mode.
You dont fail on that mode and the game does show you tabs
You were on the wrong mode dude.
Learn a song mode is the mode where you learn the songs, control the difficulty and it has a dynamic difficulty
"are you supposed to learn a song before you play it?" - nik 2020
Answer is:
Depends.
Ok, I can now see how that might sound ridiculous
Yes lol... the main mode
Rocksmith: literally has a mode called "learn a song" which teaches you the song and doesn't fail you no matter how badly you butcher a song
Kmac doesn't and he does well for himself. 😂
*learns complex Periphery song by ear in 3 days
*struggles on medium in musical video game
That medium difficulty rekt me
In Nik's defense, the Rocksmith interface is hella confusing at first glance, I couldn't understand how you could coordinate without having 2 autonomous eyes like a chameleon...
Lower difficulties are often surprisingly hard in musical games. But Rocksmith specifically... it's quite hard to get used to the "colors mean different strings". It just doesn't map very well to how people usually note down music, or how people _play_ a guitar. It's not too bad for single notes or things like power chords, but you just don't get a good view of what you're supposed to do, and the fretboard doesn't help much either. I also have trouble keeping up with the position changes - it isn't quite visible enough where you're supposed to play. Fret number would work so much better for orientation.
@@LuaanTi calibration is ass on that game
I’ve been playing it for about two months now and love it. The only thing that irritates me is you need a digital to analog audio converter to eliminate the audio latency
"I love how video game companies even forget that bassist exist" they didnt this game is how I learned bass
Same
I've been wondering if this game had bass.
@@CPurdiePlays The game has lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and bass. With some songs you can sing too.
The original Rocksmith made you pay $10 to unlock bass capability, and that is the most bullshit thing ever.
@@Celtamongstmen2 lmao thats funny
This is the equivalent to someone showing you guitar tabs and ask you to play them perfectly the first time and then getting mad when you inevitably fail.
Mmm nah its meant for beginners to start on easy and work their way up in an attempt to teach in a way that may be more entertaining to some than just stairing at a tab sheet.
@@2Poor4UserNameI haven't played RockSmith for a couple years, but one thing I remember pissing me off was going through "easy" on a song and they'll keep hitting (for example) a B on the 2nd fret of the A string. When you get "easy" down and move to "medium", they'll change that B to the 7th fret of the E string!! Like why teach me one position, then change it on me? It still pisses me off just thinking about it
@@DedsecEric only things i can think of is to keep it more entertaining. if ya change things up a little, casual people are less likely to get bored. it would probably also help you get more used to the instrument and help you adapt to change. might also be a way to simplify a song and still have it sound somewhat similar to the actual thing much like when people are new to guitar they always seem to do that little 1 string smoke on the water thing.
In all fairness he did the score attack first instead of actually going to "learn a song"
Yeah
The proper way you're meant to learn songs is playing on the automatic notes where it slowly adds more notes and speeds it up as you improve so you learn more and more complex arrangements leading up to the full version as the band's guitarist played it
"This is harder than real guitar." quote of the video.
I like rocksmith - but it is not the most efficent way to learn the song form me - maybe you need to get used to it. However it is fun :)
It was tho
@@SimonMedia666 it's literally tabs in rolling format... how is that any harder than normal?
@@NikNocturnal ok boomer
Should've tried riff repeater that's how you learn a song on rocksmith.
I mean, all jokes aside Rocksmith tricked me into practicing years back when I was trash at guitar. I was literally like 6:43
Next thing I know, I'm playing guitar outside of the game, went to a damn music college and everything.
Now I've been playing for about 7-8 years seriously and can learn songs by ear and write technical riffs for days.
People can trash on this game all they want, but with everything that's happened to me over the years it's not an exaggeration to say guitar is the only reason I'm still here.
Man I fucking love guitar now, and I bought this game as a joke lmao.
Tools is Tools.
Every pro guitarist recommendeds the things they practice.
Problem is, that's what worked for them.
Same with what amps and other such devices.
But overall, music always has some secret surprise for ya.
Sometimes even a lesson.
We just have to listen and let it take us there.
To be honest i had a very hard time with the game. I tried it when i was in my early learning and got confused by everything. Like the easy lessons would be showing you some techniques, different variations. And then out of fucking nowhere they make you play a song that has all these techniques while adding new strings you didn't train with... one of my biggest issues was changing strings/frets fast but it's like the game expected the techniques to be the hard part... while it's more about using several in a quick succession.
I found the game cool but i'd often be disgusted by what it expected from you while the difficulty felt extremely unbalanced.
Now that I am way more comfortable with my guitar (it's been 6 months si ce i started) i've been planing to play it again but honestly it acted more as a deterrent to me, like the expectations the game had from me just made me feel like there was something wrong with me
Even just the small time I had with the game I think it has insane benefits that I wish I had when starting guitar to be honest
@@NikNocturnal a friend tried to learn guitar with rocksmith and somehow he managed to get one easy song done ... but his skills just fit the game in this case. no real muting, playing only with 2 fingers on the left hand and he was so focussed on the screen that he couldnt play it without "seeing the music" in the game.
then i took my guitar interface to him and recorded his playing and showed him the take with just what he was playing ...
my intention was to show him, that he should train first some guitarskills and learn it properly / clean ... but that was the day when he never picked up a guitar again :/
Makozer agreed. I believe a beginner should spend at least six months getting foot habits and techniques before going to rock smith. If not you’ll never sound anything decent outside rocksmith
I always quit trying to learn guitar every time I tried but when I tried rocksmith I finally started to actually learn and felt like I was learning and not just failing over and over. I am really glad this game exists. :)
I’m thinking about getting it
@@TheNerdProblems I just got it and it's awesome
I've had it since 2012, without it I know I would not even be able to play a simple tune. Really helped me. The real learning curve is being able to look at the screen knowing what colour means what string and so on, that takes a few months to get down without thinking. Once you have that down I could play an easy song without ever having heard it before and do pretty good. Amazing bit of tech
Why would you give up? I don’t get it
@@matthewlav1360 Um that's just a human thing.
People give up at the slightest form of difficulty , only very few stick to difficult things.
It's hard because you already know how to play. This game helped me more than any guitar teacher Ive ever had.
The game is crucial to keep you motivated in the beginning stages. I started learning in 2009, but it was only in 2013 that it clicked with me
i took like a 3 month break from heavy stuff and learned cords and stuff, then i was surprised how well i did when i started laying heavier stuff again
The game is hard because he's purposely not playing it correctly. Not once did he use the "Learn a Song' feature, which is the main part of the game.
@@joshuaholmes6857 yeah he has guitar pro for that..
@@GrotesqueSmurf Ok, but then don't complain about a game if you're the one not using it correctly.
*man gets mad at rock smith for 10 minutes*
Perfect alternative title
"I could have just learned the song in 20 mins with tabs" Rocksmith's arch nemesis right here
Tabs is evil
@@NikNocturnal That's what Learn A Song is for... Score Attack is not to learn a song, it's to get a score....
Tabs are for if you already mostly know the song and just need to go over a couple parts. They're terrible for learning a song from the beginning, it doesn't show any of the feel of the song, and online tabs are almost always wrong.
@@matturner6890 if they are right, they're the basic Barre chords ECT. The tabs that are free are almost never right.
I find that statement highly suspicious to be honest. At the end of the day, rock Smith is just tabs from a different perspective and colour coded
Haha nice! Took me a while to get used to the note highway.
It was an easy transition for me cause I grew up playing guitar hero, of course it was a little weird at first but it’s easy to get used to 😊
Mr buckeye it's super cool to see you back on yt after this long, your parkway drive covers made me learn guitar

You weren’t in practice mode
Yeah, practice mode there isn't a fail feature.

But it's not as fun if I can't fail
@@NikNocturnal riff repeater is the coolest thing.
Let's you pick multiple or single 15-20 second song segments and repeatedly practice that segment

"You could literally make soup in the amount of time it takes to launch." - Damn so true 🤣
Taught myself bass on this game and now years later I'm playing to thousands on a weekly basis... fair to say I'll have strong words with anyone that says that this game is trash.
certainly not trash but i know some people who only played rocksmith and couldn't play on their own even after multiple years of "playing" guitar. It's a nice addition to playing guitar or bass but you're not really playing an instrument if you rely on visual cues
@@moritzschumann7177 oh no i agree completely but it's basically an introduction to tabs for most people. You then just need to be able to bring what you've learnt on there and play from memory.
This game is fucking trash bro, nah I'm just playing. Just ordered a real tone cable through Amazon so I can start back playing with it. It's what Guitar Hero would have been if they had more ambition and foresight. But without Guitar Hero, we probably wouldn't have Rocksmith.
But why not just get guitar pro instead and use it to learn the songs the correct way to begin with, in an easier and less stressed out environment? (answer probably is that rocksmith is more commonly known amongst non-musicians..?)
@@GrotesqueSmurf because learning guitar "the right way" is a tedious and boring activity that most people including myself don't have the patience for.
Rocksmith keeps you engaged. Makes it very easy to see your own progress. Which in turn makes it much less boring and tedious. Goes from being a chore to being a fun game you can play while having the same effect
Do more rocksmith!! It's entertaining content
He will do more, just come hangout at the stream.
Glad you dig it!

Oh hey chain
The true rocksmith god
Rocksmith took me from just being able to play song riffs to being able to play complete songs, including solos. But there is one big caveat. Its note detection mechanism as great as it is gets you to play on the back beat and staccato, and you have to grow outside of the game to improve upon that. But riff repeater is a wonderful tool because of the feedback you get from playing, something you just don't get with tabs and a metronome, only your ear will tell you if you get it or not, and sometimes your ear is more forgiving than the game 😉

You need to use "Learn a Song". Sort by Tuning. Open Tools, Difficulty Settings and turn "Override to Max" on.
Disconnected is great too. Use your own amp and effects with no feedback.
Exactly, then set your favorites and go to nonstop play and you're golden.
@@hisaceinthehole3426 shows you all the notes right away. It's the only way to play. Dynamic difficulty is more confusing than just not playing the notes you can't get to yet. Eventually you will.
And turn off the thing that adjusts difficulty when you make mistakes.
Riff repeater is where the game shines. You learn each section then string a few sections together to learn the transitions and eventually you know the whole song.

I found out that using windows xbox recording feature works pretty well.
All you have to do is default the rocksmith cables as the microphone, remove exclusivity from either the game or .ini file and most importantly keep active the sound mixer in the microphone windows tab. The recording will pick up on that and you can have the video and audio togheter. Plus you can record actively or passively whenever you get the feeling that you did a good run cuz for sure activating the recording myself makes me feel a bit anxious. xD
There is actually a Bass mode for bassists in the game Nik.

Hand of blood is hard homie. You did better than I would. The arcade games help you perfect you techniques.
To be fair the game is ways easier once you remember the string colors. For me this is great to learn songs, especially with the Riff repetitor feature.
Rosksmith tip: you can sort the songs by tuning. Whenever I play I tart playing songs in standard E and go lower and lower. Also, Learn a song mode won't stop the song when you screw up.
thank god i thought i was the only guitarist who struggled with rocksmith
it's been a while since I played it, but there is a weird kind of adjustment you gotta make to really get into it. I'm not as technical as Nik by a long shot, but it does expect you to play incredibly precise, like the game thinks you're a machine or something.
personally, I was more annoyed trying to play Guitar Hero or Rock Band.
@@ideitbawxproductions1880 I find it lenient with chords. It asks me to play a F, I play the arguably easier Fmaj7, and it validates it.
Would say the best way to use rocks ith is just as a tab reader pretty much, you can use it without a cable and juet through your own amp and it gives you a backing track and tabs easily. I don't really use it much how it's meant to be used at all
the problem is that all people just asume "hey, i know how to play guitar, i can play this" but this is a game that teaches how to play with their method, which is not bad but is different. If you abide by their rules and play like a noob at the beggining, it WILL help you improve. I know this, i couldn't play anything, now i even can play some dream theater songs. I understood time, how to sync with the rythm section, scales, improvising (hell the session mode is the best thing in this game) it really helps when you don't have friends to play with...or friends at all.... *goes back to his dark corner*
Once you get used to it you can play songs without even learning them it's really great
Rocksmith has a special place in my heart. I remember when the first Rocksmith came out, and I was near to throw away playing guitar. I bought it and said to myself that this is my last attempt to guitar. And I'm playing like 8 years now, played some gigs and have a tech death band
Dude same, except I got the 2014 version. I have not put down the guitar since, and am now looking for a cover band now.
Link to your band bro
Its basiclly one of my life goal.. 😅 Techdeath project
Real talk rocksmith is what made me finally learn to play the guitar i had owned for years. Being able to play along (even if im only hitting like 10% of the notes) with songs I already like was a lot more motivating than other guitar learning games where you just have to learn covers of public domain songs or original songs.
Just came across your channel, love the content!
i basically learned guitar with rocksmith lul
me too :)
Same haha
Same
Same, you have to slow down the faster songs so you know what the notes are.
Same but you have to start slow and work your way up and it also helps to organize your songs by tuning. Tears don't fall is my favorite. Got some sections going blank now :)
As someone who has played Rocksmith I can confirm it really is actually harder than real guitar weirdly.
Seeing someone so much better than me struggle just like me is oddly validating lol.
Sneering Imperialist it’s fantastic for the basics but once you get into the complicated licks the lag time just kills it
It takes a special kind of genius to record a voice with so little treble and yet still manage to capture this much noise.
Lolololol! Awesome! Do more rocksmith videos! The songs make me want to fire up my zune and plug into the aux jack
Time to get copy right striked...

You re f-ing hilarious to watch. Love your channel. Always brightens my day.
Love your videos man, this is freaking hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've taught my ex-Girlfriend how to play acoustic guitar and noticed she learned pretty quickly. Eventually, the "I wanna learn electric guitar" moment arrived, but I was so god damn busy with 2 jobs, I didn't have time to teach her... Not long after, I went to WalMart, in the electronic section (of course, I'm a gamer after all) and saw Rocksmith... I was like "Why didn't I think about it before?". So I bought it, brought it home, showed her how to use it, then 2 days later, she was on my electric guitar, playing almost every song on Medium... I almost teared up.. I was like "Oh my God.... .. They were wrong... Video games CAN teach us great things!"! She eventually learned almost everything at Hard after a while. It really does the trick!.. But when I tried it, I got mad at it for the same reasons as Guitar Hero.. You know why! Easier modes than master skips a lot of pick strokes or notes, so I tended to play them (cuz I knew the frickin' song) and got punished for that.. I never touched it again.. ahahahaha!
@@jamesjackson3242 totally true! ... but slowing down the whole song on even parts of the song while the rest of the instruments are also playing would be a royal pain to hear... hahaha
@@jimmygrenier9668 i know its a month later but just wanted to say that you should be able to instantly level up the song to expert level and just play it at the highest level. this game is more a tool in that you can set the level of tolerance like in ddr to be more forgiving or to not level you down so you can just practice and play. and there is also just a play along to the track mode that doesn't need to have your scored on it as well as a jam session and tone designer for messing with sounds. you could honeslty use rocksmith as your real rig if you wanted to with a little ingenuity.

Once you get used to the color correlation it’s easy to learn a song fast with itn
Yeah that's the hard part, and just adjusting to how they throw all the notes at you so quickly.
I find I can learn a song way faster through tab than Rocksmith even though I'm decent at it. The fact everything goes by so fast means I treat it like sight reading so I don't actually retain what Im playing, with just looking at a tab for 20 minutes I'll have it
@@ClikcerProductions I agree with that. I really liked Rocksmith and played alot of it in my first year and half of playing guitar, but at some point I realized I had to stop trying to learn songs through it because I noticed that I didn't actually remember anything when it was time to play them on my own.
@@MrBX5 Rocksmith is a great tool to get used to the instrument and learn fundamental techniques in a fun way as a beginner, but yeah I definitely wouldn't call it a good tool to learn songs

This was the most incoherent thing I have ever read.
If you plan on doing this more, There is a setting that inverts the notes on the fretboard in the game. Makes the low notes on the bottom and the high notes on the top. Found this really useful if you know how to read actual music as it doesn't feel so backwards.

Seeing someone who’s good at guitar suck at rock smith like me makes me happy
Been playing the guitar since I’m 14. I’m 23 now and I didn’t find the motivation to play since I wasn’t getting better and struggled learning new stuff for months. Rocksmith actually helps me with that stuff. Also CDLC is just oh my god unlimited possibilities
I started playing this game recently with my friend as he’s a beginner guitarist and rocksmith has been a good excuse for him to pick up the guitar. I love the technical exercise mini games. I’m now in the top 1000 on the lead board for the duck shooting game and in the top 2000 for string skip saloon! 🤘🏻 love your content!
Great video! Highly entertaining! Your videos are well edited and sound great! I am impressed. How are you connecting to your computer? I think I want to try this game myself now.
