No, Nintendo loves to test their ideas in games so they can use them later. For example, Super Mario 3D World’s clear pipes had curved edges, and in Odyssey the green pipes also are curved. While it’s not the best example, it gives me hope that a Mario Maker title may be in consideration.

I really wanted a New Super Mario All-Stars that included all 5 games that I've already paid for. Not trying to be a hater, but I would've been so much more excited to buy that than a port for the same price with the same graphics and almost no new content. I really enjoyed New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the 3DS so much! I get a lot of memories from my past by playing the game a lot! It will be 5 years since I got that game in a few days, and I want this game to celebrate that anniversary year!
Just bought my Switch for this game and Zelda. Love sidescrollers, and this game is beautiful with that retro feel to it.

I remember when i was a kid and i got new supermario for my ds. It was my favorite game ever. I even got a mario nintendo, the back of it was customized to look like mario jumping on goombas and when you opened the ds it was a metalling red color. I have some real good memories with this game.
