It is usually the dog which attracts all the interest when it comes to truffle hunting, but in the white truffle season, the hunters have a hard job to do. Hi Septimus, once the white truffle season is over I will use your idea for a video. What species of truffle are you interested in finding? I am not familiar with Bulgaria but I know from friends it is a great place to go trufflle hunting..

Thanks Alister! This kind of truffle, smooth and round, is actually referred to by hunters as a potato. Chefs value them because they are easy to shave over a dish and there are no cracks and nobble for bits of soil to hide - we also like them to as they are less prone to breaking when we are unearthing them

Thanks!! All of the growth factors, - trees, altitude etc will vary from country to country and with each species of truffle. However generally speaking you are looking at beech, oak and hazel

White truffles don't leave a burn mark, generally speaking they are a lot harder to find!

Sadeq I am not sure, I have never hunted or dealt with desert truffles. I have heard that they taste amazing though!
What is truffle ?
Truffles are underground fungi which are found using trained dogs. The truffles in this video are the rarest - precious white or tuber magnatum. Our family finds truffles for a living
Is it worth slot of money?
