RE: Samsung 2023 large screen 4k TVs. In addition to being ridiculously complicated, there are 6 more points to consider: 1. For anyone over 35 to 40, you likely require reading glasses to see newspaper print; the type size on these new Samsung remotes is smaller than newsprint and too small to read w/o glasses or microscope for anyone over 35 to 40; likewise, there is little contrast between the colors for the tiny buttons, which don't stand out from the very dark background. 2. The solid black remote is simply too small for anyone with medium sized hands or larger; and too dark and small to find when it gets lost, as remotes inevitably do. This is why Roku remotes come with a 10" long purple cord attached, so you can see them at a glance and retrieve them easily. I have an expensive British soundbar which came with an even smaller, very tiny black remote with confusing, poorly labeled buttons. As was inevitable, it has been lost for 2 or 3 years. The company simply refuses to sell replacement remotes, requiring purchasers to buy and use universal remotes designed for the European market. I live in the USA, so the company's specified universal remote is not sold here. That soundbar is now a boat anchor. The catfish love it. 3. The 2023 user manuals are not printed, but only available on the TV screen, unless you want to find and access yours on the Internet using a large iPad or a regular laptop or desktop computer, and if you have one - your printer. Since it has about 270 pages, give or take, you can waste money, printer paper, ink cartridges or toner, and lots of your time printing it out, and then binding it. A printed, English copy of the manual should have been in the box. 4. Older Samsung remotes for its HD TVs were well-designed and well-made, and will control 93% of the available functions on these new models. However, you will still need the new remote, if you can find it, to work the other 7% of the functions. 5. I bought my 2023 70" Samsung directly from the factory, at considerable savings. My prior TV, which still works great, is one of Samsung's last 65" Plasma models, which was made over 10 years ago. I bought it directly from Samsung and it came with a printed user manual. it's never missed a beat or been in for service, but it doesn't have 4K resolution. After getting this 2023 model, the picture, especially of sporting events, is much sharper if all the settings are just right, and much worse if they are set incorrectly. 6. The only way for non-engineers over the age of 30 to learn to use any remote with the 2023 Samsung models is to go to CZcams, which is why you are watching this video on this channel and reading my comment to it.
I seriously never thought Id need video for control but trying to figure out this one needed it haha. Still not sure what the 123 and 4 color button do.
Just got our new TV yesterday. Have ask the technician for help but forgot to ask how to you do a space after a word. Can't seem to do it. Any help is appreciated.
I freely admit that I am a senior non-techy person. This Samsung One remote (solar charged) is very hard for me to figure out. I am trying to schedule some programs to record. My manual says to push the 123 button (did that) and navigate to the "control pad." I am a literal person: among the 10-15 icons that appear at the bottom of the screen, there is NO "control pad." How do I get there? Where is it? What does it look like? (Videos are the most helpful instruction method for me) Do I need to connect an external device to store these recordings, or are they just kept somewhere I can access them (like the Cloud? Internal in my smart TV?)? HELP! And thank you.
I don’t think it has a DVR on it so you would have to attach one like the Hopper that dish has and then you would have to go to the second input in settings. Click on that and then record it through the hopper. Good luck thanks for watching.
How does one connect a Roku stcik to Samsung a QNC60-32" in our study...The other 2 Samsung's we have use ROKU..Love them!. By the way very good review, Sir!
You just need to put it into one of the HDMI’s and then navigate with your Samsung to that input device on your home screen and click it and then you’d be using your Roku remote
On the top right of remote there is a button with multiple pictures on it is the PIP? Also on mine which I just got I have to have volume in high 40s to hear tv. Is that normal? Very good video.
That’s a good question. I would say give it a try and see if it works. It should I don’t have DIRECTV or dish. I got rid of both of those and just have streaming now. Thanks for watching.
There are no numbers on this thing, but you can go to the Samsung app and then they have numbers for the different channels and you can scroll through them using the navigation circle
THANK YOU WHOLE BIG BUNCHES for showing me how to adjust the Volume !! Added Note after 2 months.... I keep " MISPLACING " this DINKY Remote !!! It's VERY HARD to keep track of it due to its DINKY SMALL size ! VERY FRUSTRATING !!!
What you have to do is click on the timeline button which will stop it and then you go up to the circle for navigation. I need to push the right to move forward or the left to move back. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Use your remote to go into settings and make sure that the audio is set on TV speakers and not optical or Bluetooth and come back and try your remote again remember to make the mute music or sound go higher you slide your finger under the bar and push it towards the top and vice versa for it to go down. Good luck. Thanks for watching. Oh also make sure it’s not muted, because if you push on the bar, it mute the TV
I don’t know if you can change that if you want to go to your DIRECTV or some other cable you have to go to an input which means you have to go to the left map drop down and go to devices and then choose which input Samsung makes it very complicated unfortunately
2 Questions and complaints. Why can’t we change the channels the normal way by hitting the number buttons. I now have to spend 10 seconds to go from the news to weather channel, or to Fox to watch football? Do I have to see if I can return this TV? My old tv, which was a Samsung had buttons so I could flip channels on commercial breaks. I can’t believe I spent over $2000 on this awesome tv instantly turned crappy. Is there a way I can do it or a good reason why I can’t flip channels or switch channels fast, I’m tempted to post on Facebook to get a Sony.
I just believe that they’re trying to move everybody away from the old style channels to apps or streaming apps. If you have Comcast spectrum or AT&T, they give you a separate box and an additional where you can do that. Good luck happy holiday. Thanks for watching.
@@Anonymous-zv9hk i just now have to use 2 remotes. This odd one for power and volume, and the RCN one for everything else. It took me at least 3 weeks to train my mom how to work the combo. I don’t get how she’s a doctor, knows all the medical jargon, know all drugs and side effects but can’t work a cell phone or remote control. She figured out FaceTime quick so she could talk to my sister-in-law and her newborn granddaughter about 2 year ago but texting is over her head and how using a remote control works. I know there has to be a way to program it right but this remote control is retarded. You can’t hit like 2 buttons to go somewhere.
what about the button at upper left? It’s more than a settings button, there are other functions that neither you nor Samsung bother to explain ANYWHERE. What are the four color buttons for?
We have the same TV. My problem is after awhile we accidentally sat on the TV remote 😅 and now every move we want to make, it will start bluetooth pairing. We tried to stop it but it doesn't work. Do you have any idea how to fix it?
We used to have dish and direct, but we got rid of both of them and now we just have AT&T fiber optic Internet and use streaming services so the remote that came with. It is the only one that we use.
i went to look at tv's for my mom yesterday, and they warned me about this remote but didn't have any out. there is no way she is going to be able to work something like this. yikes. i wonder why they changed the design so much for a remote!!! now i either have to buy an older tv, a tv with lesser quality perks, or a universal remote which i don't know if she'll be able to understand either. are all tvs like this now?? or just samsung?
Yes, all of the TVs now have the simplified remotes where you do everything on the screen by navigating with a circle in the center takes a while to figure it out but once you know how to do it it’s easier
@@TomLeeman wow. i miss the sound quality of older tv's too. lol. now you are almost forced to buy the soundbar so you can actually hear the conversations clearly. my mom couldn't work that either that though. thank you for posting this video though. i was so confused when he was explaining it, because i hadn't seen this yet.
When I first received the TV and remote, I plugged the remote into my USB-C with the charging block and left it charge overnight. Then I just kept it under a lamp and made sure that the solar panel was facing up and it’s worked great since then you may have a faulty unit and have to get a new one. Good luck thank you for watching. Happy holidays.
I am awfully good with technology, even the newest stuff, so I figured out how to use this tiny unfamiliar remote EXCEPT FOR THE VOLUME. I actually reprogrammed my cable box remote to operate this tv entirely because I couldn't figure out the volume controls. Mute was easy but turning volume up or down seemed IMPOSSIBLE with the included remote. Odds are I would never have figured it out, so thank you A MILLION TIMES over for showing how the volume works!! ❤❤❤🎉
They have Samsung TV and there’s a guide there but if you have dish or DIRECTV, you’ll have to have a different remote and a box. If you hook up a antenna to it then you’ll have another app which would be your local TV stations.
Tom, thank you for responding to me. I already bought it at Amazon. Made by Samsung a Universal Remote Control, with the "LAST CHANNEL KEY" the I was looking for. (Samsung Universal Control with Backlit Buttons for Smart TV it cost $14.99) Thanks again for your reply.

How do you turn off the voice on the channel guide , remote that tell you every channel program yand time that show plays. I cant figure it out on the remote ... it's very annoying.
Yeah, that is a detriment to this system unfortunately but if you have Comcast or spectrum or some other system that you put an input on, you could use the remote and go through the channels
I found out you go to home, press left to menu, connected units, then configurate universal remote, and you add the manufacturer of soundbar or home stereo, it will use ir blaster on television to control sound system that are connected without hdmi. Because this remote has no ir blaster.
@@TomLeeman there is a way. I added channels to my favorites years ago but don’t remember how I did it. They are still set as favorites. When I turn the tv on it goes straight to a favorite channel
Funny the one thing you did not show..Is the one thing i wanted to know..How to change the volume with my remote..No matter what i press on the remote the volume never changes..Never had this problem with any other remote..STRANGE.
If you have a cable provider like Comcast - or spectrum, they usually provide you with an input for the HDMI and a remote that works with that device if you’re going to be using that it’ll be easier for you. Good luck thanks for watching. Happy holidays.
I’m not sure what you’re asking but you do want to point the front end of the remote towards the TV. That’s the side that has the on and off but good luck. Thanks for watching.
Why Can't This Remote Power On My AVRX6700H And Samsung S95B SIMULTANEOUSLY???? But It Will SIMULTANEOUSLY POWER Them Both Off ( Samsung S95B Tv And Denon AVRX6700H) Strange!!!! I Just About Tried Everything 1 Can Imagine Too! But What Gives????

Almost all of the smart TVs are moving to more simplified remotes but they’re not very intuitive because most people are used to more functionality. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
There are two bars in the middle of the remote the one on the left. You have to push it up not down and it will increase volume. If you pull it back, it decreases vibe you’ll see a visual interpretation and number on the screen when you do this if you push down on it, it will mute.
When you first get it, you want to plug it in and charge it with the USB-C you’ll need a charging block, to turn on your TV in the interim go to the right hand side there are some manual controls on the bottom. Good luck thanks for watching.
Honestly, these “smart” remotes are like Apple devices: they work for simple tasks that the company wants you to do, but look out of you want to do more! I call them Idiot Remotes. Please bring back buttons and functions! We can handle it, I promise!
Damn, this is one of the worst remotes ever. Low cost, and nothing is intuitive. First of all, a smart TV is a TV and it's primary function is cable tv, not crap streaming services. Cable TV is far superior to any streaming service. The lack of TV buttons and quick menus is horrible. You have to use the idiotic minimalist confusing buttons on the remove to navigate intricate menus. Thank you for the video presenting this horrible product.

I just believe that they’re trying to move everybody away from the old style channels to apps or streaming apps. If you have Comcast spectrum or AT&T, they give you a separate box and an additional where you can do that. Good luck happy holiday. Thanks for watching.
@@TomLeeman thanks, you too
Use the older push-button remote from your older Samsung TV, and you'll likely be happier with the performance from your new TV.
That’s a great question. I’m gonna have to make some videos on it for you.
We have the same TV. My problem is after awhile we accidentally sat on the TV remote 😅 and now every move we want to make, it will start bluetooth pairing. We tried to stop it but it doesn't work. Do you have any idea how to fix it?
You can download an app on your phone and just let the TV remote discharge
How to replace the TV box remote control with that of my Samsung TV if I don't know the brand of my TV box?
We used to have dish and direct, but we got rid of both of them and now we just have AT&T fiber optic Internet and use streaming services so the remote that came with. It is the only one that we use.
Yeah, it’s a little difficult to use but once you figure it out it’ll be easy. Good luck thanks for watching. Happy holidays.
Hi sir, how's the performance of samsung qled q60c 43" TV??
This TV is awesome great picture it takes a little bit getting used to but I like it
@@TomLeeman Thank you😊

It takes about 15 minutes for them all to light up. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
@@TomLeeman what? 15 minutes for the tv remote buttons to light up?
@@kohlgossler7083 I didn't know that the buttons lit up at all !
where do i get this rechargeable version,
It usually comes with the TV if you buy one of these queue LED 4K TVs
How do you pull up the channel guide?
You have to go to Samsung TV it’s an app on the homepage
i went to look at tv's for my mom yesterday, and they warned me about this remote but didn't have any out. there is no way she is going to be able to work something like this. yikes. i wonder why they changed the design so much for a remote!!! now i either have to buy an older tv, a tv with lesser quality perks, or a universal remote which i don't know if she'll be able to understand either. are all tvs like this now?? or just samsung?
Yes, all of the TVs now have the simplified remotes where you do everything on the screen by navigating with a circle in the center takes a while to figure it out but once you know how to do it it’s easier
@@TomLeeman wow. i miss the sound quality of older tv's too. lol. now you are almost forced to buy the soundbar so you can actually hear the conversations clearly. my mom couldn't work that either that though. thank you for posting this video though. i was so confused when he was explaining it, because i hadn't seen this yet.
Yep, I’m so glad our Verizon fios remote can work the tv cuz my hubs would never figure this thing out
When I first received the TV and remote, I plugged the remote into my USB-C with the charging block and left it charge overnight.
Glad I could help. Enjoy your new TV and thank you for watching.
The old samsung remot control works from a smart Samsung?
That question I don’t know I would have to research it
How to get a guide for the live tv?
They have Samsung TV and there’s a guide there but if you have dish or DIRECTV, you’ll have to have a different remote and a box. If you hook up a antenna to it then you’ll have another app which would be your local TV stations.
I'm looking for a remote that has the "LAST CHANNEL KEY", I have a Samsung Smart TV QLED 55"
I assume that this remote doesn't have LAST CHANNEL KEY, can you tell me about one that has it?
Not sure where you’ll find one that you might be able to download an app
Tom, thank you for responding to me. I already bought it at Amazon. Made by Samsung a Universal Remote Control, with the "LAST CHANNEL KEY" the I was looking for.
(Samsung Universal Control with Backlit Buttons for Smart TV it cost $14.99)
Thanks again for your reply.
@@mauroamato9677 - thank you for this information. You posted this comment 10 mos ago; is the Samsung Universal remote you purchased still working? The Last Channel button is *THE* one thing I need in my life! Thanks!
My Samsung TV was full screen when I was watching. I didn't know what I have touched then the screen changed. It had black on top and at the bottom of screen. What would like to know how can I get it back to full screen.
No, in the setting by navigating to the left and then you can go to the screen settings and put it back to normal
How do you turn off the voice on the channel guide , remote that tell you every channel program yand time that show plays. I cant figure it out on the remote ... it's very annoying.
I do believe I have a video on that
Yeah, that is a detriment to this system unfortunately but if you have Comcast or spectrum or some other system that you put an input on, you could use the remote and go through the channels
Why design a remote that needs a CZcams to explain how it works. Utter stupidity from Samsung. I cannot work out how to turn the sound up.
I’ll make a video on it for you check back later on my channel and I’ll try to have it up in the next day or two
there are things like manuals, it is stupidity people don't read it
@@TomLeeman hey
@@TomLeeman 👋
I found out you go to home, press left to menu, connected units, then configurate universal remote, and you add the manufacturer of soundbar or home stereo, it will use ir blaster on television to control sound system that are connected without hdmi. Because this remote has no ir blaster.
whsrs the app for regular network tv
Peacock in Paramont
Or CZcams TV

So if I want to go to channel 55 - i need to click this + button fife times ? We number buttons it was so much easier and faster... c'mon!
If you have a cable provider like Comcast - or spectrum, they usually provide you with an input for the HDMI and a remote that works with that device if you’re going to be using that it’ll be easier for you. Good luck thanks for watching. Happy holidays.
@@TomLeeman Thanks! Happy Holidays for you too! :)
So hard to move from low channel to high channel

how do i pair my remote?
It should be ready to go out of the bag. He just turned it on make sure make sure it’s charged.
my mic doesnt work on it neither does hulu or netflix button😅
This happens when your first set it up you may have to unplug everything and re-plug it in and then it should work

Almost all of the smart TVs are moving to more simplified remotes but they’re not very intuitive because most people are used to more functionality. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
I think I'm pushing the right button but the volume isn't responding.
There are two bars in the middle of the remote the one on the left. You have to push it up not down and it will increase volume. If you pull it back, it decreases vibe you’ll see a visual interpretation and number on the screen when you do this if you push down on it, it will mute.
