      No one use tools for any painter's caulk/silicon because it will be covered by paint later.

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  Před 3 lety +1

      Corners usually got more drywall mud + corner tape when it finished. So it's never 90 degree. But corner of porcelain sink 90 degree. As a result, sink cannot touch both walls, in my situation left and back sides. After cut off/trimming, the sink corner moves deeper into wall and both sides contact wall without gap.

      I was thinking the same? Why was it necessary to add an additional piece of wood, did he not trust the unit to support the back of the basin?
      I thought he added the wood because the wall studs did not align with the ikea brackets, but ikea specifically state that the rear piece of wood can be used to add additional support screws.
      The biggest fault is cutting the ikea unit, that will let humidity in over time as the material is not high quality, the correct way to add a piece of wood is to move the ikea brackets away from the wall one knotch, by using the fixing screws in the alternative holes provided in the bracket, instead he just put screws in all 4 holes…. Lots of different types of screws used there as well, I think even drywall screws?
      The idea of the corner screw through the middle of the bracket was interesting though, but unnecessary.
      Wouldn’t all of this modification have been unnecessary and resolved by just mounting the unit 2cm higher and according to the instructions.
