I love how in the beginning, we get to witness how even the slumbering sword was able to cast out Link's darkness from the Wolf Form. It isn't called "The Blade of Evil's Bane" just for some fancy name.
The way in which the Master Sword just casts out the curse Zant put on Link, and seals it inside a physical manifestation… and then, Midna suddenly can't help but stare in awe as Link is suddenly pulling the Master Sword, and then the organ kicks in as the Master Sword is raised and blows away all the fog… It sends chills down my spine EVERY. TIME.
Eh let people have their (wrong) opinion. Them not liking it doesn't make it any less my favorite game of all time. It's got a beautiful story with a fantastic companion. There isn't a dungeon in this game that I disliked. It's got its flaws, but those don't detract from the overall package of gameplay, story, and awesome music.
@DHans that one is good but nah. The music in this one and the visuals are just too epic. Also always hits harder in a traditional Canon zelda. Aoc would need those organs to compete.

I always thought that this scene's music in this game was so epic sounding. What always mystified me was how a sword could know that a hero was in need of being freed from an evil curse. Secondly, I always wondered why Midna said the the sword (an inanimate object) accepted Link as its master. Now, thanks to finally completing Skyward Sword, the mystery has been solved! The legendary blade of evil's bane houses an intelligent spirit named Fi. Knowing all this now only enriches this game's one particular cutscene that much more! Thank you Nintendo!!
Rodimus75 I think what she meant is that Link was allowed to take the sword. See how the energy radiating from the sword is so powerful that Midna can't even come near it without being blown away. Link is the only person whom the sword would allow to come near it. That's what Midna meant, or at least my interpretation of it.
The sword didn't know Link needed to be freed from a curse it just expunged the curse Zant placed on him because nothing with evil can touch the Blade of Evil's Bane. And secondly, the Master Sword was always hinted at having a will of it's own way before Skyward Sword. It literally sealed Link, The Hero of Time in time for 7 years.

The sword activates as soon as evil gets nears it and physically blasts is away. You can see that the sword’s energy blasted both the curse and Midna away with its power. Even though Midna is not evil per se, she technically is a dark entity that falls under the umbrella of stuff the master sword fights against.

God this was my first Zelda game and I played it when I was like 11. The feeling I have rewatching this years later simply because it popped into my recommended is indescribable. Nostalgia doesn't cut it.
this is my absolute favorite version of this music. The big church organ sound always made me feel like the game was trying to imply that while its the "bane of evil" what it really is an artifact made by deities that you can only slightly comprehend and the master sword in of itself can be just as awe inspiring and terrifying as a cursed object like the fused shadows (its just fortunate they have like a "good guy" security lock on it)
