- Knowing why your body is reacting to certain foods, with symptoms such as acid reflux and bloating, is key to your journey to digestive health. This week Rebecca speaks to Dr Norm Robillard Ph.D. Dr Robillard is the founder of The Digestive Health Institute, a gut expert, microbiologist, author of the Fast Tract Diet book series and the Fast Tract Diet app. The Fast Tract Diet, which has been used successfully by many people with SIBO to calm their digestive symptoms. Dr Robillard had his own gastric issues with acid reflux and this is what led him to start to explore the issues with carbohydrates and fermentation. Rebecca and Dr Robillard delve into the Fast Tract Diet, and talk at what gut health benefits can be achieved by lowering the fermentation of the foods that you are consuming. The video has interesting points. It applies to me a lot. I like FP idea.
Tell us what to eat or at least what not to eat. Please
I really enjoy your podcasts :) You ask great questions and make it a bit easier for someone to understand something so complex as SIBO. I've learned so much from you and your guests. Thank you for your work in this field!
Thank you so much for this! When it comes to SIBO I’ve tried everything without success. This gives me hope. ❤
Good wisdom 😎😎😎Thk u
I can´t tolerate any amounts of garlic and some other foods and have intolerances and allergies so I think it has something to do with leaky gut or something

Brown Rice ?
How do I do this diet living in a van with only a one burner camp stove, no water, or refrigeration. I need to know simple low cost foods I can easily obtain and use without refrigeration. I don't need a list of foods I can't eat but a list of foods that are affordable, easy to prepare and I can eat..
How do you expect them to address that? Lol
@@brookealiasemeraldfox8192 by not expecting someone who has been sick for a long period of time to have a lot of money to spend on high price foods.
Give us a bit more Norm.
Like give an example of a day’s eating
This is the apparent pattern. I guess he wants you to buy the book or app.
Will a low carb diet really lessen my LPR
The FTD is a low fermentable diet. It can have pretty amazing results for people. Some of my SIBO coaching clients see really great results when they switch to this diet protocol.
@@TheHealthyGuts Where can I find recepies
@@michaelknight2721 there’s a FTD Facebook group, books and app! digestivehealthinstitute.org
100% yes.
They say diet can not clear Sibo.
herbal antibiotics and probiotics like Megaspore are added in to the diet to kill/clear/repopulate, while the diet reduces excess fermentation and inflammation. You are right, Diet alone cannot cure bacterial overgrowth and lack of probitiocs. I myself have current Citrobacter freundi and no growth of lactobacillus, Kill one and reseed the other , while doing diet and leaky gut healing things like bone broth and glutamine.
@@FrostyBud777 I'm going to start antibiotics soon. Sibo is rough I have had it so many years I pray I can get rid of it one day and keep rid of it.
@@jamieb5679 DON'T BE LIKE ME AND TRY FOR A YEAR ONLY TO TAKE A GREAT PLAINS LAB COMPREHENSIVE STOOL TEST WHICH SHOWS CITROBACTER FREUNDI AND FARMERI OVERGROTH THAT CAN ONLY BE KILLED BY GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT AND UVA URSI AND COLLOIDAL SILVER, WITH SALMONELLA AS WELL!!!!
It is NOT affected by oregano, caprilic acid, walnut hall or berberine. Cipro almost killed me and bactrim did nothing for it.
I had no growth Lactobacillus. I even put a lacto probiotic up my butt to GET IT INTO MY BODY.
DOing the herbals, taking adrenal cortex today and feel so much better (seeking health, adrenals are so tired from the sibo / gut dysbiosis)
taking grapefruit seed extract, uva ursi, colloidal silver, 1 cap milk thistle , for liver support, liposomal glutathione liquid seeking health, and even doing probiotics in water in enemas. SO sick of this disbiosis, ANTIBIOTICS for 2 months (keflex brand) CAUSED ALLL THIS IN 2012 after a broken ankle surgery infection.
Get probiotics into you. Get a comprehensive stool test to find the pathogenic bacteria and what strains they are , and what they are suceptible too. I been dealthign with this BAD like DYING BAD, since march. Tried all this stuff. suffered so long , only to find out this gut test results and NOW I KNOW WHAT KILLS THE BACTERIA AND WHICH IS OVERGROWNAND feel so much hope.
@@jamieb5679 I had trouble with sibo for 8 plus years. I have recently discovered prokinetics can be very helpful in jump starting the MMC (Migrating Motor Complex). The research I have done shows re-establishing the MMC is critical for eliminating sibo. I am using "Motility Pro" and am seeing very good results after 2 weeks. Good luck!!
Take oregano oil
what the hell IS the diet??? Foods - what FOODS?
Dr Robillard has assigned a Fermentation Potential (FP) to foods so you eat to a total FP value per day. Eg. If your daily FP value is 19, then you choose fits that don’t take you over a total of 19 points in the day. He has a really handy app which makes calculation super easy. Plus he’s written several books which explain the diet and give food lists with FP points.
@@TheHealthyGutsthanks for supporting I have a question what about quantity of fat ? It affects or not? Thanks
@@oskarmendoza3484 it affects what in particular?
He's so wrong
About what?
