So I would be correct in saying that Mr Helwani is of Israeli descent. So I would be correct to say that Mr Adesanya's first name is Israel. So I would be correct to say that both of them would be very proud of these facts.
Fun Fact: Israel supported the pre-1994 Apartheid government of South Africa on the military front and amongst others it was used to maintain the oppression of any person who was not white in South Africa. Needless to explain why the current SA government supports Palestine.
Mr Dricus du Plessis never lived Apartheid. He is a child of the new South Africa - born in 1994. These post 94 kids in SA do not see race or colour as that is how us older generation here in SA educate them. The SA government currently classify the population in four groups as follows: Black, Coloured, Indian/Asian and White. So to conclude according to the SA Government we are all Africans having South African Nationality and I guess that makes Mr du Plessis a true African - in anyway that is how his own government views him.

It’s weird. DDPs style looks “off” and he doesn’t seem like much compared to other top contenders, but he simply knows how to win. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does.
Lol. He got set up against favorable styles. Brunson is old and out of it. Till is not a good fighter. Rob is very good but has a bad chin and gets caught in every fight. There was Costa, Vettori, Cannonier and even Strickland. The UFC knew any of those dudes would starch Dricus and end hopes of a big fight against Izzy. At least if Rob had won, they’d be able to still sell out Sydney for September. The matchmaking tells the story.

dricus is a tank with a unorthodox style and power, that's a difficult opponent for anybody to deal with. he made whittaker look like he didn't belong in there with him, much bigger and stronger. he will give izzy lot of problems on the ground, dricus can definitely defeat izzy by submission if he sticks to the ground game similar to jan blachowicz

Fights aren’t scored on how pretty or precious your technique looks. Dricus has proven that he knows how to hurt and pressure people at a relatively high level. If someone can beat Whittaker like that, all bets are off on the Adesanya matchup. He can for sure win that fight

DDP's awkwardness reminds me a little of Jiri. Looking awkward isn't always a bad thing, especially when you're reflexes are in your prime. Izzy is incredible on his feet, but DDP is awkward, has a good chin, and is powerful, if DDP can get his hands on Izzy it will be over quick. I really like DDP's chances!!

Styles makes fights doesn’t just mean if they are orthodox or southpaw. It’s like for you were a pressure wrestler with good ground and pound but weaker at submission defense. Ie you beating the shit out of Silva for four rounds who has got good defense and striking at a distance but can submit pretty much anyone on the planet got you. So your pressure style shut down his distance fighting style but was able to submit you because he was also a bjj expert and that wasn’t part of your style. Also, the saying is because if you know the sport you know how the fight may look because of the two styles each fighters bring basically.

Chael is making a great point (many points, but the main point is a great point, and possibly the others as well). DDP made short work of Whittaker. It wasn't close. And Whittaker was better than Adesanya in their last fight according to some. However, MMA fans have a long history of seeing a champion lose, take the rematch, and still thinking the former champion will win because they know better than reality as evidenced by prior history. That is what we're working with here. MMA fans knew Whittaker would clobber DDP. Since Whittaker is a 2-1 underdog against Izzy, DDP opens as a 3-1 underdog against Izzy. Cleary we know better than recent history (sarc).

“Styles make fights” means that the specific matchup matters. Guy A beats guy B but can’t beat guy C who can easily beat guy B. Because of styles, not necessarily who’s “better”.

The 5-1 on the fury/ngannou fight is shocking. I understand ngannou has the ultimate punchers chance but we have seen a lot more polished and (probably) more powerful punchers like Wilder take their best crack at Fury and they still got their clocks cleaned. Ngannou can box a little but hes literally up against a dominant P4P champion in a different sport. And if this somehow goes to a decision, Francis wouldn't have a chance even if he clearly won every round cuz this is boxing we are talking about.

Most fighters are getting in the UFC around then and had already been training for at least 10 years. He trained for 3 years and got in the UFC and 3 years later he was fighting his first Championship fight. He lost because he lacked grappling, and 3 years later he absolutely dominated that same guy and it was bad.
If anyone on planet earth could go into a fight like this and pull an unexpected win, it absolutely would be him.
