suggestion - Play and beat 15-20 games from your backlog. After you're done, all the games you were gonna previously get at full price, will be at least half a price. follow this and you'll get more games for less money and not less gamess for more money.

Loads of unemployed in uk who got cost of living welfare payment last holiday blew it on a ps5 and haven't been able to afford to buy a single game for it. And yes those people exist. It's sad really.
turkey games was cheaper before then they spike the prices to match other stores now turkey is the most expensive store there is no explanation why 60$ game in all stores to be 85$ in one region
One of the reasons that Turkey increased, its because of Russia, where gamers from Russia were buying lots of games much cheaper because you cant buy from Russian account anymore, but you can from a Turkey one.
In Mexico the price of games (for this whole gen so far) have been roughly half of a monthly minimum wage. That is not affordable for most.

I've stopped buying day one long ago for this reason. I am perfectly happy waiting for a year until the price has dropped at retail which is also why I made sure to buy a disc console.
Me too brother. I see no need to get brand new games when I have a backlog and spare time isn't as easy to get as it was, so I'm very happy to wait until big discounts come up.

The PS4 came out in late 2013. I bought my PS4 in 2017. I seriously started collecting PS4 games in 2022. Just wait about 10 years after a console release for real pricing to normalize, or 5 years since PS5 games are now finally going down somewhat...still pricey tho. I voted with my wallet, you can as well.

The need to find a way to start cutting back on costs for making games because this is insane.
It’s the consumers that dictate the price of any product.
For example, It makes no business sense in charging gamers say, £200 if only 10% of the people who ordinarily would buy the game are prepared to spend that money. They’d loose money, lots and lots of money.
It’s simple, if you feel something is overpriced, don’t buy it.
And it’s exactly the same when it comes to bad games, even if you’ve bought and loved every single game other than the last one in a franchise that’s been going for 20+ years, if you thought the last game was unacceptable, don’t blindly buy the next one unless you’re assured this new game is good.
I honestly don’t understand how so many don’t understand this.
Sony price to make money, not the economy of the market, as do Apple, MS , Samsung , LG.
I already cancelled my subscription when they last raised prices.

I didn't see this video, but it's at around the same time I noticed PS5 games like God of War Ragnarok cost 80 Euro now here in Bulgaria. Others include Spider-Man 2, Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Last of Us Part I and Returnal.
These are all games that should cost 50 euro or less at this point in their lifecycle.
Turkey's currency has been in a downward spiral for a long time now, so it's even worse for them, before even accounting for the fact they've gone to 85 instead of 80.
edit: By comparison, the Steam versions of TLOU 1, Returnal, Ratchet & Clank, and the not yet released God of War Ragnarok are still 60 euro. That's 20 euro less to play it on PC.
Yeah I feel like done gaming too, will be huilding a monster offline rig, modern gaming deserve the modern audience so it's time for us OGs to go our own way.
Certain gamers cried over not having a physical copy of Alan wake 2 but let's see how many go out and buy the physical release in October for £69. 99 or as much as $100 in some regions.
Looks like the PS5 will be my last console. Once games hit 80 bucks it will be it for me. Have plenty of games in my backlog to play
The same for me, I have 10 months left on my top tier playstation+ I won't renew. I have a huge back catalogue of games to play and replay. I don't play online, so I'm happy to spend the subscription money I save in the sales. I never buy games on release any more, wait 12-18 months and pick them up at a very reasonable price

I just don't buy games until they come down in price. Sony has lost a lot of money from me by raising the price.
Often I stop caring about that game after waiting so long and don't bother getting it after all.
Oh and game on PC a lot. Haven't even bought a PlayStation game in a long time.
@Arseverse it's not just that, the ps4 is still lightly supported, so a lot of it is how much do you wanna spend on something you may not play for more time than a movie (2-3 hours). For price conscious the switch, 2ds/3ds, ps3/ps4/xbox series s are still somewhat viable, with xbox series x being for those who go for physical backwards compatibility.
A lotta games do go on sale before black friday, with Christmas in july not being too bad. Ps plus premium wanes if you already bought the games they add.
Sony always seems to treat their European fanbase poorly, but apparently Turkey most of all! Sheesh, I still refuse to pay any more than $60 for a new game on principle, but I couldn’t imagine paying roughly $100 for a single standard edition game.

Do not buy full priced games, My rules about videogames:
1) Never preorder again.
2) Buy physical games only unless it's an indie worthy it game.
3) Don't purchase any game that has wokeness in it. The reson for wokeness is to destroy family values, gender identity, relationSHIPS, to feminize men and to masculinize women.
4) Do not but any game on release day. Many times publishers release an update as in censoring or adding microtransactions after the reviews are in. Being an impulse buyer enslaves you.
5) Any older games that get remade, most likely will be altered with wokeness for the modern audience a.k.a. weak minded droness that are easily manipulated emotionally a.k.a children in grown up bodies.
6) Do not trade games in the store, only with friends, coworkers etc.
7) Do not buy live service games (Helldivers 2 was an exception for me), I'm 99% a single player person.
Do not blame any developer/publisher/politician-governement), just go in front of the mirror for the source of the poison or the remedy. Anyone that takes advantage of your money is smart, and that makes you stupid. Everything is energy, they provide the games for money in exchange. If you complain that you had a bad experience, then go in front of the mirror about your poor, unintelligent choice
8)Enjoy the experience of playing videogames but dont be attached to this activity. Life is beautiful, there are so many beautiful things besides standing in front of the screen.
9) When you purchase new games at Eb games or anywhere else, the case must be wrapped in the plastic. Even if the worker tells you that has no scratches, is like new or whatever other bs reason tells you, you must demand it yo be wrapped. Do not argue/waste time. Unless it's a used game.
For as long as money is in your pocket, you have the power. If the situation requires it, leave the store, you do not have to buy the game, even if it is the last copy. Be a man of principles, do not let corporations and their schemes treating you like an idiot.
10) Never buy scalped products. Scalpers are scums.

Man I feel bad that I just bought 3 PS5 games with a buy 2 get one free so got Stellar Blade, Spider-Man 2 and Tekken at for 140.00. Turkey is having to pay that just for 1.5 games

I'm not sure if you're aware but Turkey was where ALOT of people were buying games from. They were vastly cheaper there than the rest of the world. People took advantage of it and they hicked the prices up but they were still cheaper than EU, US, UK etc.
You could a whole years of PS Plus extra for £20... People stacked on that. New releases were about £25-£30. This is just adjusting it to a similar price as the rest of the world as much as that sucks for the people of Turkey

Microsoft have all but completely destroyed Xbox, PS5 games are getting less affordable, game development now takes a lifetime, what’s it gonna take to put things right? This is why I’ve been wanting Sega to start making new consoles again! With the right knowhow, a new Sega console that brings back what made gaming fun in the first place could be a hit!

I will never subscribe to their pointless service, they only ever put old games into the service, you have to pay extra for cloud saves, no day and date games and they dont even put their best games in like GT7 lol

Funny. There are no day and date games on the lower tier services on Xbox either... also no local account on Xbox makes it a DRM hell for physical games. You can't play disc without internet on Xbox. They are worse than Sony.

Glad i never bought a PS5 at all... Really was excited this "Next Gen" and as someone who had Ps2 and Ps3 and PS4 on day 1 release , i knew it was better to hold off this time round as the lack of games on PS4 launch taught me a lesson that all a new generation means is the same games "remastered" or "re-released" on the new console , I am so glad i built a PC instead. No way would i be paying those prices for games ontop of the Subscriptions. . F Sony , they really are kicking players in the nuts this year (Helldivers amongst other things)

That's literally their only option for most of them. Scrape by enough for a rig that can play one-year-old games on medium and start catching-up. Anyone who can afford a better computer than that, can most certainly afford buying games.

There is no need to even think about owning an Xbox console if you have a PC. The gamepass for PC is a way better deal than it is on their console anyway.

The volume of games is not there in this generation so they want to make more money from the ones that are available.
I know that many thousands of people from the UK exploited the Turkish psn pricing and stacked many years of it (approx £40 a year), this was on top of games being almost half the price there comparative to UK prices. Playstation got wise to this and stopped people making this exploit but also increased game price massively.

It's inevitable. Lets talk about relativity: w/ inflation factored in, todays games work out to the SAME price as they were in the PS1 gen. Think of that - small teams with low polygon visual, simple games, are the same (subtracting inflation) as these multi-million $ games, with huge dev teams, realistic visuals, developed over years. What's the solution?? Cheaper games with smaller budgets, smaller game times, smaller teams. This was inevitable.

I'm good with switch online basic and PC Handheld for a budget (PC only starts expensive and legion go $600 sale is nice). Glad PS Stars at least rebooted though unacceptable to be over a month.
