I love and admire Gash Alemayehu. I am sure there are also many more people who do. I feel that the veteran, tireless and multi- talented musician must rightly be recognized for his decades of glorious service to traditional Amharic music. As he has composed, sung, played many, many musical instruments and taught generation of students, I am of the opinion that he should therefore be celebrated with the conferment of an honorary doctorate in music. The acknowledgement should come now while he is still alive. It should not be a posthumous thing.
