- Carl Taylor from Taylor Farms in Idaho Falls, Idaho, presenting Spudniks 16 row potato harvesting system. With eight 6 row windrowers and four 4 row harvesters they are able to harvest between 400 - 450 acres a day. The biggest advantage was to reduce tractors and the need of multiple operators from their harvesting operation. In addition, they were able to utilize their truck fleet and reduce bruising due to the higher capacity of the machines and fewer machines in the operation.

Impressive to see a large potato harvest.

Then they say if mexican illegals are not in USA the potato cost will be high rocketed . That was amazing machine. I don't think any conventional potato can compete with this modern educated farmer.
YES
instablaster.
To those people that disagree with this man's methods, nothing is stopping you from buying a tiller, working the soil, planting some taters and other veggies in your own garden. He is successful and so am I. I produce the other thing that goes on your plate. That T bone Steak.
nothing is stopping you...except maybe not having the land for a garden...
Not all potatoe farmers have the money to buy a 2 million or a 3 million dollar harvester machine and yes they do cost even more
Thank you for helping put food on my table.
There are two types of people business minded and employee minded. Obviously there are a bunch of employees here that think it others responsibility to provide them a job. They will never understand that they are responsible for their own well being not those around them. Long ago this guys ancestors eeked out a meager living and struggled through the years trying to improve their situation day to day year after year to get to where they are today. Then you have these employee minded individuals that demand that this man give up a part of the years of struggles and the risk that they incur, so the ones who risk nothing can automatically have a job because they say so. These people will never understand what you said about starting their own business and there are millions of business out there to start. To start a business one has to find a need and fill it, but they are to blind to look around to see what needs to be done because they need someone to tell them what to do.
Moneyandtime Freedom well said but you failed to mention that most employees aren’t good enough to work for hard working private enterprise so they get a job for the government. There’s two types of people lifters and leaners.
My two year old loves this video. Totally not what you made it for. But he loves the tractors.
wow, that's great. thanks for your message. greetings
He's 7 years now.😅👏❤️
Lol we expect to do 100 acres over the whole harvest season in scotland with a 1 row harvester and we think that's great!
That's is the way here in idaho .....lots of new equipment

Im here in the Netherlands and we harvest around 200ha with 2 6 row harvesters😰😂 but thats from early to late potatoes
Amazing how a small change can make such a large impact. What a beautiful setup!
Sr. Taylor y familia, ejemplo de éxito y perseverancia, un saludo.
I was asked if I could drive truck this next harvest. Ten years shoveling dirt and connecting air pipes. I never thought I'd see the day when I would be hauling potatoes.
I watched this Video many times ago. Its an big inspiration. An amazing production of really nice footage in cooperation of amazing Voice and sound track.
Go on !
I like your big boys toys too. I once was a tractor driver for the Australian Wheat harvest and cultivations. I totally loved it
God bless America! The land of the free and the most efficient! 🇺🇲
Fantastic. We've come along way since I picked potatoes by hand out of a field in the 60's. Love modern innovation. I also love potatoes and love everything about them. I raised potatoes for 30 years near Blackfoot!
That is truly a magnificent work of art.
it's cool and interesting to see how technology evolved to feed more people faster. most people don't have a clue where the fries come from.( they would say from the freezer)
I really enjoy watching this video. Very interesting.
tobacco72 Thanks. With this equipment its kind a easy a create awesomeness :-)
That's a pretty cool process. thanks for the video!!
Very cool...God Bless our Farmers..Right equipment Right outcome..

Great video, Folks! VERY well done!
Thank you, Mr. Taylor, and thank you, Spudnik, as well, for bringing us all those wonderful potatoes! Keep up the good work!
thanks for the nice comment
*It makes me value the baked potato I enjoy every evening for dinner! Thank you, potato farmers, for your hard work!*
Impressionnant! Une splendide illustration du terme "productivité" et on comprend mieux son évolution depuis la première charrue. :-) . Il y'a de la poésie dans ce ballet des machines. C'est très relaxant. Merci pour cette vidéo.
merci
The is one hell of an operation Carl way to go brother, Big time.,
its a perfect video they've made.
When my father was young they worked the corn with horses. Now they have been to the moon and harvest 100's of tons in air conditioning.
great video we grow potatoes and always look forward to a safe fun harvest thumbs up
Wow the teamwork is awesome! So cool.
very informative video. Thanks very much for the german subtitle.
Thanks godness for technology, very cool machines.
This is amazing. Thank You John Deere.
I used to drive a truck from the field to the shed in McArthur California.. We were harvesting potatoes for "French and Fry" who grew potatoes for "Granny Goose". Early 1970's. Haven't seen Granny Goose Potato Chips in a long time. Amazing what modern ag machinery can do. Our digger at that time had seats on both sides where moms and teenagers sat and separated the dirt clods. At the end of the season or the harvest French and Fry let the locals come in and pick up all the potatoes left on the field that were too small or just missed in burlap bags to take home. I thought that was kind of them and remember.
Thank you farmers..Pick yp a load of potatoes in Utah once, then took load to Phoenix Az to potato chip factory, then got a tour, pretty cool stuff
Thanks for all your hard work. I love potatoes.
:-)
Love Spudnik equipment it's so cool
Super cool, highest respect for the farmers! As an ex logger,One see's the same thing in farming and every other industry though too. It is how to remove people and jobs from the process, and automate. It's a great debate and I dont have a real opinion but it does affect people
Wow..equip much newer technology compared to 50 yrs ago...i remember old equipment on my uncle's potato farm.
Here in europe the largest we got are 4 row harvesters. 16 rows at once is absolutely insane.
We're in the stone age by comparison.
@@Monaleenian well the farms are also a lot smaller by comparison.
Thanks for watching this video. We feel honored by all of your views.

Great Video, thanks for sharing
To the people that do this thank you, 👍
I really love the potato, a fresh new crop potato is a delicious thing. It always hurts me when potatofarmers get little respect and little pay.
Dammit, I'm in the Agricultural side of CZcams again. What's next - clay molding?

Shrooms I guess

Nice video, thank you so much.

How much can a similar equipment cost for a smallholder farmer? Ie:- just one unit of the above shown.
Well done. I miss our family farm
That's a whole lot faster than me and my granddad digging spuds with a garden fork. :)
No wonder a 10 pound bad of potatoes only costs $4.00. This is amazing agricultural automation and organization at work. Very well done. And by the way, any normal guy loves the big toys!
So Beautiful Smart Farming I love you
Love you Spudnik Equipment
awesome job ...
*Something about finely machined metal makes me want to hold and feel it*
Great video!! Reminds me growing up WNY in the 60s. The farmer next to us did potatoes, and every year the migrant workers would come in & pick by had after they were dug up. The farmer let us pick thru the field when they were done!! Found some nice bakers & lots of smaller " salt potatoe" size. We ate potatoes for free most of the year.
Thank You! I live in Toronto Canada. Today I ate potatoes and wondered what kind of work it is for people to harvest potatoes. I have looked at a number of different videos that include everything from gardeners to huge farming machines, and, sizes in between. My question as a city dweller is, what kind of food do the people who grow food crops, have the safest, healthiest, most enjoyable time growing?
Seen this in Facebook so I subscribe and turn notifications on
Nice work
We Heartily Thank you Sir

Less people with jobs, and fewer people making more money.

Bloody marvelous!!
I am not sure of the numbers I read somewhere; but "in the west" where the likes of these potatoes are eaten approx. 7% of wages are required to buy food now, whereas in the 50's 25% was needed. ..You can see why.
A happy farmer rasin, potatoes, his whole life, using the big boys toys.Good one.
Good ad, it makes me want to switch to growing potatoes now!

I like the ability to efficiently manage a capable cause where Safety repetitive motion will not occur. These machine Harvesters show an example where other Jobs are are created. Many think Robots take away labor. However they actually increase the workforce.
+Nick Cox and those jobs that where created only last a month so it isn't hurting anyone
