    I love this mic. Bought one last month and have been using it for bits and bobs (mostly just me talking into it because I like the sound so much).

    I like anything with transformers, that’s why i like the Rupert Neve Designs hardwares. I got to check this mic out.

    I have a Delphos, I recommend this company highly, so good at any price range. Austrian audio is also on my checks all boxes list. 67 is a nice flavor, does that Frank S thing.

      I have the Colares, but would really love to add a Delphos to my small collection.

    Great examples Czar. Thanks for doing this. I’ve wanted to here the 67x. We have miniK47s and think the 67x might be a nice addition to our collection.

    Thanks for the excellent review Czar!. Your singers are a joy to hear. I'm actually trying to reduce the number of tube mics I use these days. They sound good for many things, but they're involved to set up and use, touchy and really expensive to repair. When I had to spend $3500 on a VF14M tube for my U47, I started selling some of the vintage mics and replacing them with some great modern alternatives. This 67x sounds like it'll get a lot of work around here. I'm going to go buy one right now.

    Through the PreSonus Quantum pre-amp the vocal, and guitar sounds much more in your face, and actually I liked it more than the Auteur pre-amp. That is with this particular mic, which is going to be delivered to me today! Can't wait to check this mic out myself! Good work Czar! Thank you for this video. ;)

      What are your thoughts on the mic?

    • @MichalMikulskiMM
      @MichalMikulskiMM Před 2 lety +2

      @@VideoGamerabc I like it more than the Delphos II as it has more top end. For vocals, which I used it on, sounds perfect to be honest. Czar mentioned he doesn’t need much eq and I agree. I haven’t used it on other sources yet, but I will in the future, such as on a bass amp, guitar and viola. What I liked, is that even when there’s clipping as there was much SPL going into the mic, with my interface the Prism Sound Lyra, it doesn’t sound bad and acts like compression, and with un-clipping vst it all sounds perfect. Of course I didn’t do that on purpose, but I like how it behaved under these circumstances. I also like how it naturally compresses things, and not too much as Czar also mentioned. I’m happy with this purchase. I’m considering selling my Delphos II now, as it’s my passion, not work, and I don’t need many mics, although Delphos has 3 polar patterns… and mini K67x is only cardioid. Also I actually prefer it’s small form factor and weight. Easier to put it in different spots. Great value for money! I think it will prove to be a very versatile mic.

      @@MichalMikulskiMM Wow! Thanks for the in-depth response, I didn't expect to hear something back so quickly and so well thought out. I asked because I myself am looking to buy a work horse "do it all" mic for a passion project of mine, and I'm between this and the delphos actually and I found this pretty helpful. On the off chance you're looking to sell your delphos I may be interested. But since you have experience with both, which one do you prefer for a wider range of applications, it seems like you're leaning heavily towards the 67x. And the 67x seems to also be a great value for the money

      @MichalMikulskiMM Před 2 lety +1

      @@VideoGamerabc Ok, so it is hard to choose after all, on strings I prefer the Delphos II as it sounded full on violin whereas the 67x had too much sparkle, so it seems like it’s more of a vocal mic. The “to do it all” is hard to find, if even possible, since microphones aren’t perfect, but still, I love it on the vocal. Seems like I will have to keep them both..

    Thanks for reviewing the Mini K67. Great review. I have the K47 and the K87 and wondered how the K67 would compare, and you brought that out nicely. Price is reasonable and is also an American company (bonus for that).

      thanks a lot.

    • @ramspencer5492
      @ramspencer5492 Před 3 měsíci

      It's a transformer circuit... So it gives you that saturation and a very nice subtle soft clip on the transients... It's going to be a little bit more color than the k-87 and the tad bit warmer.... More personality for vocals and kind of a modern take on a vintage sound... It's going to be quite a bit more balanced than the 47. Those are both great mics but this one has so much character. It still is worth picking up a 67X, if you're in the market for another, very distinctive Mic... Still very balanced. Has a smooth top end. Not completely neutral

    Nice review -- looking at possibly getting a matched pair of these.

  • @mixing-mastering101masteri3

    Wow this mic sounds great! All the vocals that you show to us are always fire! Love the content and examples shown with different preamps and Mics.
    Which mic would you recommend if u had the budget for hiphop rap/singing vocals, Delphos 2 vs. Mini K67x? Which mic do u think handles sibilance the best? Thanks again!

    TLM 103 or this?

    • @TheAudioCzar
      @TheAudioCzar  Před 2 lety +3

      this will have more character and color than a TLM thanks to the transformer. (TLM - transfornerless Microphone) so it depends on if you want that color or not.

    Super bright

    • @MichalMikulskiMM
      @MichalMikulskiMM Před 2 lety +2

      Sounded airy (maybe a bit bright) and warm at the same time to me, but not super bright. Also take into account the pre-amp used in 5:55 which is the Black Line Audio Auteur, and he went through this pre-amp most of the time. In comparison when going through the PreSonus Quantum it sounded less bright and more forward in 6:30.
