The Guard player is a hero. Also, this 'turret in the retreat path' spam seems a bit too low-handed for my tastes.

I love how the IG player retaliated to the gauss turret cheese, by deleting his Leman Russ tanks so that LD's can't capture them. Certified chad move.

Necrons were introduced at the very end of 2nd edition. They only had the lord, warriors, destroyers (that looked like land speeders), and giant scarabs that ate vehicle armor at the time.
3rd edition was where they first got their own codex and became a real army though.
I think he was referring to them in Dawn of War
2:15 Necron generators are 10 per monolith, with 3 monoliths max, but the cost and build time increases with each generator. Once you go past 10 they take so long to build that it's not really worth the trouble.
In short games (20-30 minutes) having more than 10 generators is usually a waste of time and money, but in long games (+35 minutes) especially when you have teammates, it is worth it because you will usually have money to spend and the builders will usually be idle if they are not capturing a point.
That gaus turret placement is more then cheesy tho 🤨

Its just a illusion that does 0 damage, it can however intrupt.

but this shows that sheer numbers and replenishment speed overtake any 10% more health/damage a single unit may have.

i played back though dark crusade recently and the late game AI is insane. it uses so many "cheats" that i literally cannot take the last stronghold. its mad stuff. they mustve changed it at some point because it was never like that before.

as soon as the restored monolith was built it should have bee sent into the IG base, complete waste really.
This game would have been so faster if the Necron player built Tomb spiders...
Or imperial guard player keep his leman russes on distance and not lose to lord destroyers and build basilisks. Both players are meds.
