Well, it's a tribute to Toyota, not Lancia. But I included the years were Lancia were beating them, though it was mostly a close call between the two. The final scene of the Celica GT4 (1:27) is from Catalunya 1995, where they were banned from competition. I tried to be subtil, and slowely faded the scene from colour to grayscale.
My first car was a 1974 Celica, attempting to get one as close to the first rally car they produced so believe me when I say I LOVE THEM! But as far as why Celica's stopped rallying was a 12 month ban in 1995 for using an illegal turbo. a HUGE embarrassment for Toyota even though the blame was left only with-in Toyota Europe. I too wish they had continued.

Anyone have any idea of why they changed the Celica with a Corolla?
really? i havent seen anything for a few years. i do know that they are bringing it back in 2009 though

The Corolla was a much more compact car for one thing.
