    Oren's Biography:
    Oren Jay Sofer is a teacher of mindfulness, meditation, and Nonviolent Communication, able to speak both to secular and Buddhist audiences. With a meditation practice dating back to 1997, Oren has studied under esteemed teachers such as Anagarika Munindra, Godwin Samararatne, Joseph Goldstein, Michele McDonald, and Ajahn Sucitto. He is a graduate of the IMS - Spirit Rock Vipassana Teacher Training and currently serves as a member of the Spirit Rock Teachers Council. Oren is the author of the influential book "Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication," (www.orenjaysofer.com/book/) offering practical guidance for more effective and fulfilling conversations. His expertise also extends to teaching mindfulness to teens and adolescents, as co-author of "The Mindful Schools Curriculum for Adolescents" and "Teaching Mindfulness to Empower Teens." Combining his background in Comparative Religion and his experience as an Anagarika in the Ajahn Chah Thai Forest lineage, Oren's teaching style harmoniously blends classical Buddhist principles with the accessible language of secular mindfulness.
