Should we do my residency and attending IG or blog also??
Yesss I am so much exicted🙂
Yes!
Another Blog would be AWSOME!
Also, great video Mama Doctor Jones! ❤️
Yeah this was fun :)
Yes absolutely! You are one impressive lady and I really enjoyed this little trip down memory lane for you!
Imma be honest, when she opened her Instagram and I saw “Danielle” I remembered that her first name is not “Mama Doctor”
Me too lmao
Same here
Same
Same
I legit only googles her name like a week ago
Wait why have I never considered that you have a first name? I feel like a kid in school who overhears their teacher's first name.
My granddaughter is a transplant recipient. She got her new heart at 14 and we are all donors, although at 75 I don’t have much good stuff left. Thank you for reminding folks to sign a donor card or their driver’s license.
My husband and I both just got accepted to the same medical school for the same start date and I can't wait for this to be us one day
Congratulations! 🎊🎈🍾🎉
Congrats!!
I LOVE THESE LOVE STORIES! Ugh the romantic in me lol so sweeeeettt 🥺
That’s amazing! My husband is in his third year right now.
That’s so cool congratulations 🎊
Look at MDJ making time for trans acceptance and racial justice in her video about old Instagram pics. I appreciate you so much.
It’s not hard and I believe it makes such a difference so I’m really glad to see her be such a positive influence on this platform ❤️ I see so many youtubers that only talked about racial injustice when the BLM movement started gaining more attention and everyone was doing the blackouts on their social media, but now it’s so sad to see everything die down again. Feels more like performative activism. But MDJ is great with this stuff
aaand organ donation:)))
My goodness!! I love this too!!
You were like complaining that the video went from Doctor/Med School content to Mom content but I love it! Isn’t that your whole brand Mama AND Doctor Jones!?!?
Suprised the university didn't consider giving her credits for doing the extra-circular practical hahaha 🤣
“This is the building of the clinic where I went to medical school.”
*Shows picture of the building I literally worked at for 2 years and still visit regularly.*
I SCREAMED. That helix is STILL there. 😂😂
Texas Tech right? I live in Lubbock!
“I’m a weird, cringey person at heart” is THE most relatable thing I’ve heard today
Same.
As a mother of an African American daughter my husband and I have seen medical bias. Thank you for working to make the world a little bit safer for her.
Your twin pregnancy story reminded of my mum's fourth pregnancy. After 3 kids, my parents decided to go for a for another one. Early during the pregnancy the doctors told my mum, that there are two babies, but one may absorb the other (not sure if this is accurate). Few weeks later, on the next visit in the hospital, the doctors confirmed, that there are not two - but three babies. My mum was in shock, my dad kept telling, that these doctors don't know what they are doing :D
But the doctors seemed to be right, exactly 21 years ago my three tiny sisters were born - us, the "older" kids each had a baby to play with.
2:13 “I’m an imposter”
That post was before it’s time
My father had a lung transplant in 2005. We got to have him for 12 extra years. What a blessing! We are also so thankful for our donor family and the gift of organ donation!
On organ donation: I think you should also make sure your next of kin or medical proxy knows your end of life wishes. Be an organ donor. Communicate your wishes so they are honored if they can be.
Absolutely
Very true. Best, too, if written. My mom had her DNR (do not resuscitate) written. Also told us.
Trust me, they don't want my traitor organs lol
In Australia, your next of kin has final say to concent on not.,
I tried to tell this to my mom but she feels so uncomfortable with this topic (as it relates to death) that at the end one day I told her "I know you hate this topic but it's really important for me. Please promise me that if anything happens to me you´ll authorize my organ donation." She agreed and that was it.
I love the way you empower other medical workers (the blood draw part). I think it's good for patients to know that doctors aren't the most knowledgable person in the room about absolutely everything. There is just way too much to know for one human. They're a part of a team that utilizes many different roles. In cath lab it's normal for doctors to turn to the nurses and techs and ask them what they think and if they have any ideas.
Your Betty Ford Center story reminds me of when I was in detox (against my will, thank God for Florida laws and my mother) and a bunch of nursing students came in an sat in on the group meetings and things like that. And they were studying afterwards and I ended up helping them student (because they were working on neuro-psych stuff, and I have a B.S. in psych) and it was really fun. I made up a bunch of questions for them and they were really surprised that this random junkie in the detox knew all this stuff xD They apparently did well on their tests too!
I don't know why that memory sticks out for me, but it was a really welcome change to how boring and horrendous detox is.
I hope you're doing much better now and I'm glad you got the help you needed. It definitely sucks being forced to do anything, even if it's for your own good.
I think people, in general see "junkies" or "psycho" people as below them. So it's very important and great that the student you helped out saw past that.
Glad you are better. I don't think I've ever read the phrase "Thank God for Florida laws" before. That state is one of a handful who seen to be going generally insane
@@dfwdfw9544 It's way better here than you might think. The heat is honestly one of the worst parts, the rest is pretty awesome.
So as a mother of twins you had time to finish med school, diy a dresser and travel the world and here’s me a first time mom I can barely get dressed and feed myself most days. 😅
Ha. I’m kinda crazy. Don’t aspire to have need to DO ALL THE THINGS. You just focus on that baby. There were many days I only sat in bed feeding babies.
All moms are amazing
Sweetheart, I'm sure all of that happened over the course of YEARS; also, im pretty sure MDJ and her hubby had PLENTY of help. Don't ever compare your life to anyone else's, especially not the way it is presented on the 'Gram, bc that is NOT an accurate representation of anyone's actual life.
@@KiraBKADestroyerOfWorlds 💛💛💛
I'm a mama of twin girls and a son too and boy I can only dream of going back to school. :'(
Did not expect MDJ's name to be Danielle
It hadn't occured to me until this video that I didn't know her first name.
I always think Michelle instead, DESPITE knowing otherwise
@@Harri_James right?
She looks like a Dani lol XD
@@Mel_the_Pirate I didn't have any assumptions, but I was definitely not expecting Danielle
As a doctor, the mere words “step one” gave me war flashbacks
Oh NO! Thank you for all you do! #SimTribe
This is why I love MDJ so much, congratulating Elliot Page, calling out race biases in med care, and being so transparent in all areas of her life, this video is so great in so many ways❤️ thank you for sharing!
"You definitely want the phlebotomist or nurse to do your blood draw" - holy HELL yes. Sorry, doctors, but nope. Not in a million years. There have been times I've had to go to the hospital just to get a routine blood test because my GP surgery couldn't manage it, and the phlebotomists have to use a pediatric butterfly needle and a VERY slow draw with a syringe to get enough blood out of me without collapsing my veins. The last time I was admitted for an emergency cardio assessment, it took multiple tries in the inside of both elbows, both wrists, the back of both hands but by far the most painful attempt was in the top of my foot. That crap is tender AF. That was the doctor's attempt and I was bruised for 2 weeks. In the end, one last nurse came in, palpated the inside of my forearm with her thumb for a few seconds, aimed for a vein that was invisible and got a patent IV the first time. She was my saviour.
Oh god my mom’s experience was awful when she was in labor they stabbed her wrist and elbow like 15 times (she has small veins) before admitting defeat and calling an emt to do it. Took them like a second. She was pretty done by this point.
I love my doctor a lot, but I don't want her near me with a needle! My arm was swollen for over a week. Nurse does it and she's done before I realise she's started.
yes! I have perfect veins on my elbow and I had an IV started on me by a resident and she even said my veins were amazing but went for the back of my hand for some reason? anyway, it didn't work and she ended up taking it out and going for the normal IV location on the elbow. I had a giant bruise on my hand and wrist for a weeks after.
If I can possibly get out of getting a blood draw in the office and instead go to Quest or wherever to have a phlemobotmist who literally does a blood draw every 10 minutes for 40 hours a week do it, I absolutely do, they are WAY better than even primary care nurses
Even vaccines need someone who is trained in giving them, I remember the person who was supposed to give me mine was not present or late and they asked a random nurse (at least in my memory it was a random one) blood shot out of me instead of the vaccine getting in
Can't remember the age but that definitely made me scared everytime I get a vaccine just because of how my blood acted one time
The only thing that made me cringe was Ice Coffee cups on top of books 😱
😆😆
🤣🤣🤣
Listen sleep deprivation will make you do scary things (like iced coffee on books)
I have a strict rule that no drinks go anywhere near my laptop or books. Sometimes I'll have to stop studying to walk over and get a drink. Don't care, I know myself way too well.
Omg me too! Dont do that people!
I absolutely love that you're such an advocate for the trans community! My cousin is a trans man, and he said when he has to get his exams, he's been made to feel humiliated and degraded by medical professionals. As a medical assistant student, watching leaders like you gives me hope.
People like her make me want to be a doctor (I'm 14) I love the thought of helping people and giving them more than 1 chance.
We need more good doctors.
@@thelegioncollective I'm now 16.... I still want to be a doctor or a paramedic.
"So many baby pictures. I'm sure you guys dont wanna see all of them." YES, we do. Beautiful lil premie babies!
"It does not exclude you to include others" LOVE THAT MDJ!
DMJ: "I'm a board-certified OBGYN and I went to Med School"
Also DMJ: "Most people have hearts... most people have lungs" XD If you didn't spit out your coffee laughing at this... you are either normal or you got more sleep than I did last night!
LOL
Medical school is clearly money well spent :)
I like how even when talking about hearts and lungs being... essentially a requirement for life, you were like "MOST people have those." The inclusivity don't stop! lol
It would be really cool if you could do a video on "common" pregnancy conditions that a lot of doctors just kind of brush off the concerns of expectant moms, and the things pregnant women can do to mitigate these conditions. For example, my sister is pregnant (currently 14 weeks) and is experiencing a severe PUPPP rash all over her body. Her doctor brushed it off super quickly saying its common and that the only thing she can do is suffer through it until baby is born, but I feel like there has to be SOMETHING people in this situation can do. She is so itchy she is breaking her skin with all of her scratching (causing bleeding/scabs), she's losing large amounts of sleep because the all-over itchiness wakes her up. I know you can't talk about her situation specifically, but I feel like women are brushed aside for a lot of pregnancy conditions, simply because they are "common". Just a thought!
Oh no, I feel so bad for your sister! I had the same condition towards the end of my pregnancy and it was hell. I can't imagine having suffered from it since week 14!
PUPP usually appears in the last weeks.
My Best friend had it as her daughters Blood Type didnt match well.
There is nothing they can do.
Other then clipping your nails short
Try to see if she can take an oatmeal or baking soda bath. That can ease the itchiness. If she goes with the oatmeal bath, just make sure she uses a blender to turn the oatmeal into powder. Then take a bath in that. Oatmeal and baking soda are both natural anti-inflammatory and treats itchiness. A cool towel might help too. There's not much you can do to get rid of it, but there are things you can do to try and calm it down. Get her to ask her doctor or pharmacist about using calamine lotion. That's what we always used for rashes, hives, stinger nettles, big bites, etc. It works wonders for calming any itching and stinging sensations. Don't want to just tell your friend to use it though because it is considered to be an over-the-counter topical medication, and I don't know if it's okay to use while pregnant. I don't see why it wouldn't be okay, but just to be safe, check with a medical professional.
Would Alovera help? I know its meant to help with itching and sunburns.
They also have some stuff here. Has see been seen for all those tests and could she get a Topical steroids cream? And or Antihistamine is said to help
With the itching.
www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/puppps-rash#treatment
Claire Fox Some antihistamines are not safe to use when pregnant. Consult your doctor.
I'm a 34 year old mom if 2 and would be blind due to keratoconus if not for a cornea transplant last year. My donor gave me my independence I'm able to drive still plus I'm able to watch my kids grow up! Please become a donor, it's a single gift that can help so many people live amazing lives.
That is so awesome to hear. My Dad passed away 10 years ago and he was an organ donor. I assumed that because of all the cancer, none could really be used. One day I got a nice letter from the eye bank, thanking him/us for his corneas. I've never had first hand knowledge of anyone actually receiving corneas. So happy for you!!
I almost cried when I checked out the skull for one of my tests in A&P and the last person left a card for a free coffee lol 🙃 💀
She's like aunt showing us pictures from her phone.
You have unknowingly helped me through my first major surgery simply from your advice to speak to my doctor and let them know how fearful I was. I had a cyst removal surgery in September, suffer from anxiety also I'm terrified of needles and it required an epidural. The nurses and surgical team were fantastic, made me feel very safe and really helped me out with my anxiety.
Thank you for everything ❤️
Why are there pickles in the microwave? and why did we not talk about the picture of microwaving pickles???
😆😆 wondered how long this would take. Can’t remember if pregnancy brain or tired med student brain, but I put them there instead of refrigerator and found them the next morning 😆😆
@@MamaDoctorJones 😂. Reminds me of when my mom, not pregnant, put the lettuce in the cupboard and her cell phone in the fridge. Luckily it was the cells of the 90’s so it was ok.
@@teresahowick5197 I put a book in a toaster oven the other day after a 13 hour day of work. (I did not turn it on though just decided that was where it needed to be stored.) lol
When I was pregnant I put a bag of shredded cheese in our "junk" drawer, lol.
I'm late to this party but on multiple occasions when I was pregnant I very carefully placed my phone in the fridge and then couldn't find it for hours 😆 The worst thing was how many times I absent mindedly did this!
I'm more worried that that patient looks like he's awake and has seen something terrible. Maybe we should make him some fruit pebbles treats...
This was an even better video than I thought when I saw the title - I thought it was going to be you reviewing OTHER people's IGs and commenting on their photos so it was a pleasant surprise to see a glimpse into your med school life and learn some behind the scenes secrets! Also - makes you so human which in turn makes me think of my doctors in a more human light as well
I love that you were able to do a rotation at the Betty Ford Center. I feel like addiction is one of those things still misunderstood and looked down upon and one of the best ways to combat stigma and misinformation is to actually get to know multiple people on some level who have or are living with it.
It makes sense, seeing how compassionate you are. We need that in medicine.
❤️
Especially when it comes to the intersection of pregnancy and addiction, it makes me happy to see her talk about her experience with that.
Man, all those cross-processed and brown-tinged filters with the old frames they used to add to the photos... Nostalgic lol
I must admit the recent increase in North Americans moving to NZ makes me nervous, but you'd be a welcome addition.
We’ve been trying to move since 2015, but I needed to be board certified! :(
@@MamaDoctorJones Honestly as a country we'd be lucky to have you :) i definitely suggest Christchurch if you do, no bias or anything 🤣
Are you still nervous about it? New Zealand was a country I wanted to move to, but there was something that changed my mind. I forget what it was.
You remind me of my mom! She also had me and my twin when she was in grad school, though she was getting a PhD in Biology, not a medical degree. So incredible that there are people like you and her who work incredibly hard to achieve their academic and professional dreams while also being awesome moms to twins babies. Both of you are rockstars!
Vet tech here - so the CCL is the cranial cruciate ligament in dogs, and it is similar to the ACL in humans. We just call it cranial due to the fact that dogs walk on all 4, so it is a positional description. That is all! 🙂🙃🙂🙃
I'm in tech school, and I was going to comment that but I blanked on the actual name and have been scrolling through comments disappointed at myself!
Surprised most obgyns don't carry a stethoscope! Mine checks my heart rate and breath sounds at my annual, and she found a heart arrhythmia a couple years ago. Turned out to be nothing serious, but still glad we caught it!
There’s a decent amount of fraud in physician documentation. Medicare requires all “doctor” (MD, DO, PA, NP) visits to have a heart, lung, and abdomen assessment to be reimbursed. And there’s a lot of times when these things aren’t checked but they’re still getting paid 😒 my BSN assessment was taught by a CRNP who worked in a endocrinology clinic at one point and she found so many things that other providers should have found sooner because she did a full assessment on every patient.
I read “annual” as “anal”. I was so confused
My OB caught my thyroid nodules during my second pregnancy. Literally not a single doctor had recommended an annual exam since i was 16.
He came in and asked me when my last one was....15 years ago i told him. Lol. Woopsies.
A lot of attendings and senior residents don't, especially if they have med students they can borrow them from. Those, thankfully, are too big to "lose" easily.
@@vbuck2410 my OB caught my thyroid cancer!!
I love this cause I work in a maternity center and we’re a huge pro breastfeeding force. Hearing any mom of twins able to breastfeed for a year is a triumph without the Med school! Fed is best but for anyone who wants to breastfeed, IT IS POSSIBLE. You need support and you have to want to do it, but it’s possible and I love every time I hear someone has succeeded!
Really enjoyed getting to know you. Love the pictures too! To be married and go through residency is tough, but to be married, CARRY twins, HAVE twins, AND complete everything is phenomenal! I’m assuming your husband and family must’ve been an amazing source of support! So awesome! You’re an inspiration! How were you in high school? Did you play any sports? Were you super smart in high school also? Lastly, did you end up making the second vlog you referred to?
signed up to be an organ donor on my learners permit today... !
That was the moment I signed up too... except it was 20 years ago.
We've already discussed this future decision with our 12 year old daughter. She was surprised to learn we already knew we would choose organ donation for her if something tragic happened, but the conversation was a positive one.
re: physicians stealing pens, once it hit their hands, it was gone. I attached a. scrunchie to my scissors, they never stole it. I also have twins. Mine are boys, 5 weeks premature, weighed 5lbs 13, and 5lbs. 14, just stayed in hospital 1 day longer than me. I’m a double ovulater, grandma is a twin, cousin had twins year before mine. No ultrasound back then, told dr I was having 2, he just told me I was eating too much! Boy, did I show him. boys are now 44, where did those years go?
haha you showed him!
When I was in nursing school, I "lost" two cardiology stethoscopes, each with my name attached or engraved. Then I got another high quality scope and spray-painted the ear tubes with yellow enamel. It was extremely ugly, especially after the paint started chipping (I cleaned it frequently). I had no trouble keeping that one.
I recommend getting special covers for you scissors, stethoscope, ect. or adding something so people know its yours and dont steal it. I see a lot of cool stethoscope things on amazon
My mom is a twin and I love hearing about how my grandma had no clue (no one did). I can’t even imagine the shock of having two babies when you’re expecting one. Sounds like you were clued in from your own intuition, but still... crazy!
What a beautiful story of your cute family. Thanks for sharing 💖
I love that you talk about motherhood in this video. I’ve been considering medical school, but am so scared to put off starting a family for a number of reasons. I have so many questions about it and feel like I have nowhere to go with them. Thank you for sharing!
"It doesn't exclude you to include others." I love this. Imma use it.
Organ, tissue, and cornea donation are a really important topic to educate yourself on and you should definitely have conversations with your loved ones about their wishes in regards to donation! And just as an FYI, lots of people who "are too sick to donate" can actually still help through tissue and cornea donation. Amazing fact: heart for valve donation can save the lives of 2 babies with heart defects. I used to coordinate these types of donation, which is why it's so important to me!
Yes! My grandad died years ago from liver cancer that had spread pretty much everywhere and he was still able to donate both of his corneas.
@@arianneouellet692 Wow Arianne, that's amazing! Cornea donation is so special in the way it impacts every aspect of the recipients' lives (ex. Imagine seeing snow, rainbows, autumn trees, etc for the first time in years). I hope that your grandfather's donation gave your family some measure of peace during that time
@@chloegaudet3142 My grandma even got a certificate and a little medal in his name, it was so special! Thank you for your kind words
I had no idea! Someone I know got a liver transplant almost 10 years ago. Organ donation saves lives.
When our little girl died 4 years ago, years of medical issues had destroyed her major organs. Because organ donation is important to us, we asked to meet with donor services anyway. She was able to donate her corneas and the hospital requested a research autopsy due to the rareness of her conditions. We feel so blessed for both opportunities to help.
We later learned that both corneas were successfully transplanted into two different individuals. This still makes my soul smile, knowing my little girl gifted the opportunity for sight to others.
You want someone who has found veins in neonatal babies to take blood. Their vein finding skills are second to none.
There are so many reasons poking veins can be difficult. I am super pale and all my veins are really close to the surface. I have had nurses and phlebotomists actually comment on how nice my veins are. Drawing blood has never been a problem. Getting an IV on the other hand, is much harder. The very reason my veins are so "nice" being close to the surface makes it extremely difficult to properly place an IV. I have had 3 IVs in my life and every time it took three tries and two nurses because the IV needle has to go so deep it just pokes right out the other side, leaving massive bruises in my arms or hands. Even warning the nurses hasn't helped, though I know they are trying to be so careful.
@@wiseoneedarra593 if you ever need an IV again, ask them to use a butterfly needle.
That is hard to do and I’m always afraid of it.
I work in an animal hospital. We take blood on everything from 2lb kittens to 200lb dogs that are trying to bite our faces off. I always tease my phlebotomists and nurses that they have it easy, I roll up my sleeve and show them where my best vein is!
My sister is one of the worst people to draw blood on that I know. Since she was a dialysis patient they could only use one arm and on top of that she had been getting blood draws on at least a monthly basis from the time she was probably about 7 (she's 31 now) and so when someone actually manages to draw blood on the first attempt I am very impressed with them.
So glad I came across this video. Thank you for sharing some of your experience as a mom going through med school. It’s very motivating ❤️

Doctor Jones, I just wanted to put in the comments how much I adore your channel. Literally I'm in bed sick with URI and constipation cramping on top of that, and even though it's hard and sometimes painful for me to laugh, I'm not feeling it as much watching you, as I genuinely enjoy watching your content and you're bringing a smile to my face despite not being able to do a lot I can do when I'm not sick. Same I was like yeah they use this one for this check and this one for this.... tot then realise that it isn't common knowledge. I have checks every 6 months that started when I was a super curious kid.

I have to pretend literally anything else is happening or I end up passed out on the floor and the poor nurses huddling around me with a blood pressure monitor bringing me snacks and juice 🤦
I am so proud of you. I know how hard being a mom is just by looking at how hard my mom has worked for me and my siblings. @@tin6962 You donate one kidney and keep the other. The liver regrows from the lobe left.
I feel like I was listening to my best friend catch me up to the best parts of her life. Thank you so much for posting; I thoroughly enjoyed the video! 🥰
Loved going thru these photos with you. I know how hard it is with kids and babies makes it crazy. You are awesome
Yes, more videos like this! It was so fun to see a bit of your past. One of my best friends had a baby in medical school and she had hyperemesis gravidarum. I think she had to take a whole semester off due to necessity but she did graduate and is a wonderful doctor in KY :) Your twins are adorable. Time flies.
I had previously signed up to be a donor but not in the UK it is an opt out system so everyone is an organ donor unless they choose to opt out
My province in Canada is now opt-out instead of opt-in, which is amazing. Donation numbers have increased significantly. I wish this policy could be adopted everywhere!
I like that.
@@Jane-dr2wg where?! I’m in Québec
That's so much better than opt-in!
Yes, but it's still worth registering. For some absorb reason, family members get the final say in donation. If you have done nothing, they may think you dont want to donate. People are more likely to support it if you have actively opted in
My friend and I were talking about how strong Elliott Page is for being able to play a female character in an ongoing show because being trans is difficult enough to go through without being reminded of it constantly
So true
This is why I didn't start theatre, even though I always knew on some level that acting was my passion, until after I came out - cause I knew no one would cast me in the male roles I wanted so desperately to play. Makes me mourn the entire childhood I could have spent onstage and lament that I had to start at an age where those younger than me could have had up to 10+ years' experience over me. But, I'm glad on some level that I recognized what kept me from my passion in the first place, and amended it pretty much as soon as I realized.
@@abitofajoke4708 You just made me realised how great my primary school was for making everyone able to play any gender character you wanted to play. No questions asked. I hope more schools will become like that. I hope you found your way into theater eventually.
I really enjoyed you going through your IG posts. It was a good way to learn about you and hear why there are certain photos posted (your first maternity purchase!). I know I am very late to respond to your request about making these types of vlogs but my vote is yes- I love them!
I just want like 7 more videos of you just going through pictures and talking about your life! it's so interesting.... and somehow you make it feel like reminiscing with a friend.
Anyone else currently pregnant and wishing they were close enough to have dr Jones as their OB? I love my obgyn now but mama dr Jones you really have something about you that makes people feel comfortable and okay with being open and honest about anything and everything. 😩😩 I wish.
Ugh intubation and a pandemic do not go well together, I had to go to the store the day after a laparoscopy and could not stop coughing, the amount of looks that I received , it was so embarrassing.
I had to blow my nose in the car (I have chronic stuffy/runny nose for years now and tried to hide doing it. Paranoid I’d be judged.
@@teresahowick5197 same here. I have no idea where it started from.
As a current medical student I loved this video omggg!! I just finished my first semester but will definitely be applying to the Betty Ford Center for one of my elective rotations in 4th year :)
Tough year to start med school. You are amazing for taking on the challenge right now. Thank you for all you do! #SimTribe
all the precious memories were so cool to see💓 so inspiring to see you then, with twins finishing school & now Dr. Mom lol with your amazing content! 🩺💛
I'm terribly inspired how you manage your professional and personal life along with your CZcams career! Just wow. Thank you for making me feel guilty about procrastinating and leading to being productive XD
LOVE from India ❤️
I second this! 😅❤️
As a phlebotomist who’s studying to be a doctor all I ever hear is complaints anyhow bad doctors and nurses are at blood draws
I just tell the phlebotomists I see, “might need to use my hand” because my arm veins are practically invisible. No complaints from me.
Good luck to you!! That's awesome.
I loved this one. Made me happy and fuzzy.
Lovely to get both the doctor and the mummy sides of your life. Well done handeling it all
That's nice of you to take us on a story I'm photos of your memories. It really shows the motivation, perseverance and life and work skills/efforts to do the work to achieve where you wanted to be in life. And you do a ton of different things. Really mind blowing.
That really brings me back. My wife completed med school probably a couple years ahead of you. It was an absolutely insane experience to be married into. We had our first child during her fourth year. Residency was hell though.
Please thank her for all she does! and thank you for providing support! Family support has never been more important. #SimTribe
MDJ: I did not enjoy poking my finger.
Me: *Laughs in type 1 diabetes.
You know what's terrifying is learning how to check your tiny newborns bsl in order to bring them home from the NICU...I got really good, really fast, because man is it hard to check bsl on a kid as they get older. It was like wrangling an octopus and I got quick!
I live in New Zealand, made me so happy to hear you talk about it so positively!
That's the one country I'd love to move to. America and I haven't been getting along well, but I don't have any job skills that New Zealand is short of.
What a lovely video! It is really nice to get to know you better. So many things about the internet are fake, or acting. It's nice to see the real life of these real people that we listen to and learn from!
Ok now where's your myspace?
Hahahaha I don’t think I could find that if I tried. But oh the cringe would be real
@@MamaDoctorJones hey can you do video about being trans males or non binary and going to obgyn
@@MamaDoctorJones I really want more I didn’t know I was pregnant please please please 🥺🥺🥺
@@lizzieterry9508 She does about one a month
Definitely read that as “middle school Instagram” and was incredibly confused how you were already delivering babies. 😂
I appreciate you talking about your rotation at the Betty Ford Clinic. I'm a recovering alcoholic, and have been in recovery since 2006, and I've unfortunately not come across a lot of medical doctors who really understand much about it. I wish more doctors would make the effort to learn more about it.
I absolutely loved this video. It was nice seeing how you made it through juggling family and school. I just finished my first semester of nursing school and my final goal is to be a midwife. I have 8 kids, and I really appreciated how you were able to fulfil your dreams and still be a mother.
I literally just sat and smiled through this entire video. Its just a warm fuzzy feeling. Thank you for sharing that part of your journey ❤
I love that you mentioned Elliot when the situation presented itself!! 💚
I LOVED this video...I mean, I love all your videos, but this one was extra special, and I stayed up a whole half hour longer to watch it! Yes, PLEASE do the residency and attending IG/Blog video!!!
It is so funny that I am watching this a yr later and you moved there! Good luck with all your new journeys ❣️
