      @@brainguynyc8729 thank for your comment. It is correct that in this video, we do not look at the maintenance of the device. The focus of the video is the unboxing and the features to get to know the device better. We are planning a specific video on cleaning and maintenance including filter change. If you have any questions, please contact us via service@stadlerform.com

    We could really use a setup guide since the manual seems incomplete... It keeps referring to a led light, we simply cant see any lights turning on anywhere...

      Thank you for your comment and your input, we check, if such a video can be done. In the meantime, what is causing problems? Please describe and we surely will be able to help you. All the best from Samuel @ Stadler Form.

    Hi. If one uses Karl Big for a chalet that one visits for a week or so, and then not again for another two weeks (and presumably the water tank runs low/out during the hiatus), will the fluctuations in humidity cause problems with old hardwood floors or wooden ceilings? How long does the 11-liter tank last at a low level of humidity generation? Thanks

    • @stadlerform
      @stadlerform  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi there, thank you for your message. Best case would be, if someone could refill Karl big during the absence. If this is not possible, the unit will just run out of water and then stop. It will be ready for the next refill with water upon the next arrival. The fluctuations of humidity are always a problem. This happens as well during the change of seasons and can make the wood crack. But it is an existing problem with humidity fluctuations and the only way to avoid it, is to constantly keep the humidity at a certain level (45% for example). The water tank lasts for about 10 hours in maximum output level, always depending on the room's humidity level. All the best from Samuel @ Stadler Form.

    What is the point of that sleeve rather than one more thing to clean? And why does it have an external power brick? Those are two design flaws compared to Oskar.

    • @stadlerform
      @stadlerform  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi @alexsotir,
      Thank you for your comment. The Oskar devices also need to be connected to the power supply. The textile cover can simply be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and even washed. Design is a matter of taste and with the Karl family we have a great addition to the Oskar family that is visually and technically different. So there is something for every taste. :-) Have a nice day. Best regards, Lea from @ Stadler Form

    Does it clean the water that it outputs into the room air? Does it have an ultraviolet light or something?

    • @stadlerform
      @stadlerform  Před 7 měsíci +1

      No, it does not clean the water. We do have the water cube or the hygiene tabs that keep the water as clean as it was when added to the unit. There is no UV light. However, with either the water cube or the hygiene tabs, the unit is very safe to operate. If you do not use the unit for some time - please remove the water. Standing water in a non operating humidifier can deteriorate quickly. All the best from Samuel @ Stadler Form.

      @@stadlerform Why is it that evaporative humidifiers do not seem to clean the water while many ultrasonic humidifiers use an UV light to kill bacteria from the mist that they output?

    • @stadlerform
      @stadlerform  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@sampsalol great question. In our eyes, UV light is not needed in a humidifier. UV light works quite good, but it needs can also damage the plastic used in humidifiers and it can be dangerous for the human eye. Therefore we rather rely on what other technologies we have to keep the water fresh. But that's only our side of the story, we cannot reply why other manufacturers of evaporative humidifiers decide the same, remains for them to clarify. We believe that either water cube or hygiene tabs combined with regular cleaning of the humidifier makes UV light redundant. All the best from Samuel @ Stadler Form.

    These units have a design fault, the PCB is not protected against moisture, causing corrosion to the electric components and eventually failure of the device

    • @stadlerform
      @stadlerform  Před měsícem

      Thank you @MariusDik - we had some cases where users unfortunately spilled some water into the openings for the hygrostat on top of the unit. In order to avoid defects, we now fully seal the PCB. In case of defects, we can offer to repair the unit by exchanging the concerned PCB. Thank you for your comment and all the best from Samuel @ Stadler Form.

      Hi Stadler
      Yes, the location of the Karl’s filling opening is unfortunate. But also condensation and high humidity air causes this corrosion.
      I moved back to a Stadler Oskar
      Hopefully this PCB is better protected against moisture, because there are 230v components inside.
      We will see
