    I have the Oster Australis Rose, Vinta Lakambini, and Iroshizuku Momiji. I will have them in my pens as long as they make them! I currently have some in my Lamy Cherry Blossom and pink Pilot Kakuno. Great video!

      Thank you so much for watching! I definitely need to pick up a bottle of Momiji - very pretty shade.

    I'm using Conklin Dusty Rose which is similar yet different than Spadina Rose in that it leans closer to purplish undertones where I see more red undertones in the FWP one.

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 7 měsíci

      Just looked up some swatches of the Conklin, and it's beautiful. 😍 You're right, it does lean a bit more purple, I think, but totally in my wheelhouse. Thanks for letting me know about it (and for watching)!!

      The answer is always all of them...except maybe Sakura-Mori. LOL I ended up inking my Platinum 3776 with it, and I'm definitely not sold on the color. It's lovely for a more traditional pink, just maybe not for me. Oh! And I didn't add it on here because I'd already kind of fudged the definition of pink and dusty rose for White Rabbit, but if you haven't used Sailor Yurameku Kitsune Biyori, you should definitely try it. It rides the line between beige and pale pink (definitely leaning toward beige), and I've been loving it in my Benu Euphoria with the MCSI nib. So pretty!

    Loved this!! I have rose gold antiqua in the twsbi RG mini too!! And I have a tonnnnn of pinks inked! I’m calling it my bouquet of roses because they almost all have rose in the name lol. So fun

    I love all those colors. I have Vinta Lakambini inked up this month as well as Vinta Lakbay. I have them in TWSBI's. The Lakbay is in a 1.1 stub and I've had to take out some of the shimmer and add more of the base color to stop it from clogging. I've also put more base color with the Lakambini. The colors are so pretty. I am wondering if I put in a smidge of White Lightning if it will flow a bit better. Those colors are right up my ally. Id love to know how the Antique Rose Gold works for you.

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 7 měsíci

      I did end up inking my Kaweco with the Lakambini, but the medium nib just wasn't able to keep up, so I swapped it out for my TWSBI Eco with a stub nib, and it seems to be doing OK. Now that it's in a pen where it actually works, I'm loving the color. It's the first Vinta I've had where I've had any real issues, and I use a ton of their shimmers, so I guess Lakambini must be, like 80% shimmer or something crazy. :) I'll let you know how my Rose Gold Antiqua adventures go once I've had a little more time with it, but so far, it's behaving really well for me.

      I love Vintage Lakambini. I use it in a makers pen with medium nib. I get a lot of shimmer but it’s a beautiful ink.

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 12 dny

      I think it's one of those inks that seems to be a little bit hit or miss from bottle to bottle. I just wish I had a bottle that wasn't quite so shimmer heavy because I love the colors.

  • @KenchanKrafts

    LOL When you swatched the first ink and was like, "ok, this is not dusty. it's just pink" LOL! I agree, it is the traditional pink - it's like Pilot Kosumosu. Too pinky for me. I didn't know Spadina rose was that saturated and dark......I may be thinking of another pink ink by FWP that's super light in the dusty pink color...based on your experiences, does spadina rose come out light or actually dark like that in your swatches? XD I will need to try Kyujang guk. That's a lovely mix between Rouille Dancre and Spadina rose.

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Maybe you're thinking of Ferris Wheel Press' Lady Rose? It's gorgeous, but super light...though now that I'm thinking of it, I might have to give it another try. :) As for Spadina Rose, it's definitely a very visible rich rose, but it leans toward the edges you see in the swatch and in the thinner lines than it does in the super dark pools. I really do love it, and it's "serious" enough for me to use at work, which I love. Definitely try out Kyujang Gak - one of my favorites in this part of the color spectrum. I've heard a lot of people compare it to Taranish's Opera Rose, which I've been wanting to try for ages.

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@snarkywordsworth Yes, you are right. It would be Lady Rose haha! That one is illegible. I can go without that one. It's probably better for people who write really tiny and need as dry of an ink as possible to manage the small writing xD Time to go to Vanness and get some samples lmao!

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@KenchanKrafts I'm thinking I might try and mix my little sample of Lady Rose with something (anything) else to try and make it usable. I write small, but I just can't get it to work for me without something else. I might try a couple drops of Spadina Rose, Blushing Mushroom, or Queen Allium.

    I don't use pink ink very often but when I do I want something that can't be ignored like Robert Oster Hot Pink. I usually put it in a pen that's hard to ignore like my BENU Talisman Mandrake. 💗 By the way, was that a stamper for making wax seals that you were using for the ink swatches?

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 7 měsíci

      I can absolutely understand using something a little more in your face than the pinks I gravitate toward, and I love the idea of upping the intensity with a bright Benu. :) And yes, I make my swatches with an old blank wax seal stamper that I've had for years. I'd been looking for a convenient way to do swatch circles (I'd tried a ton of other methods but hadn't really loved any of them) when I remembered I had a flat blank stamp from when I got into making seals decorated with dried flowers. It's great and allows for more control than a lot of the other ways I'd been trying.

    Why don’t you get white lightening for your dry inks? That’s what I do with my Robert osters when I am using with my F and EF nibs

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 5 měsíci

      That's a great question. I do actually have White Lightning, but there have been enough times when I didn't end up loving the results (all user error, not the product) that it makes more sense for me to just put the ink in another pen. All the inks mentioned here are beautiful, and it's just been a matter of finding the right nib for them - no additives necessary. Well, except for Lakambini - that one's my Waterloo. 😅 Thanks so much for watching!

    • @PickwickTurtle
      @PickwickTurtle Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@snarkywordsworth interesting. I wonder if their formula has changed because I have some from a few years ago and tbh I don’t know how one misuses it. It makes the ink more flowy. If you add too much, it makes it that much flowy-er. But it does cap out at some point. A friend uses a drop per converter full.

    • @snarkywordsworth
      @snarkywordsworth  Před 5 měsíci

      Even with just a drop, it can make some of my otherwise fountain-pen friendly work papers decidedly unfriendly (unfriendly as in feathering prone). Again, I'm not blaming the White Lightning - I'm sure it's a combo of me and the papers. Regardless, if I can only use the doctored inks in my TR notebooks, I'd rather just experiment with nibs.

    • @PickwickTurtle
      @PickwickTurtle Před 5 měsíci

      @@snarkywordsworth ah, I don’t think I’ve ever had it feather on TR but that would put me off too.
