Awesome vid guys !! Amber really did awesome as most people have problems with doing a flip on any Rc and one that size is so much harder and she caught on really quick and I’m not really surprised as she is really good at handling all the Rc’s. I knew you both would really enjoy the Xmaxx and I won’t be surprised if it becomes your favourite bashing and all round best Rc unit, and ya the pinion definitely needs to be lock tightened and I’d either do the drywall tape and shoe goo to strengthen up your Xmaxx body or all Rc bodies you want to last for awhile or get the indestructible bodies and save your original ones. I do believe you guys will also get a lot of enjoyment out of your EXB as Arrma has made those units really tough also, but there’s really nothing out there that competes with the stock Xmaxx with a few minor upgrades , as the 1/5 EXB Arrma units are also really tough but their upgraded to the hilt plus it still has a few weak points and you also have to add all the electronics , so dollar for dollar the Xmaxx is definitely the way to go. I can’t wait to see what abuse you guys put your EXB through. Stay and Play Safe !! 👊✌️
I gotta say I've stopped in on you guys channel from time to time..... and I always came away from the videos appreciating the fun that can be had with RC......your unbiased reviews have helped me personally when I was looking to add to my humble RC fleet.... Now because I'm finally getting the "The Big One" in a couple of days myself I've been watching a lot of vids about the X-Maxx and I gotta say... you guys beat the dog outta that rig in this video .... and the beast took it with little or no major problems ...Bravo!!! so now I don't have that feeling of wow that's a lotta money for an RC....lolol well worth the price of admission ....... Great video guys really enjoyed it . The XMaxx is just an all around great RC Monster Truck , its arguably the greatest RC to date . Theres very little that can go wrong , however i had the same issue with the pinion coming loose . I try to stay clear of the red loctite , it can be a pain in the ass if you need to remove such a small set screw , ive stripped out many . The only other issue was the spur gear , Ive torn them to pieces more then once . Im certain the problem was the gear meshing , the locating pins or the designated holes to set the gear mesh , must have been out . After a few trashed pinions and spur gears , i removed the pins altogether and meshed the gears using a piece of paper , since doing so i havent had a single issue . As far as durability the XMaxx is a beast , its as tough as a Sherman tank. Cant wait for your next video , until then have fun and most important stay safe , Cheers

I do love my Xmaxx it’s a great truck. Tough, looks cool, big size, fast, soaks up every bump and rut. That green body looks great I have the orange but I started with a blue body. My Xmaxx is a 6s original truck converted to 8s with the Traxxas power up kit they released a while back.

I’ve watched a bunch of your videos but never subbed until today. Never realized I wasn’t. You should get some dense foam and cut it out for spacers in the battery tray. I have a couple sizes I made and it keeps the battery from moving and coming out I have to agree with you guys the Traxxas XMaxx is a beast and it’s crazy tough!!! Nice jumps and yes Amber you tested the durability and also nailed the backflip!! 👊👍 great video guys!!!

I'll add... and I'm sure you've heard it a million times... 50 weight shock oil all round on the X-Maxx for bashing.... they behave a little more on the limit... and take big hits a little better. and the shocks don't leak as much lol....

Exactly what happened to my xmaxx too. The front wouldn't return. What fixed it was opening up the shock caps and moving the shock shaft up and down to remove any air. I found that my shock caps was just a bit loose. I have a feeling after a big impact it burped and had negative air pressure.

I have a suggestion for your GroPro mounts but it *WILL* be permanent.
If you heat the bottom for the sticky pad on the clip for around 10 seconds with a flame, it will stick really well to the body and really takes a beating. I've tried it on one of my RCs and crashed it quite a lot and the GoPro mount has never come off.

Great video guys. Well done Amber, nice jumps and flips :) Looks like the beast lives another day. For the body you can reinforce the shell which will help to stop the shell from breaking on impact. Of course won't help with the scuffs and scratches, but you wont need to replace the shell. How did the Kraton compare? Looking forwards to a comparison. Keep up the good work :)

You said that the typhon broke on the other jump and it's true but the difference is that you jump a lot more faster and longer than with the xmaxx, i want to see the xmaxx jumping at 90kph.

A hobby wing max6 esc wig stock motor will be a killer set up. If you do upgrade the motor I'd do 1100kv as 800kv in my view is overkill.

Just an awesome video. Little tip: when u do a frontflip it is mandatory to tap the brake and then go reverse, otherwise the car will turn sideways and land on one wheel. If u wanna know the science behind it, it is due to the intermediate axis theorem.

Mine breaks just about every time I take it out. All the electronics & motor had to be warranties 2 months after I got it. 5 months of ownership, prolly well over $500 in parts and countless hours of wrenching.
