Really enjoyed this video and the music too. I have been to Skye many times and really hope to return soon when all the turmoil has calmed down. Thank you for this as it brought back the magic of Scotland to me whilst in lockdown

My husband and I are going July 2023. I have driven all through the Connemara region of Ireland a couple of times. Looks like I will be fine. I have never had problem with driving on the left side, it’s the width of the road, but I figured it out. Rent the smallest car you can and know how to drive a manual. You do shift with the left hand but your brain will adjust quickly if you already know how to shift gears. Automatics are rare and twice at much to rent, Then, don’t look at the on coming vehicles. Keep them in your peripheral vision but focus on the edge of the left side of the road. Like oncoming headlights on a dark night. Looking at the oncoming car will cause you to over correct and run off the road. The other car is trying to miss you too, but the edge of the road won’t budge. Finally study up on roundabouts and being in the correct lane before you enter for your exit.

I'm a UK driver and drove on thr right for 25yrs. The T-junction is an especially 'be aware' moment. Drive carefully.

Exactly what I was looking for thanks! Am trying to decide whether I could handle renting a car and driving there. Watching this certainly makes me want to try!

We’re making a driving tour of Scotland in a couple months, including 4 nights on Skye, & I’m a tad nervous about driving on the left. This video is reassuring as to how frequently the passing zones come along.

A driving aid: You can buy a clear sticker with a horizontal arrow. Stuck on the windscreen above drivers view; it points to the side you should be driving on. It's in your eye view as soon as you start the car !!
So in England , point it to the left. It's useful to reverse this when back in your home country; at least for the first few days -)
there's also one which includes a round about on the same sticker showing direction to traverse.
      Take care at T junctions.
The first few days you tend to really take care. A few days in you tend to gain confidence; take extra care now for mistakes!!

Enjoying your video, so tranquil, simple and straightforward. I will visit at the end of September, and look forward to seeing countryside like this.

What a gnarly road...surely some tourist money could improve it...😘

These roads are typical and suffer a lot through the winter months weather. They're OK to drive; no real issues and constantly maintained.. Many of these roads are 'single passing' which at least reduces road maintenance; they're are a characteristic of the beautiful scenery and exciting.

The amount of tourist traffic doesn’t help the roads , visitors contribute very little here on Skye , hundreds and hundreds of campervans , don’t want to pay to park on camp sites , buy all their food before they get here and leave the rubbish for us to clear up , not a good situation

At 19:38, are you psychic? You seemed to know that van was coming even though it was around a corner and looked like you couldn't see it.😀 Beautiful video btw.

I cannot advise on that one. If you fly in probably at Inverness/Glasgow/Edinburgh airports.
