Please any information!!

    Hello Chioma. My name is Kemi from Nigeria. I also want to come over to Australia for my MSW but the two schools I selected(Flinders University and Southern Australia University in Adelaide) both say I have to apply through an agent. I just want to ask, which schools did you select and did you need an agent to apply to those schools?
    I am really stressed out because my sister got scammed by agents before she finally travelled to the UK. My father doesn't want that to happen to me, so he is forcing me to go to London but I don't want to go.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Kemi, yes some unis require you apply through an agent especially if applying offshore. I didn't have to go through an agent because I applied from within Australia. To be sure you are using an approved agent, you should find the agent's information on the school's official website. For Flinders, I found this www.flinders.edu.au/international/education-agents/our-team. Use the representatives listed for Africa. Hope this helps. Goodluck 😊

    Would IELTS 5.5 be enough for the English language requirement for a Ph.D. visa applicant? However, I have checked the document checklist of Deakin University on the Home Affairs Department website, and there is no English test for Deakin University. Please I need clarification. I already wrote my IELTS and I got 5.5. Thank you

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před 2 lety

      Hi Aminu, check if Deakin actually needs ielts from you. You can email or call them directly. Some schools waive English language requirements for applicants from countries where English is an official language. For your visa application however, 5.5 should be sufficient (last I checked). Please verify the currency of this information.

    • @lifewithchioma

      Hi Divine, people with an unrelated Bachelor degree might be required to do a bridging diploma for a year before studying the MSWQ. To study toward a lower qualification at TAFE your statement of purpose must strongly address your reasons, otherwise you will not fulfill the GTE requirement. Thanks

    Hello :) When are you going live again? :)
    I am married with two kids (both under 18 years old). I received two different pieces of advice about lodging a student visa.
    1 - to lodge a visa for me as a student of MSW, wait for the grant, before I apply for dependent visas for my spouse and my two kids. (but we won't be able to arrive in Australia all at the same time)
    2 - to include my spouse and my two kids' visa application right away as I apply for my student visa. (but risk having immi reject my application)
    I do want my family to go with me right away, but do not want to risk immi rejecting my visa. Which one do you suggest I do? Is there a third option to this? Thank you.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Abigail,
      I won't be live this weekend, but I'll announce a date soon. To answer your question, I can't advise you about the best option as I have seen cases where families came in together at once but also where they came in separately. I also know a few people whose family application was denied and I'm unsure why it happened. If it helps, my family came in separately, two months apart. Husband first and as soon as he started his course, we applied for myself and the kids. I would say 2 months is manageable to be apart from family but again, I have no idea what visa processing times are like right now due to covid related backlogs. I am sorry, I can't be more help than this, but goodluck with whatever you decide
