Visited McKinney from SF Bay areas and that town square reminded me of downtown Sonoma CA quite a bit! Both historic 1800s feel to them. It's definitely a nice looking suburb!
McKinney does have that old city charm.
Interesting to say you said it reminded you of Sonoma. It reminded me more of Petaluma and their downtown and slightly of Sebastopol. I was a Sonoma County native from birth for 30 years before moving in 2019 first to Addison, TX. Then found McKinney and bought a house in July 2021. Couldn't be happier so glad I don't live in California anymore. Freedom is priceless!!!

Texas is one of the most tax-friendly states in the country. In addition to the low cost of living and affordable cities and real estate and many job opportunities, the state does not require residents to pay personal income taxes.I might consider moving to Texas from Chicago, Illinois.
I love Chicago's downtown skyline. However, just to visit. Texas has much more to offer.

Maybe I'll move to Texas, I'm looking at videos, I have three options in Texas... the first option is Paris Tx, the second option is McKinney and the third option is Dallas, I would like to know about these places and their safest areas and good school district.
McKinney is safe and has great schools. Dallas is huge, so depends on the area. Paris Texas is nothing like the other cities.
