    I own both - well, an Apollo x4 with UA Plugins in my studio and an Evo 4 for my mobile rig. I can use the native versions of the UA Plugins with the Evo 4 too. I’m very impressed with the Evo 4 for the price.

      Hey thanks for leaving a comment! The Apollo x4 is an awesome interface for sure! I was also very impressed by the evo4 for the price and agree that’s it’s perfect for a mobile rig.

    Hi! Great content! I found your channel today and 10min later I had to suscribe haha
    One question: what interface would you recommend me? I’ve been producing for the last 9 years..started with an M-audio, upgraded to Focusrite Scarlet like 6 years ago. I had to sell it last year, and I’ve been tracking with an Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD since then.
    I fell that maybe my ears won’t appreciate something like the Apollo…so maybe SSL?
    Anyway, thank you for reading haha bless ya

      Hey AlanTerryuk, thank you so much for subscribing! It's crazy how you literally owned all of my previous interfaces. I also started (17 years ago) with an M-Audio 1 channel interface, then upgraded to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and then saved money for about a year and bought the Apollo Twin. Let me tell you, best gear investment I've made and for me there is no going back.
      However, ever since starting this channel I've had the opportunity to test out different interfaces and my top recommendations would be either the Universal Audio Volt 276 or the Audient iD24.
      Here is my review of the AUDIENT ID24: czcams.com/video/NUrSIKZwsmI/video.html
      I haven't tested the SSL so I can't speak on that.
      Anyway, hope it helps!

    Hey man in your experience did the Duo core hold up enough for you plugin wise? Ive pretty much decided on getting the new Twin X USB version but not sure whether i go for the Duo or Quad. I just work in a home studio i have setup, really nothing crazy. Thanks again bro!

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hey, so I have the Quad core version and never had any plugin issues. My vocal chain uses about 4-5 plugins. So I would research videos here on CZcams of the duo core and compare to see what fits your needs.

    To set the smart gain, how loud should I talk/sing to the microphone? Should I just talk normally, or louder than usual?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You should talk/sing how you are about to record your track. I would go over the song or your recording a couple of times to warm up your voice and then set the gain.

    Hello, which one would you recommend?
    ID4 vs Evo 4
    -I have Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250Ohm headphones
    -I work in the box
    -Sometimes record vocals and guitar (rarely)
    Price difference between ID4 & Evo 4 is around $50 USD.
    This will be my first audio interface. Also, considering my use case shared above, would you recommend spending a bit more on the next variant of any of these two interfaces (Evo 8 or ID 14, based on what you recommend).
    Suggestions for any other audio interface within the same range is also welcome. Thanks!

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 11 měsíci

      It really comes down to your needs.
      If you’re brand new to recording and want the smart gain control so you don’t have to worry about your gain levels, then go with the EVO4: amzn.to/43UOPMT
      However, if you want a better sounding preamp for your mic and guitar and you want access to the Audient Mixer software, then go with the iD4: amzn.to/4597s0A
      If you want, check out my review of the Audient iD24: czcams.com/video/NUrSIKZwsmI/video.html
      Hope it helps!

      @@homestudioacademy Thank you! I just ordered Audient iD4 MKII and wanted to know if there’s a difference in product between the following two. The title on the online stores is different. Is it just the ports or are these a different product completely?
      Audient iD4 MKII 2-in/2-out USB-C Audio Interface
      Audient iD4 (MKII) 2in/2out USB 3.0 Audio Interface
      Also, will there be any difference in the audio quality if I use USB 3.0 to Type C data cable to connect my PC and ID4?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 11 měsíci

      @@tushar_music01 congrats on your purchase! I believe it’s the same based on the comparison chart on the Amazon link: amzn.to/3KxgPzk
      If you scroll down to the connection chart/picture, it’s shows: “USB 3.0 (USBC)”.
      So overall no apparent change.
      Also, connection type does not effect audio quality, only latency*. For example, USBC/USB 3.0 is faster than USB 2.0… based on what you shared, you should get pretty great speeds.
      Hope it helps!

    Evo 4 or focusrite 2i2?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I prefer the EVO4 compared to the Scarlett 3 gen which I owned many many years ago… can’t speak about the 4th gen because I haven’t tried it. The smart gain control on the EVO4 is a great feature and its biggest selling point. Also, in general, I think the preamps on Audient interfaces sound better than Focusrite. Just my opinion though. Hope it helps!

      @@homestudioacademy EVO 8 vs Volt 4\476? Also I just bought a dell laptop with a Ryzen 7 processor, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD… will this suffice with the evo?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  Před 6 měsíci

      @@Bronco2Cj it comes down to your needs. I lean more towards the Volt 476 because it has a better sounding pre (610B) and a built in compressor (1176). Keep in mind, it only has 4 channels so I would if you’re planning to record vocals, guitar, bass, piano, (4 mics at most). However, if you’re planning to mainly record drums, you need 8 inputs and you care about the smart gain control, then go with the evo8.

      @@homestudioacademy My main goal is to record guitar first, then mic, and then keyboards down the road and then drumkit aka electronic drum kit.. The EVO 8 is 4 in, 4 out just like the Volt 476.. The EVO 16 is the 8 in 8 out which I don't get their naming convention but oh well...

      I have a computer with 516GB storage and never had any issues loading the plugins.
