- Just want to point out that Lords Rake is a DANGEROUS route. Rock falls and falling scree have made this path extremely dangerous lately.
The Chockstone fell 5yrs ago.
If you do take on this walk please be responsible and respect the fells.
Best video I have seen showing Lords Rake and it's challenges! Thank you.
Thank you robin I love waking up to messages like this. Thanks again
I’ve got a few other ridge walks and rakes aswell
I know now why I have never done Lords Rake although would be awesome in well consolidated snow.. Fox's Tarn, my chosen route I'm sure is easier with Broad Stand being quicker if not technically more difficult. Great video though, enjoyed it!
It would be great. U not gonna give it a go?
Maybe one day?
@@RamblingWithRitchie lots of reasons keeping me off the fells/mountains now Ritchie. Will now leave it to you young lads. My days of Munros and Wainwrights are now well and truly behind me mate, just the memories now and reliving paths once trod in videos such as yours. Thank you.
Excellent video. Thanks so much for filming this, I know I would never manage this or anything like it but so good to see what it entails. Hard enough going up, the thought of having to come down ...! Dramatic and scary scenery, so good to see people treating it with respect.
Thanks for watching Susan. This was defo one of my favourite walks I’ve ever done
Well done! Beautiful scenery. Crow✌️
Beautiful ain’t it. Cheers mate
Stunning video, you make it look so easy. I’d need knee pads and a padded body suit :)
Cheers Ged
Great footage, I climbed Scafell just recently on a clear day, great experience. Thanks
Did you do Scafell or Scafell pike mate? Also if it was Scafell did you do it via lords rake?
@@RamblingWithRitchie I climbed Scafell Pike, it was partially on the 'touristy' route, I think it was called the 'Brown Tongue' route......
I enjoyed watching your vid' that steep climb up through the scree looked a bit more challenging, next time I'm up there I'll try that route.
Ahhh yeah the brown tongue route. Did you spot that you came to a Y junction? Left does brown tongue right goes to Mickledore gully. Another great route up Scafell pike and it also leads to Lords Rake further up on your right which leads to Scafell. Enjoy mate
@@RamblingWithRitchie That was my first climb in the lake district, I've done Ben Nevis and I've climbed in a few other places in Europe such as the Swiss Alps.
Hopefully I can get up and do a few more 'Wainwright's' , the area was stunning and next time i'll keep my eye open for the routes you mentioned, thanks for the great video.
Excellent and informative video 👍
Cheers mate. I appreciate the kind words.
Nice video. Went here for the first time today but descending it via West Wall Traverse.
It’s a great walking/hike/climb on all 4s ain’t it haha
Great video - thanks for sharing
Cheers mate

looks fantastic as you say on a good day the views would be spectacular definitely on my to do list : ) atb daz
Cheers mate
Phew!! Thank you.
Thank you mate
Amazing
Cheers Dominic. You done a lords Rake?
Great vid. Thanks for that. Would you say that the Foxes Tarn route is easy to find as an alternative? (Ps! Just subscrbed👍🏻)
Thanks so much mate. I’m not sure I haven’t actually been to foxes tarn. I’m yet to do that rout and video but I think if you do lords rake then on to the west wall traverse and up that way you come pretty close to it.
Excellent video! Which route would you recommend I take coming off the summit? I will have done Scafell Pike and come up the Lords Rake, I'll be going back to Wasdale I did the Lords Rake 5 years ago but I can't remember if I went back down it!! I don't fancy going all the way down to Foxes Tarn and then back up to Mickeldore again! Any advice would be appreciated! many thanks...Tony
Hi tony.
What you could do is then make your way down to the tarn u can see with the big building at the side of it. It’s called burnmoor tarn. And then from there you can make your way back down to wasdale safely
@@RamblingWithRitchie ahh ok, I'll investigate that route! Thankyou!
@@anthonysmithyman372 it’s a good one mate
