Sean could never be replaced. The wings is the gimmick but Sean is the sauce.
he is a producer so nah. hed be part of the decision maker.
đ€
One thing I e learned in all my years in management itâs that âeveryone is replaceableâ but I also agree he is the soul of the show.
Anyone can do the wings bit, its rarer to have quality interviewers. That's what keeps people coming back
@@leightaft7763 Everyone is replaceable, but not every replacement is an upgrade.
Guests impressed by Sean's questions and guests dying after Da Bomb are the two pillars of the show
Romuald Rosemain he has said that if da bomb was taken off fans would riot. It really is the turning point in the interview
Ronnie Boe it definitely is. Itâs where it gets legit af lol
Yes and yes.
@@Boedayshus Good to hear. Da bomb is definitely a crucial part of the show.
I would be wrecked if they took Da Bomb off the show. The reaction is always worth whoever is on
I can't act like I don't enjoy watching celebrities be inflicted with pain. That's what pulled me in, but Sean is the reason I stayed. He is, hands down, the best interviewer I've ever seen. He's smart, he's charming, he keeps it together, and he does his research. I second the sentiment that he IS Hot Ones.
You are an intelligent Jessica Conley. Some of the celebrities are so real and refreshing. Sean is just a master of his craft.
Totally agree.
Honestly him and Andrew from channel 5 news / all gas no brakes to me are the tippy top of youtube interviewers and journalist.
The most important is that he does his research. I can't remember just how many times the guests on the show commented on how well his research was done.
He's very chill
I think what makes sean evans such a great host is his humility and how he really understates how smart he actually is. He takes up as little space as possible with his guests and asks questions that really humanize them and make them feel like individuals beyond their celebrity. I want to be famous for the sole reason of eating some wings with this man, guys a champ.
Good observation Dean Jordan, I agree.
He mirrors every step the guests take with their wings, too. So no guest ever feels in competition with him or like he's trying to make them look dumb.
đź buy
It's rare to see someone balance being humble yet so confident. He's so pleasant to watch.
Also, I find his interview style to be very smooth and soothing. That is something I would definitely appreciate in a Hot Ones show.
Yes, I was going to write something similar until I saw your comment. Sean has this aura of assertiveness and calmness that makes you feel comfortable.
@@caroh3158 totally, I think itâs because his confidence isnât coming from anything other than his work and dedication to the show. Him saying he doesnât think he could be replaced is strictly because of how much passion he pours into it, doesnât seem as ego or being cocky at all.
yeah hes poliet and courtious towards the guest but in a good way not like sucking the guests balls like most other hosts
Yeah this interview is beautiful. A match between good interviewers and interviewees.
I would love to see Keanu Reeves and Eminem on hot ones.
OoOo.. Em would be awesome.
together? (insert thumbs up emoji here)
Kane Jeffries 100% same
can't say i'm an eminem fan but keanu on hot ones would be like... yeah. fuck yeah.
Imagine a spicy freestyle.
Aside from Seanâs excellent interviewing skills, we also have to give props to the research team behind the questions he asks. All of the praises that Sean gets for this great questions is a testament to how great the whole Hot Ones team is.
he's said before that he still does a lot of the research himself, I think him and his producer do the majority of it. It's clear from the interviews too because he often goes off script and clearly shows how much he know about every guest.
Correct. Sean does most of the research himself.
he is the research team rofl.
I've seen this exact same comment before on a Hot Ones episode comments section, but I think if there were a whole "team" doing the bulk of the research, Sean would be giving them props nonstop. He mentions in this interview that he spends a significant amount of time doing research on his guests. He's humble enough, I believe, that he wouldn't just steal the credit like you're implying.
@@linguisticness he says several times throughout interviews that him and 1 other guy "divide and conquer"
You know what draws the fans? Sean Evans' interview style. Even his guests love his questions.
14:44 for those looking for his take on guests, the rest is good too

Thank you!

Sean is extremely articulate. It is satisfying to listen to
He's engaged and straight talking and great at what he does. Always on message, never challenging. One of the best Millennial hosts in the world.

And then Sean Evans on conanâs podcast
This man is one of the top interviewers in media today and he's slept on.
He has 12 million subscribers, interviews A-list celebrities, and was parodied on SNL. He's slept on by whom, exactly?
The most amazing thing about this whole "Hot Ones" thing is how I have now idolized a journalist. Instead of being all excited about maybe meeting some of the famous guests he interviews I just want to meet Sean.
As a journalism student its sad that this is now a novel idea, like "wow, I never thought I would value a *journalist* of all people!"
But also, Sean's story is pretty much why everyone who becomes an A&E/culture journalist does it in the first place. For our generation its watch Almost Famous and fantasize about getting paid to travel and talk to famous people and then have millions of other people tell you you're smart for writing it down. That's why I got into it lol, I wanted to be a travel writer or food writer or movie writer or music writer and just get paid to consume things. Then I realized that's literally a cushy dream job and there's a reason you know the few famous ones that got lucky doing it and not the millions of others who didn't.
Sean is too humble to say it but everyone knows it, he IS Hot Ones. [edit] SOOO many likes!?! Thanks!
Sean has all the charisma of a sack of potatoes. Hot Ones is about the sauce & wings, and the guests.

No one could replace or duplicate Sean as a host for hot ones. His way to adapt, research, and relate to the various different guest and make the interview NOT feel like an interview but feel like just two friends talking and eating wings is incredible and never before seen like this. Kudos
I agree with you that no one could replace the guy, but let's not pretend it's Sean doing all the research, I'm sure he helps, buy they have a staff for that
@@patrickmcpartland1398 nah he has stated in numerous interviews that him and one other person do the majority of the researching
If Sean got replaced I seriously doubt that I would continue to watch the show. I got to watch him and the show grow! I'm so proud of him and I enjoy his personality and how he listens to and treats the guests on the show. So humble and respectful. He's such a great guy and his questions are fantastic!!!
And the thing is, he asked, generally questions. heâs not trying to trap the celebrities with shock value questions

Sean Evans is one of the most underrated guys on the media landscape. He makes professional look natural, which takes real talent, and he's built a content phenomenon despite being instantly forgettable.
đ Wow starting out with the amazing compliment, ending with the sick burn!
Instantly forgettable?? What you mean, Sean is the man!
Damn, guy ainât forgettable. Thereâs a reason folks come back to watch more. Sean makes the whole thing.
Sean is the goat, not forgettable! Lol
Sean is not replaceable, he is the reason to stay and watch
Seanâs research, thoughtful questions and rock solid realism is at least 50% of why the show is so good. The idea of hot spices breaking down barriers is the other 50%. I hope it stays the same. There is no need to make it bigger or more. It is exactly what it needs to be.
Hot Ones is such a simple premise, but because of how great an interviewer Sean is, and the research they do, coupled with how the "challenge" makes people drop their guard, it is just watch.
Jim and Sam could learn a lot from him when it comes to interviewing people.
They been using the same studio as Ronnie B for the last 15+ years and it hasn't rubbed off....
I was agreeing with you until you ended that first, prolific sentence with, "it is just watch."
Elaborate, please, my friend :)
Amen. Jim needs to hush. Sam needs to research.
I Get that! I am eager to see your thing.
The Gordon Ramsey episode got me to watch the first time, since then I've watched almost all of them. The show is incredible and I don't think Sean gets the credit he deserves for his interviews.
What are you talking about, nearly every episode the interviewee is like "Oh man I'm really impressed with this interview and the questions you're asking", almost in a very patronizing way
He will
Yup. Ever since Gordon, I was hooked. đđđœ
Me Too!
I finally got why ppl love the show...and now I'm just as hooked on it as I am on loving the heat -to a degree, in real life!đ
đđđđđđđđ
Werdna Dracip What do you mean? He always gets a ton of props for his interview technique and the quality of the research.
Sean is 100% a HUGE part of that show working. His research and different questions (along with the hot sauce meltdowns) help humanize the guests and get them âdown to our levelâ. Thatâs what makes it work for me. Couldnât see anyone else doing this show and making it better. Sean is so invested, thoughtful and connects with each guest on the right level, his questions are actually interesting and the way he researches his guests I think speaks volumes to his talent as an interviewer.
Sean makes the show. He is a great interviewer and flows so easily with everyone. They ask excellent questions that make their gusts happy and really think. What a roster he has collected!
i love Hot ones - it's a great show. but as far as it continuing without Sean, I don't think so. The wings were a great gimmick, and still are, but the show really rides on the back of what a genuinely likable guy and great interviewer Sean is. I imagine Sean has a great future ahead of him, and he deserves it!
justin williams TRUTH!
Half of what I love of the show is that he comes up with such well researched questions that the guests seem both genuinely flattered and taken aback. Almost more than how spicy it is. I don't know if he's the one researching those, but I'd still be pretty sad if that didn't stick around.
Yeah, Sean is the secret sauce to the show; there are already copycat shows from big name hosts and none of them are on the level Sean and Hot Ones are.
Sean has no personality on the show. He only has good questions and yall dont realize its a team that comes up with the questions...this all makes him easily replaceable.
@Micah McGillicuddy How about you retort with an actual point instead of posting a dumb ass statement that, in fact, makes you look a troll...a poor attempt at one as well.
"Celebrity interviews are boring" 100% true. Hot ones and Actors on Actors are the only interviews I really tend to watch now.
The off camera show is good as well. I also like Hollywood Reporter The Round Table. (As long as the guests don't get interupted to soon.)
Check out Conan O'Brian podcast. It's excellent
Nardwuar is fantastic, you should check him out if you haven't already.
After game athlete interviews are also HORRIBLE. âTell me, HOW DID YOU FEEEEEEEEL???â đđđđ like so damn boring đŽđŽđŽđŽđ”âđ«
The show is great because the questions are thoughtful and youâre so sincerely generous, which alongside the spice, opens people up

Sean absolutely blows guests away with the questions. It's a well oiled machine at this point and I'm always happy watching it.
Sean's questions are perhaps some of the most well researched questions I have ever seen in interviews. I definitely watch for the off the wall questions that I would not expect to see anywhere else. I'd say the wings are more or less the humanizing aspect of the show that really brings it down to earth and makes it relatable to everyone. People just eating and talking. Great show Sean. Keep up the good work!
Sean Evans is among the best interviewers in history. the composure, questions and follow up banter is unmatched by all but the best of the best.

Good point. The wings are really the most unimportant part of the show but its original. It's not where you are or what you're doing, its who your with kinda thing.
i watched this whole 50 minute interview and enjoyed every minute of it
Sean and the Hot Ones team for that matter are just a cut above the rest.
Sean's demeanor and just "dude on the street" attitude is very endearing to the viewer.
And then you couple that with his insanely chill interview style and the fact that he's also eating those wings simultaneously, that's what makes his show so special.
Couldn't be more honored to have been watching since the early days.
