⛽🔥 *Milo’s Favorite Drill to COMPRESS the Golf Ball: milolinesgolf.com/compress
Early extension has been a killer for my consistency for years. These videos have helped me visualize what needs to be done. Cheers!
Great to hear Tim! Hopefully we do a great job of not only explaining, but demonstrating as well. Thanks for watching.
I use that drill and I feel like I compress my chest and my right shoulder through and against the ground very powerful move. it works.
This really works. I took this to the range and it completely cured my pull. The only hard part is adjusting low point control. I take bigger divots with this method, but that can be adjusted for I'm guessing. If you're a consistent puller of the ball, give this a try.
Love to hear it!
As soon as i started doing this drill my strikes were solid and my divots nice and square, thanks guys
Great to hear Paul! If we can help you any further, be sure to check us out on my website at milolinesgolf.com where we have an online academy and in-person coaching.
awesome golf tips.
Thanks Rafael!
in my studies lately of the golf swing to get rid of too horizontal of shoulders at top.this is a very good visual on the shoulders turning on plane with bonus of impact position!
You got it Larry, thanks for watching!
I use my right shoulder in downswing but it's strictly a lateral move toward the target. The down and out take care of themselves. Otherwise my right side bend occurs too early and I'm stuck. It's where we are on the "spectrum" as you said.
I am a 5hcp looking to make that next leap.
Went looking for this video, ‘right shoulder down’ after getting real improvement from the one handed (trail hand)drill.
Not only has it stopped the big lose right, which used to be a score killer, but has improved the quality of my strike.
Love to see you guys do a video on that drill.
Thanks so much for watching, we cover some trail hand specifics on my website at milolinesgolf.com.
Great video and feel….Thx
Glad you enjoyed it
How close can or should the shoulder get to the ground during the forward swing to impact? Measured in inches if you know the distance.
This is an awesome feel for my short irons but long irons not so much usually a very thin strike. Could the thin strike be from holding my angles for to long? Mainly trail wrist
Could be I’d have to see your swing to give you solid advice. If you’re interested join milolinesgolf.com and you’ll get a free monthly evaluation and access to my library of how to videos.
Even more precise, is the feeling of hitting the ball with the trail-side (right-side) upper rib cage, just below the arm pit. This is much better as it puts the focus on torso rotation NOT the shoulder, which has a lot of movement because it's attached to a nearby socket. All the rest stays the same; Bent at the waist, trail-side lateral bend, trail-side arm bent at the elbow, etc ...
I like it.
Man a toe shank right off Henrys forehead when you did that pivot drill would have made my day!!! Great video guys I'm stealing this feel and I'm just messing with you King Henry!!! lol
😂
It is a great drill/feel, as it helps me keep the same relationship of the arms to the torso for longer, before the arms swing away. Like many club golfers I tend to throw the club head at the ball from P6, which leads to the left shoulder lifting early, to provide space for the hands and club, with the all too common raising of the handle prior to contact. Also helps get more right side bend; so will work it into my pre-shot routine, and hopefully look more like Milo. Many thanks for video.
You bet, and thanks for watching!
Thanks Milo, attempted to put it into practice today. Pleased to report that it works, 100%. Birdied first 2 holes, one under gross for 9 holes. The ball goes straighter, and as a bonus, even flies farther! Highly recommend the drill to all. Augusta here I come!
Haha love to hear it!
extremely helpful way to tie in the "squeeze" video to this concept
Now you're getting it!
@@MiloLinesGolf kind of obsessed with your teaching; fits my lessons like a glove! my teacher in florida is all about using the ground/posture/coil/uncoil; your videos are really taking me to the next level of training!!
will likely book with you for some online or in person soon! love your demeanor coach!
Look forward to it, you can always book online on my website at milolinesgolf.com.
Right shoulder down is a fantastic drill that gets amazing compression ❤
This was a nice video, thanks for watching James!
That lead hip has to clear for that trail shoulder to do what you want.
IMO, if one can get the lead hip to travel properly, the shoulder tends to take care of itself.
Good stuff as always...thanks
Truth
Is most of your weight and pressure on the lead foot as the right shoulder comes through? I have a hard time knowing where to be with my weight as I rotate through. I’m a big time early extender.
I would suggest watching this video: czcams.com/video/dEHn9i9H618/video.html ...pressure begins tracing back
Starting the down swing by dropping the right shoulder does many good things for your swing. The right shoulder is high at the top of the back swing. Dropping your right shoulder puts you into the correct hitting position. People who swing over the top bring the right shoulder around by spinning their hips around. Put a cardboard box just out of reach of your club at set up. To miss the box, you will feel like you have to drop your right shoulder to miss the box.
Bingo!!
Thanks Bruce
Is this a senior golfer movement?
I've been working on this feel, as well as shaft lean and keeping the clubhead outside my hands during the early half of the back swing. This latter mechanic has screwed me up and my progress with shaft lean has regressed. The ball is going all over the place with little center face contact. HELP!
I'd have to see your swing to give you the best feedback. Have you checked out our online academy at milolinesgolf.com?
@@MiloLinesGolf I haven't, but I will. Sorry, about venting my frustration. I know there's no way to tell without seeing
No worries, we give a lot of tips and videos, but at the end of the day there is no substitute for one-on-one help and putting together a roadmap.
This feel is so conflicting for me. I have to feel like right shoulder stays back and right arm starts straightening before rotation or I hit slices. Pros shoulders are square at impact but everything is about getting open. Any input would be wonderful. Thanks.
Some pros shoulders appear square because of the movement of their scapula and the amount of side bend they have. Nearly all have the chest between 25 and 50 degrees open at impact so the shoulders being square is mostly an illusion.
@@MiloLinesGolf thank you for the reply. Just found your channel and am enjoying the content.
Glad to hear, thanks for watching!
Is this the same thing or same motion for the driver???
Yes, but slightly different given length of club, tee height, ball position, etc.
that move having the sensation it's 100 % symmetrical
I like symmetry 👍
For me, I like to feel my left shoulder ripping around my body, level with the ground, after the squeeze. My thought is squeeze (right hip) and then rip (left shoulder).
For many players who know what they are doing I agree. For most, mass confusion.
lol
Rotation Rotation Rotation is the key
Can be for sure...depends on the individual.
according to gears measure, elite or tour player's shoulders at impact are 0-degrees to 5 degrees open at impact.
If you open your chest 30 degrees and side bend 30 degrees the line drawn through the shoulders will appear straight though the body has opened.
So guys, am I doing a right uppercut like boxing or am I learning too play golf !
Kind of goes with our uppercut video, yes.
Right shoulder under beats right shoulder over any day of the week. Cheers
Yes sir
Same for the driver?
Pretty much, yes, just different with ball position and length of club not hitting ground.
@@MiloLinesGolf love it tx
Feelwise, hitting with the right shoulder probably disengages the desire or feel to hit the ball with the arm and the hand.
Can work for some, yes.
I’ve come to the realization that a proper golf swing looks like it’s a lower back killer.
Hmm, to be an improper one looks like a low-back killer: czcams.com/video/jlOUhRCeWbI/video.html
Feel vs Real
yep
Doesn't this drill promote an over-the-top move?
That would be the case with a high right shoulder and not as much right side bend.
it's pretty much like a boxer throwing a right punch using your lower body and right shoulder.
one thing great about clay ballard from topspeed golf is that he's constantly showing the movement in his videos....here you guys just talk talk talk.... we need to see more demonstrations than talk..
Thanks for the advice Peter, will keep it in mind.
Another demanding golfer. If you want a demonstration book a lesson with Milo.
The danger is opening up the shoulders to early, at impact your shoulders are closer to square.
If you shift pressure back to the lead foot before starting to unwind and you unwind on plane there is no such thing as getting too open. The longest and most accurate players all have the chest 30 to 50 degrees open at impact. The shoulders looking square is a function of shoulder mobility and side bend making them appear square.
nothing new.
There is nothing new in this game.
