Yep, that's how I trace wiring for many years. Great tutorial for those who haven't done it before.

Another fabulous episode! Thank you Cap'n Lee. You have the patience of Job to sort that rats nest out, and what a great job you've done too.
Love Bella's sassy "told you so" comment about feeding the radar wire down from the top 😂 Go Bella!
Have an epic week and hope you're foot's not still crocked next time we see you Sara.

Continuity testing can sometimes be deceiving in dodgy wiring. Back in my Telecom days, we were terminating 40pair / 80pair / 120pair cables and doing continuity tests after each cable. There were some techs who were very quick and able to knock off work early. Weeks later, we found they only terminated the first connection and joined all the other wires together. "They all went to the same place, so it didn't matter". 😮😅

When I was with the phone company we'd be sent to a building, some very old buildings, wires all over the place, a connection in a room/office ect, . We'd hook up a "sounder" gadget, it was able to put a signal into a pair of wires, or sometimes a single wire, we'd go to other places where sometimes there were entire rooms of wires, and we had this gadget with headphones and a sharp point, we could hold that gadget near bunches of wires and hear the sounder noise if we were in the right vicinity. Eventually you could get right on the specific wire or pair of wires. You could actually hear conversations coming from the wires without actually being connected ! Very handy for complex harnesses ect.

I've never though about keeping a dedicated roll of cheap wire for wire tracing before, I've always just used whatever was lying around but this makes so much sense!

FYI - @0:10 Preventing heat externally on glass keeps it much cooler inside, vs it already inside with those, rising out the top to the ceiling. External white perforated (dots) vinyl window film, resists heat, provides privacy, & a nice filtered non-glare light inside during the day. Easy DIY.

Hey man, love your videos. Looking for some advice: I have a decent hole in my Ferro cement boat. Something like 300mm x 300mm. I’ve replaced the steel and mesh, tied them all together and I’m about to fill it in with concrete. I’m deciding on whether I choose either Portland cement & Silica sand or epoxy mortar with some admixtures in there to give it a bit more strength. Have you had any experience around this? And if so, do you have any advice?
