The Tennessee Renaissance Festival

There is a direct correlation between being playful and being happy. We stop looking for little treasures along our path and instead we charge straight ahead to our destination with little joy. But life isn’t supposed to be that serious. So how do we break free from the seemingly mundane? What if the Next time someone asks “how are you” instead of responding on auto pilot “I’m good how are you? Try saying something like “I’m alive and today is going to be a wonderful day, don’t you think?” You May catch someone off guard but what you gain is their true attention. Something that simple can get the energy of a conversation flowing in a completely different way. What if the next time you had an opportunity to dress up, you didn’t hesitate to take it. If it seems like a chore, acknowledge that feeling but don’t let it decide for you. The more festive you feel, the more festive you are, and the more others around you are excited and energized by your own energy. The next time you hear a beat, move your body. Move in a way that feels so foreign to you that you feel as if you’re not in your body anymore. Play with your hair. Find a braid tutorial and try a new hairstyle, or style it in a way that you aren’t used to. You may not feel like yourself, but that is exactly the point. Pick up an instrument. Whether you know how to play it or not doesn’t matter. Just listen to the sounds that follow your own fingertips or your breath. Play with words, play with movement, play with perspective and sound. Get out of your own way and out of your head. Are you really still worried what others may think of you? Now is not the time to hold back. Now is the time for you to have fun. It is the time for soul expression and the time for soul expansion. This is ascension time. Relax, and smile and remember none of us are really getting out of here alive after all, so live it up.
